this is a big fail from facebook ,those encrypted conversations dosent synchronize on all devices and i loose messages all the time

Can you do un-encrypt without losing all your previous messages and media? I have used Messenger with a friend where we discussed business projects, and it used to be, we could search our conversation for stuff we shared with each other a few years prior. Now it says we are encrypted and there is no search feature Icon. How did encryption get automatically put in place, neither of us did that? We don't want to fully delete our conversation; we want to go back to how it used to be where we could both search our years old conversations and want to retain our years of conversations 😞
