UPDATE: After a lot of researching, the way it was solved in this video is the correct way. Siebenstein-Spiele's puzzle solution confirmed that using the rope is the correct way to solve this puzzle box. The wooden keys are just decoys. I can provide the puzzle solution upon request.
I got this as a gift recently, and since I was able to remove the little screw(?) from the jigsaw shaped top-piece I though the screws were part of the puzzle. I used it to undo the screws on the bottom, and completely dismantled the entire box. When I saw the hook and magnet inside I realized I just broke it instead of solving it lol.
Haha that's funny. Yeah, there are many puzzles that have screws that are meant to unscrew to solve and others that have similar screws and not suppose to mess with them. So its kind of an unfair concept to make us solve like this in my mind. And the keys they gave here just made it so frustrating because they were useless decoys. Oh well, you never really know what the puzzles are like until you solve or take it apart lol
Just came up on another way of opening this box... If you smash the box on to something soft, so it won't break, will the magnet unstick and release the bottom lid?
Ha! I read this and thought you said just smash it to open it, which is always a great solution! But out of curiosity I did just try what you suggested and the magnet is surprisingly strong it does not budge at all.

After a lot of other attempts and researching more about this puzzle box, I received information from Siebenstein-Spiele regarding the solution. The way I attempted this solve is actually the correct solution for this puzzle. The wooden keys are just decoys; and you will find a lot of decoys and red herrings in many puzzle boxes to throw the solver off. I was also surprised that the way this was solved was actually the correct way, by using the rope, because I was so fixated on those wooden keys!! I know it may be silly, but it is the way they made it I guess.

Thanks Man! Yeah, I guess I am finding that some puzzle boxes look great and intimidating but solutions turn out to be too simple or cheesy.
