this is highly labour intensive and time consuming work. no doubt about the quality of the workmanship and the workers themselves but the technology should be made available to them so that no only the work becomes more productive but the quality of the life also improves. it is in this aspect that the Chinese are way ahead one may continue to hate them but technologically they are superior. where are the IIT and the ITI are they sleeping? publishing research papers only help them but the real work is to use imagination not only to produce better products and technology but innovate als. in fact the biggest USP of the Chinese is the INNOVATION both in their products and technology why not ape them for the betterment of the indian small scale and cottage industries? last but not the least one of the commentator has raised an important point why not clean the work place so as to be a source of inspiration for the next day. money comes to the big malls only due the way the things are displaced in the shops there that is why the shops are called SHOW ROOMS i.e. a room where the products are shown. you require a little bit of imagination if you really like your work present it in an interesting way. look at the plush gardens and parks outside india the grass and the flowers are the same but it is the eye catching presentation which scores the point. this is where the malls score over the simple bazaars. asking for the novel presentation of the the hard laboured work of your own is not too much is it?
Why do people in the subcontinent area always seem to work in filthy, dirty, untidy, unsafe conditions? Is it too much to ask to clean up each day after work has finished?
Two times hardest because is a very primitive use of relative recents mechanical tools, I never will underestand why they work on mere soil? Is really poverty? In fact it is a mental poverty due to nobody teach them to improve the works conditiond conditions. I guess...
