  • As the 50th video on my channel and my last upload for a good while, here is one of my favorite anipiano arrangements of all time - James Chou's Yakusoku.
I just love everything about this arrangement. The perfectly balanced use of arpeggios and three-hand. The polyphony everywhere. The absolutely beautiful coda that wraps it all up. And the 1:12 transition might be the most satisfying passage I've ever played. Yakusoku is one of my favorite songs ever and this arrangement really does do it justice.
I will be moving out to college tomorrow! It's been a fun summer :')

I think my jaw has come off. James Chou always has amazing arrangements and your performance here was absolutely phenomenal!! Incredible virtuosity, super clean playing and great dynamic control! Color me impressed :D
And rip summer vacation, time to suffer again~

Always glad to see you here and thanks so muchh!! This was one I told myself I "needed" to finally record before summer vacation even started LOL
Looking at the new animes (espcially CSM with the 14 new songs!) for the fall season; hoping to still do some seasonals during the school year but we'll see how it goes 👀

@@LinuxPiano ah yes, these more demanding pieces are no joke when it comes to recording lol I have a few I haven't dared to record either so I feel ya mate xD
And good to know there's interesting animes for this coming season, I was wondering with a friend what we'll be watching lol fingers crossed for piano covers ლ(^o^ლ)

WTF, first cover I've seen for this arrangement. It's crazy seeing someone other than James playing it, and this well! I just gave up learning this one because of the 4th/5th finger trills at 0:44 (in addition to the 3 hand technique); litterally unplayable for me, it requires insane finger independence.
Therefore, congrats for your performance, which is super controlled and crystal clear! You can be proud 👏

YOOOOO btw really appreciate your transcriptions man, the LaTale OST, Aquatope OP, and After All (from a while back) arrangements were so fun to learn!! Still need to check out the others someday...
The trills are definitely "the wall" in this one! I also had to grind it out a bit, worked on this on and off for a loooooong time but luckily still managed to finish it in the end since I just love this song so much :) Thank you so much for the kind words!!

You are a brilliant pianist! You played this in such a virtuosic way and you have left me so impressed by your interpretation of this arrangement by James Chou. This was very well articulated and the dymamic range was excellent. I love how you built the intensity so well. This is such a phenomenal piano cover!

Music aside, I just gotta say, HOLY SHIET THE VISUAL IS SO AESTHETIC. Very very nice lighting here, and in all your other videos too (from what I see via your thumbnails)
Back to the music, you performed this arrangement so effortlessly. You got really good techniques and this is really satisfying to listen to! Definitely checking out your other videos huhu

It's really a coincidence my setup worked so well haha, the shelf I've always used growing up just works perfectly once I found some lights to place on it :)

Such a beautiful performance, amazing job man! It's great to see someone playing a James Chou arrangement. Just curious, have you heard of Chris Luan? Anyways, I hope you get off to a good start in college!

Fun fact, I do know how to play his Namae no Nai Kaibutsu arrangement. It still does need quite a bit of polishing though, the runs and octave spam are not fun to practice at all :(

James Chou arrangements aren't always as intuitive to learn and play as most Animenz arrangements, but they really do sound magical when the final product is all put together :')
