    Total number of fatalities is only 13(!) between 1990 and 2008? Now imagine the fatalities caused by anti-depressants (suicide, etc).

    So this is a very positive result of the study. None of the few fatalities were proven to be caused by Ibogaine it comes down to.

    This is a good explanation for gauging the risks of potential disaster for an Ibogaine treatment for opioid withdrawals. He is not saying that Ibogaine is bad he is saying that underlying pre existing health issues are most likely the reason for the fatalities for those unfortunate people who lost their lives trying to free themselves from suffering. People who want to do this should consider this information seriously before proceeding.

    ICEERS promotes the integration of Ibogaine assisted addiction therapy into occidental society.To do this it is important to focus on the risks as well as the benefits, with the objective to reduce risks and increase efficacy. For that reason, the data gathered by Howard Lotsof and Dr. Alper seems very relevant to us. It concludes that fatalities occurred in case exclusion criteria were not respected or drugs were used before treatment,suggesting that responsible use of iboga is relatively safe.

    I have done a fair bit of research into taking Ibogaine, I think its fantastic for interupting active addiction. I have been a heroin addict for 20yrs and have tried everything in the past to get clean, I am not going to go through all of them saying they are no good, they dont work. The reason they did not work at that time was because I was not ready to put the work in, after I detoxed. Now getting clean in our everyday lives, now that is a battle, which I am losing miserably and painfully. If this substance can give me the chance to get clean and put me in a positive state of being. YES PLEASE, I'LL TAKE IT TODAY AND EVERYDAY 24/7. I am so grateful for the light in my dark everyday life whilst using.

      frank finn dear frank,i feel your pain litteraly,since i am also in recovery after a crippling opioid addiction,i have done so many dr related so called cures,all seem to have failed except my belief in spirituality,i am not here to denounce or imply any cures,but this one is one the drug companies seem to have covered up for decades and still do,i have heard about ibogaine and aueyausca for about a decade and wondered why they are never offered,the simple reason is they do work and usually needed one course of treatment,unlike naltroxone and suboxoine which stop recepters this cures the problem once and for all,methadone works for some but relapses are huge,thats where these companies make their money,good luck bro,i hope you find peace and calm again....

      frank finn There is a U.S. network of responsible, though underground, providers of ibogaine. I wish I could mention names and contact info but understandably, I cannot. I would suggest trying the Mindvox website to try & find U.S. providers or call the Holistic Sanctuary in Baja which is one of the largest & best ibogaine clinics. The man you want to talk to is "Johnny The Healer" and I believe is the founder/owner. He'll likely be the one answering the phone & is a wealth of ibogaine info & encouragement. A truly wonderful person to talk to. I do not know if he will, or can, but he may be able to point you in the direction of someone who knows someone in the U.S. underground of ibogaine providers. The U.S. providers I know of are also less expensive than going to a clinic in Mexico or Baja or Canada. Ibogaine works, it is not too good to be true, nor a sham. It will work for anyone who wants it. A near miracle.

      carpet bagger,i have jumped of methadone as high as 45mg,s daily and would not recommend this to anyone,in my day there was not an abundance of clinics and doctors and treatment facilities from day patient to full 21 day programs as today,my only route was methadone and or the hard way,after years of opiates,dilaudid and heroin when your script runs out, there was no other choice,but thankfully my appeal to a higher power and the methadone controlled withdrawl by a doctor has and is working,ibogaine use without any spiritual and medical guidance can be extremely dangerous,it surely is a miracle to others ,so is suboxone or naltroxone,both failed for me,the biggest thing is willingness to comply with the procedures implemented by knowledgeable people,be ready,willing and able is half the battle,sometimes being sick and tired of being sick and tired is all that is needed for some others need help,any day away from opiates is a total victory,i wish all who wish to abandon that insane lifestyle too go for it,the freedom alone is worth the effort.....good luck to all,wishing well for you all..

    Do you know approximately how long it's recommended to be off of opiates when one is planning on doing ibogaine? I am figuring out ways of gathering the needed funds to go to an Ibogaine center & I called one yesterday. I'm mainly just curious about the time one should stop opiate use before ibogaine. Thanks.
    I'm actually somewhat fearful of the trip itself as I deal with occasional strong anxiety & rare panic attacks. I'm sick of methadone & want OFF!

    If you're doing detox + psychospiritual (2 floods about 3 days apart), your detox shouldn't be too intense, but if you're in bad shape psychologically (a lot of demons) the psychospiritual journey may be intense. It all depends on the person. However, I'd do it anyway because at the end of the week you literally feel reborn, and you get a chance to work on your anxiety and whatever other issues you have.
    Given the end result, the discomfort's worth it.

    If you read the information provided on our website iceers.org, you can see that we under no circumstances advocate for ibogaine being a 'miracle cure from God', but promote scientific research, risk reduction in relation to ibogaine treatment, and the use of ibogaine in a multi-disciplinary therapeutic program to address all aspects of the drug dependency... There unfortunately are centers that promote ibogaine as a miracle cure, so people should be aware of the potential benefits and risks

    Thank you. A day I can handle.
    Could you speak of the experience of the Ibogaine itself? I have some fear of the Ibogaine trip since as a teen long ago (I'm 45 now) I had a bad acid trip. That was the only time I ever did acid *and* the reason I never repeated. It was only 1/2 a hit, too! I tend toward strong anxiety & rare panic attacks. In the large amount of testimonies I've watched recently a common thread concerning the Ibogaine trip is "it was hard/rough/intense" or similar. Thanks.

    Actually he is that smart, and you seem to be taking this video as some kind of attack on Ibogaine, which it isn't. He's explaining that the rare fatalities are (1) people who use opiates around the time of Ibogaine use; (2) certain preexisting medical conditions; (3) overdose of Iboga.

  • @barth1007
    @barth1007 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I advocate safe psychedelic use including ibogaine, and I really don't see anything wrong with this research. He's investigating the potential dangers of using ibogaine, not general viability of its use, if anyone concludes from this that ibogaine should be restricted/illegal you should blame that person, not the researcher. The fact that it has been used for thousands of years does not mean its safe (though it most likely is).

    It's a short period, something like a day or two, I believe. The important thing is not to take any opiates while iboga/ibogaine is in your body, because it sensitizes you. For that matter they do not recommend drinking alcohol for quite awhile afterwards as well.
    I would recommend a place that does 2 flood doses - a detox and then a psychospiritual journey a few days later, because while detox interrupts the withdrawal, the psychospiritual journey deals with why you used in the first place.

  • @EsqDave
    @EsqDave 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh yeah, and you need to be free of alcohol for 3-5 days. Ibogaine will not prevent alcohol withdrawal seizures.
    Your provider should be able to address all these questions better than a You Tube comment discussion.

Not going to get into details but I have been off ALL TYPES drugs, no REPLACEMENT DRUGS - for 7 years now. Yes, I do know what I am talking about. Even if a drug stops physical issues, that isn't the problem. And if it alters your outlook on life, who is to say that is safe? What if it alters it in a bad way?? You don't know about the horror stories of this drug

    My daughter died 8/8/20 from treatment received at Baja Ibogaine. This is not a legitimate clinic in Baja Mexico. Those responsible for her death are Jose Cerda, Dr. Velazquez and Chris Gagen. These men are apart of other Ibogaine clinics in the Baja Area. She should have never received this treatment. These men prey on people who are vulnerable, seeking help. Don't let another person die at a bogus clinic or at the hands of the incompetent.

    Ibogaine didn't work for my ex. 3 trips to Pangea in Mexico for opiate, benzo & ETOH addictions failed. He cont. to use, going from one substance to another. It just got worse, not better. I think ibogaine makes you feel good initially, for a few days, but I didn't see a change in behavior. Ibogaine doesn't lend itself to sobriety. Go to a reputable program. Embrace that you need hard work to get better. Going to a resort in Mexico that promotes hallucinogens won't work in the long run.

    Ibogaine is given when you begin opiate withdrawal - that's kind of the point, there is no kicking. You need to be completely off all benzos and stimulants (cocaine, etc) for at least 72 hours, you don't need to be off opiates.
    Ibogaine resets the brain's opiate receptors, so there's no physical cravings for opiates afterward. The psychological aspects of addiction require ongoing care (either 12 step, or therapy). It's not a silver bullet as to all aspects of addiction - there isn't one.

      David Wadsworth 😿 I'm so sorry. That's tragic. May he Rest In Peace. If he was suicidal, maybe he should have been put on antidepressants afterwards. Idk. I'm taking it in a couple weeks & am well informed, by my sobriety coach, about the work I will have to put in afterwards & that this is not a cure-all. No one should have told you or your brother that it is.

    Yes there are many that have tapered off...but there is also a large group who intend to continue on Methadone or Suboxone forever! Benzo and alcohol detox can be lethal but Ibogaine is for Heroin addicts.They go thru detox in 2-3 days rather than 5 or 6, that said,.I want to address Brian Peixinho's statement! Detox is only the beginning for ALL addicts,once the mind is clear,then recovery begins either with a 12 step program and N/A meetings!!!
