I was raised in the Jehovah's Witness CULT ..The Watchtower Society forbids them all from having these types of discussions with people. If a JW isn't the one directing and taking charge of a conversation, they are supposed to end it. Hopefully this brother doing his best to defend those man-made beliefs WAKES UP!!

I was in the Jehova witness cult , they act nice but are very very different inside their hearts. If you aren’t Jehova witness they will NOT help you, they will judge you and they are just WEIRD. I grew up with them and now I’m orthodox and I’m glad I left that cult .

JWs are so twisted and twist the scripture that it is almost impossible to show them the original Greeks logical reasoning verses their NWT. As Paul stated the god of this age blinds those to the Gospel. I married one and that lasted 3 years too long.

I've never thought about the verse in that way, that if one says that "one God, the Father" excluded Jesus from being God, the same logic would mean that "one Lord, Jesus Christ" excludes the Father from being Lord.
That is a really helpful way of looking at that verse whem approaching JWs.

If THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD, THE FATHER and they don’t want to accept Jesus as One God because it’s only The Father. Then if THERE IS ONLY ONE LORD, THE SON. Then The Father can’t be Lord as it’s only The Son...

Sam is right that in the Septuagint, Κύριος is used in the place where in the Hebrew text would be the Tetragrammaton (most of the time. That convention was transferred to the New Testament also, because most people were familiar with the Septuagint.
The Greek equivalent of YHWH in the Septuagint is Ων.

I'm a Pentecostal since long ago after my mother, but my father's side of the family are mostly Protestants (can't really tell if they're Presbyterians, Lutherans or what else).
One of my aunts from my father's side converted into JW, and her life has been downhill ever since. In fairness, she was not really the strong in faith type either.
But her life went from okay, to worse and worse, with gambling, debt and her kids only getting to high school and not continuing their education because of their parents ran their money out at cards tables.
All the while, she kept receiving JW 'teachers' into her house like once or twice a week up to now.

before a person comes on to debate they should see if they can each answer the basic and hard questions of their own doctrine. Then they will be open to the truth more. Even Christians can we truly explain to ourselves through the scriptures without google debated doctrines of our faith.
I defer to no one in my awe of Mr Shamoun's mastery of Scriptural reference; so I looked up the Greek in the Gospel According to Mark, Chapter 12, Verse 28.
He recited it word-for-word.
But how that reduces to making Jesus Lord, the One God, I am left wondering.
The King James translation is "Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord."
"You understand when you said 'Okay', you just admit Jesus is the one Jehovah, right?"
No, Mr Shamoun, I do not understand, and you do not explain that, either.

No, it isn't.
There is only Jesus asserting that the Lord our God is one Lord.
He makes no claim at all that He is the Lord. In that passage.

I simply ask Mormons or Jehovah witness this simple question: do I need to become a Jehovah witness or Mormon to gain eternal life? I don’t ask heaven,hell etc… just eternal life, most say yes! So then I say so Jesus isn’t enough, I need Jesus AND becoming a Jw or Mormon . Think about it!
