Brez did a video on this and he said that the reason inkie didnt win was because of his second device. The judges thought it was a little too much.
The judges shouldn't have done what they did. 3 out of 5 judges admitted that Inkie was a better man that day, in nearly every aspect, but they still voted on NME because of the second device. This is absolute dogshit. SBX allowed him to bring this particular device, they surely made some research to see what Inkie will be able to do with it, they agreed for him to use it, and when he actually did use it to the full potential he got robbed out of his victory. This is one of the reasons for Inkie quitting battling.

@@meireles9 Its not a lie, he can have a second device. What you are saying is a lie. He changed the pitch on his second device and that is not allowed. Every sound must be created by using the mouth/body. People like Rythmind use feedback and change pitch BUT that is on the Rc505 NOT a second device. He broke the rules on his second device not by having one.

BREZ on his channel did a detailed reaction to the battle as well as insight on why INKIE lost. Spoiler,
3 of the judges said he should’ve won but wouldn’t let him because of the equipment he used. Sbx allowed him to use it however the judge rejected the concept of allowing something like artificial sounds being used in a beatbox battle.
There were no artificial/pre-recorded sounds.
The SBX crew must have known that there is a function to change the pitch on the spot like on the keyboard with this device, also he did create those sounds with his mouth/body, he was changing the pitch, this is a different thing because the base sound was made by mouth/body thus not breaking the rules. The rules disallowed the use of keyboards, this device is not a keyboard, and in the rules as far as I know (I might be wrong), there is no rule saying you can't change the pitch of the sound you made.
INKIE has said that every sound he made was done live and by him alone

Just so you know, NME won because Inkie was using his second device in a way that the judges thought it was against the rules, that is why the votes were 5-0.
I said it already and I say it sgain. Inkies tracks would fit perfectly in cyberpunk 2077.
Edit: You should watch Brez video and madox video analysis on the GBB battle. They have background info on the battle, which is quite interesting. Short version is, that the rules allow inkies second machine he used, but the judges didnt approve of that. They also wanted more "natural" sound and Inkie was too electric, so they chose NME, despite his massive mistakes in timing and pitch.

@Patrickmzongo well yes the device was allowed but he used it in a way that wasnt. If you look he changes the pitch of his sound without using his mouth, but instead he just uses his hands on his second device.

The fact that Inkie was the victim of the judges' protest in a way just frustrates me. He was just better in that battle but the judges make it seem like he lost so convincingly.
