Hats off to The 79 Prof.! It's a real treat to hear this classic cleaned up and as vibrant as it was when new. This ditty was written and recorded before the Great Depression, which gives later generations some insight into the national culture during the Roaring Twenties, the period immediately after World War I. Thank you for your preservation efforts.
@@the78prof72 I grew up playing my parents' collection of old 78 rpm records. They all had annoying pops, crackles, skips, and scratches. It takes a lot of time and effort to get a 1927 recording to sound as good as this one, and I wanted you to know how much your hard work is appreciated.
First heard this in Looney Toons when I was younger. The tune just popped back up in my head and has stayed up there for a few days. Finally found the name of the song. Great music :)
My Mother was born in 1927. ♥️

And thank you for the kind words, Gary! So glad to know that you're here and enjoying the presentation. 🎵

SAME! I spent years humming this tweety bird song, trying to figure out what the real one was. Now I know!
Me too looney tunes ❤
Nothing is better than reminiscing on a time period you wish you could’ve seen😁 this puts me there.
This song will turn 100 in 3 years
I heard this on the game bioshock lol
Best version of this song!
Nat Shilkret's orchestration version on Victor was better, but the vocal is better on this version.
Wunderbar
In German TV was a science show with great effects with this song as its intro. The show’s name was „Knoff Hoff Show“. I love to watch it as a child
