This song gives me nostalgia, I remember my childhood memories hearing this song. All those good times, this is one of the few songs that really make me wish I can go back to the good old days. 😔💕
I was abused in my early childhood and don’t remember much now. I can remember one halloween, my uncle and aunt took only me out of all my siblings to trick or treat. I was in the back seat squished between two baby seats. My cousins must of been 3 and 1 then. I remember this song playing and my uncle driving in circles of the rich neighborhood and all of us in the backseat pretending we were on a roller coaster. I never was able to find this song until now. I’m an adult and haven’t seen my cousins in a while but i’m happy to have found this song and relived this memory.

I think its a wonder that I can listen to this song 40-50 times a day and STILL get as giddy as I did when I first heard it...METRIC is some good stuff.
Everything works in this song: The driving bass line, the staccato drumming, lead guitar and Emily's breathy lyrics. I played this song endlessly on roadtrip, often grinding along at 150 kmph before catching myself.
Metric has some of my favourite songs to just calmly listen to. This just started playing on the radio as I’m driving through Ontario, and it just feels so nice and calming to listen to, especially while surrounded by a beautiful forest. I also haven’t heard this for a few years, and it just brought back some great memories of listening to it.
"It's like trying to touch the bottom of a swimming pool with a lifejacket on." This song reminds me of how someone described living with certain cognitive disabilities/impairments (in my case I've been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and ADHD, all which I vehemently denied for a long time, but finally have accepted and am trying to figure out how to live with them).
You know a lot of bands after they release a few albums start drying up. They can't come up with cool new ideas but these guys are strong, they just keep pumping out the cool new songs. What a great group, love these guys
Emily Haines' voice is one of the most purely calming things I think I've ever heard in musical form. On this song, and quite a few others I've heard, she sounds like an AI calling out to us from the future, telling us that they've seen how it ends, whatever it is, and that everything is going to be okay.

I first heard this song after spending a week in the wilderness in Upper Ontario on Lake Superior, kayaking between islands. Such a beautiful song. I was missing my wife so much and really wanted to see her very much. Little did I know that she was going to ask for a divorce when I returned. Setting me on an unexpected journey of self-discovery. A lot of pain, tears and joy . Funny how you think your life is going to play out one way, but then it becomes something quite different. Even better.
