The XJR1300 is nice take on what we used to do to our UJMs (Universal Japanese Motorcycle) in the 1980s, but for a really nice neo-retro Yamaha really should introduce an up-to-date version of the old XS650. It would be an ideal platform for classic, flat-track, or scrambler versions.
I am thinking this bike is available in the U.K. as they are saying it is not coming to the states(which is a true shame) otherwise why have the engineers speaking English with English subtitles.
You had ONE job! Just put on a proper ABS-brake on the old model and the sales would've atleast doubled. I was almost desperately waiting for the 2015 model with ABS. But you screwed it up really, really, really, really bad. No more classic big-bike looks (wtf is going on with the rear-end?!). No more 2-up-riding (the seat is ridiculous). No more daily-driver or touring (14-litre-tank, srsly?). And for what? The customizers change the parts anyway, so why did you have to dislodge the average Joe that was just looking for a nice, distinguished, stylish and powerful bike?
BFD15i spend the money saved by not having ABS on rider training, a good rider who know's his bike will out brake ABS in the wet or dry. can't say i'm an expert but i do teach rider training and i currently ride a 2014 ZX10r (non ABS)
I love XJR's and have been riding one for years and the new 2015 version is horrible. It now looks more like an HD sportster (after a crash) with a small pathetic headlight, a slimmer tank and a short back end with a license plate holder that sticks out a mile like you get on those tiny new sportsbikes. You've now lost the whole muscle bike appeal and i will look elsewhere for my next bike, this should have been a special edition version rather than a replacement.
Hate the new look - its just horrible. Single large exhaust makes whole bike look unbalanced, lack of tail will be inconvenient for pillion passenger and rider (no storage) and also looks bad. If I bought one of these I would be straight on ebay looking for old style tail and seat unit and welding brackets to the frame to make em fit. So I will stick with the old model thank you and buy one second hand.
Wow, you accomplished to completely destroy and transform a really beautiful bike into an utter pile of garbage. Shame that you have to jump the modern, trendy hipster-custom-bike-with-stubby-seats-wrenchmonkees-style-train, really. Maybe you should make the slip on even bigger, might as well take a chimney!! Mission failed, miserably!
Thanks, Japan, for 50+ years of great motorcycles.
Wish we had this in the US. We need muscle bikes.

I would love to see this one in the states!
If Yamaha imported this into the US I'd have one in my garage.
Awesome, now bring it to America!
that's a sweet engine sound
Love the look of the new XJR, but I can't figure out how it weighs so much.
brilliant motorcycle
Look vintage, et puissante ! i love it
May the torque be with you.
Wish they would bring this bike to the States. :-/
STUPENDA QUANDO ARRIVERà SUL MERCATO ITALIANO? DA QUANDO SARA ACQUISTABILE?
When will it be at the dealer showrooms...???

The return of the Muscle Bikes!!
Now if Kawasaki will just bring back the ZReX :3
Will this bike ever be available in the USA? It's never been offered here to date. :(
かっこいい。
日本でも売って下さい。
近所のバイク屋で買います。
HAWT!!! Better looking than that Honda CB1100 ANY day of the week!
Looks damn sweet but I bet we do not get that here in Japan, which, if true, is ridiculous.
Hope we do though and thanks for posting.
Somebody thinks you need a 1300cc engine to ride around the hood.
Make a 400cc version and it will have sense and it will be sold in Japan.
So competition to the CB1100?
will it be available in other cc's ? like 400cc, 600cc ?
USA?
OMG but it back the way it was perfect
looks great :D Motorcycle.com will you be taking a look at this when it comes out ?
What is the song towards the end of this video?
They should send me a XJR to customize for them !
I like that a lot.
You should reactive this bike. New 4 cylinder screamer engine and this same capacity or higher.

What is the old bike they based it on?
The XJR 1300 itself of course, that has been around for 20 years...

well damn it yamaha, if you're not going to bring it here to the usa at least fix it where i can order one !!!
Dont see the point in making 'custom' factory bikes. The point of custom is that you made it the way you like it.
Sell in the US!

if yop need rider aids like ABS or traction control maybe you should not ride a bike? stick to cars.
MrKdr500 Ah, there's an expert talking. Or maybe just another knucklehead? I go for the knucklehead.

BFD15i seriously there's super bikes that dont have abs. No cafe racer motorcycle needs abs. Lol
***** shit happens bro ! ABS can save your day so why hate on it ??
If you are liking this then just go get a ZRX!!
Got one....and I love it!!!
You have finally managed to fuck up the last great bike Yamaha had. Congratulations!

This should have never been anything...
look a like harley davidson xr1200

But still they are running those cheap ass entry level øhlins on it.... get a grip!! Nice bike thou.
What a dumb looking bike. No ones buying that. We want futuristic looking bikes like the H2.
