Perfect timing. Came back to the game (played till 55k population on launch) because of Frieren. Already knew I wanted Frieren and Himmel and was tempted to go for Raphael. But as a carp I'll go for Fern now :) I'll just use this team as a general team because I love the playstyle and the characters
I know where you're coming from, so objectively, you speak truth :) However, that said, Slime team-building often feels like a jigsaw puzzle. There are times, particularly in high level content, when what you need to do requires wants a unit with X and Y, and when you don't have that one, maybe you have one with X and another with Y, but then you have to figure out what other unit to ditch, and if they are critical too... you're left in a quandry. And for those of us that would rather just play Slime for an hour or so a day, we just don't have unit capabilities on our fingertips so it makes it even more painful to find subs. And so, I think you sometimes seem to be arguing against yourself when in some later video months later you showcase a team for something that has units you recommended against. For example, most of the time, when you put together a VoC team, you typically include Jaune who you rated a "no". The last New Years team (Shion, Rimuru, et al) was a "probably save" yet for quite a number of months this year, this team seemed to be included fairly often. It seemed like the game was trying to feature opponents that required teams that weren't the popular ones. I think it would be an interesting exercise if for each beatdown/jubilee/challenge video you do, that you look at your recommendations, and try to stay within them, as much as you can for at least a few battles. Maybe you could label these videos as "F2P Joker" :) though I'm not saying you should be using an account that is F2P. But at least feature unit combinations that you've recommended.

Same, I was super unlucky on Himmel, but super lucky on the others. Frieren on 1st pull then 2 more dupes until finally Himmel on 22nd pull. Then Fern on 3rd pull and Raphael on 1st.
Appreciate the video. I pulled on Raphael simply because I'd actually like to have all the collab characters. Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to pity the character since I'm at 180 currently. Oddly, I did get all of the other EX characters from that banner multiple times. Like I've never pulled this many EX characters ever, just not the one I was going for.
I am recent viewer, played the game from the start as soon as the game became available in mobile. Free to play player and managed to get frieren,himmel,rafael and fern for a total of 10 draws. Thank you for the vids and maybe asking tips how to maximize them
I see himmel and Raphael as a multi colored team since there are decent adventurer units that are fire and wind. Raphael enables an immediate ex ult and himmel is both burst and stacking. I disagree with Raphael being the least useful in the future since while there were new events that are type neutral, most still encourage the latest banner team which would make nerfing weakness unlikely. Raphael as an unbindable orb stealer is already great plus having a generic attack and weakness buff is extra especially over other stealers. I think she can replace a unit on most teams while Fern and Frieren are great, but rely on synergy and overlap with DG diablo.
I partially agree. It’s true that Raphael brings so much weakness to the Adventurer team with her ultimates that it can make sense to include a DPS of other colors while keeping the Adventurer team. However, outside of her team, I don’t think she’s that useful. Most of her buffs come from her ultimates, and converting orbs to orange can be counterproductive if the team relies on something else. Without this, there are valid alternatives that, depending on the situation, could be better.
@@user-es7bk1hu1z definitely not saying she'd be the best unit for a different team for best damage, but I can see her as a viable replacement for support damage buffer and even ultimate converter. For example you can use her to steal orbs for another team support ultimates which means you don't need an ultimate converter. Only near end do you steal orbs for nuke and use her buff which still helps even if not the best. Orange conversion is double sided sword. Might help get ultimates faster, but could also cost skill points to convert. The previous protectors did full orb conversion and lots of units with orange conversion and self conversion so I don't think the drawback is that bad.
No, I do those videos at the start of the meta because you have so many empty slots. Once the rest of the team is out, you just slot them in, and then decide what the best fit is for the final unit.

7:00 not the greatest reasoning imo. Type neutral stages are usually not that hard and the examples shown didn't have significant stakes. In 90% of cases you're going for supporting a type adv nuker. And unlike FM momiji Raphfrieren gets most of her buff upfront anyways. You can simply boil it down to "there are more powerfull buffs for 90 pts and there are other orb stealers". It's good that she combines both for once, but not the world.
Wasted all my crystals on 1st banner had to pity himmel. Managed to save up for 5 multies and tried fern didn't work out almost lost hope Not even 2 hours ago managed to get another multie and pull fern. I will still try to summon for raphael if i get crystals cause you know collab n shit

I just want Rapheal because she's one of my favorite characters and I already got the other 4 frieren units so my collector's spirit desires to complete the set, I plan on having this as a side game so I don't think I'm super pressed about meta
Already spent 10k crystals as newbie- (i started and kept saving and doing story with random units from tickets) and got all 4 of them (i started playing only because of this collab). I hope i didnt like… went overboard?
While I agree with you that Raphael is probably the most skippable of the meta, I feel there ARE going to be situations where Raphael will get use. First of all, Jubilee isn't mono-element. Devs LOVE to have 3 elements+ per jubilee. We cant predict the future, but in the next coming months IF there are jubilee stages with weakness to light, you can pretty much know that Raphael will be used because "the friren team" will get used. It is pretty difficult to say a certain team will never get used outside of this month UNLESS the team itself doesn't work well (like Prosper of Peace) Second of all, if you dont have any other triple orb stealer, a problem which LOTS of new player will have. Having Raphael and get yourself a triple orb stealer is not bad at all. They get used a LOT in jubilee (even though in most of these recommendation video, Joker will tell you to skip them because the game had 3 of these already), but you have to consider it given your own box scenario.
I think I had maybe 12k-14k saved up, I got Frieren and Himmel at 270 mark, got Frieren really early. Got Raphael at 60, and I had to pity Fern at 200. With 3k Leftover. I did get dupes for Frieren, used the free ex crystals to get her to 116 and got the $24 pack to get her to 120. I woulda said going f2p was doable but Fern banner busted my balls. I think if Fern and Raphael were the same banner, hitting pity wouldn't felt so shitty. And I been saving for months, only just going for collab. That why last year sucked when they had overlord so close to that idol collab banner.
I still think that raphael could have some use for burst red teams that need an ult fast and that could use the first skill too like other beatdowns where you just dont pull the meta, just her ult would be useless could also be usefull if we get others red stacking teams with her 50% protection buff and 'triple' convert. Like yeah you wont use her on every team but I feel like she can have more uses than you give raphael credit for joker

Hey, I’m new to this game, and I was wonderin "since you mentioned that Raphael is a collaboration character and won’t be obtainable again" does that mean the collab banner won’t return in the future? Similar to how Albedo Shizu haven’t come back, is there no chance they’ll reappear? Or will Albedo Shizu come back?
Neither Raph nor Albedo Shizu will return. It's cause Bandai would have to pay the owners of those IPs again to do that. It makes more sense for Bandai to invest in a new collab than to rerun the old characters, if they are going to have to pay either way. For better or worse, if you want the Frieren characters, then you should get them now or forever hold your peace, so to speak
I don’t have a lot of experience in this game since Ive only played for a month, but I’m pretty sure that after the collab ends, the characters are gone forever. Just like the konosuba collab, I don’t think we can get any collab characters from then. Unless some devs changed their mind.
I have bad luck in this collab banner, if i'm not getting Fern by the end of the banner, i will uninstall this game, and start installing Isekai ∞ Isekai game

I already both got Frieren and Himmel in 5 x10 pulls and I'm slowly working to get Fern. but as a F2P player getting 300 crystals is not easy

Got raphael on first pull, 2 himmel on 3 pulls and frieren on 5 pull. Rngesus blessed me. Now it left me, i put 18 pulls on fern and she's not here.

I have the impression that the jubilee will have a lot of binding, all units in this meta received badges with 100% dodge
