The next time you do a Camaro ,can you go over the back up camera wires . and the parking brake bypass? I found your video on the parking brake bypass but I can’t find anything on the RR wiring for a aftermarket back up camera ? Does it just go to my pioneer radio harness or does it go to the RR brain box also as a T hook up . My camaro kit came with the main harness and a wire harness adapter P10 for a pioneer radio .Do I just t in The reverse signal or cut the wire like you did on the parking bypass ?

If This Kit was out last year and you didnyour install on it instead of the pac kit, I would have bought this one. Looks really nice and the RR kit seems to be really nice for adjusting things.
On my car it does not have door locks on the door, only the radio. The problem I would run into was I would hit the hazard switch when unlocking the doors. This killed my battery many times. The battery’s are not cheap for the car, so the kit came out. I’m really liking this kit so far. Look wise, aside from the dials missing, it is way nicer.
Us old guys love knobs for the fan and ac. Lol

Very Cool. Just no BMW from iDataLink Maestro. For BMW use the Resler IBUS interface. Only difference is the Resler App isn't preloaded on the Kenwood.

PAC will have one for Elev8. They are working on the software now. We had the kit on the show a couple months back.

Hey Dean, very cool video and very informative. Do they make a dash kit for the 2017 Ram? Would love to get rid of the uconnect radio, and upgrade to something else. Preferably with the same screen size or bigger using the Rr or Rr2.

BTW that evap p0449 code is difficult to change. I had it happen on my 2010 v6. PAY someone to do it. the rear has to be dropped to change it.
Nah, it can be done without dropping the rear. It's a massive PITA, but it can be done. But depending on cost it may be worth to avoid the headache.
What about heated seat controls?
So I'm confused. Im looking to buy this dash kit for my Camaro, I understand I need to buy the Maestro RR module. But do I also need to buy the iDatalink HRN-RR-GM2 Interface Harness to retain door chimes or is that included with the dash kit?
The grey sides, makes it look odd. Think of it as the dash giving birth to a head unit. Sit back and look at it.

Hey guys I need help! I installed a Kenwood DMX7706S in my 2015 caravan using the maestro kit. Then installed an aftermarket reverse camera set for constant power. I have a great picture but when try to set the parameters it will not save. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

What happens if you unplug from the OB2 port for a bit to tune your car?
Nothing should happen, the kit is pre programmed before install, so retains all saved data. My battery went totally dead and I waited until spring to get new battery. All worked after new battery even steering wheel controls.
Just a quick question. Does the maestro GM5 harness have a connection point for the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) wire that is on the new Kenwood models?

Heated seats shows under ac and all works smooth, no issues.

got the parts coming to add the rr2 and a pioneer to my 2013 and the one part I've been unsure on is the wiring for the speakers themselves, I've got the base radio, not the Boston acoustics, so which option do i need to do? wire the from the cam1 kit to the harness from the pioneer radio correct?
Dean-Fernano: Does wireless carplay works on your unit? Mine doesn't. Crutchfield already replaced my first HU bc we thought that there was an issue with the first one. After installing the replacement unit, everything works fine but after driving the car around, error message popped out on the HU saying that the VSS wire need to be connected to use Apple wireless carplay. This is the same issue just like the first HU. Every time I get in the car, my iPhone doesn't connect wirelessly to the HU. I have to plug in my iPhone first then if I unplug it, wireless Carplay works fine. VSS wire from the HU harness is connected to VSS the wire from the Maestro. Per Kenwood, try connecting with and without the diode from the Kenwood harness but still have the same issue. Any ideas? This is for 2017 WRX Limited with NAV and Harman Kardon. Thanks!
Did you call idatalink yet? It sounds like the vss may not be there. Definitely call them not the others

What do you do when you bring it in for service tho? You'd have to disconnect the OBD2 plug but then would the radio/car work?
Radio will work fine the gauge display will not function.
@@FiveStarCarStereoInc i have the same question in a way,I want to put a idatalink kit with a kenwood 7706s unit.i have a range technology that goes into the OBD2 that wipes out the AFM on the car and puts it into 8 cylinders all the timethat I use as well.can you use a after market OBD splitter?can you still use the headunit if its not plug in to the OBD2.? With it not plug in what will not run.?

Hey guys, I'm late to the party.. I just picked up a cherry 5th gen and the only thing I need is a stereo upgrade. I bought this kit with the Rr and a Kenwood DMX9707s and I'm a tad confused. I, for obvious reasons, want to "unlock" the unit so my passenger can use the menus while I'm driving. Will I not connect the parking brake wire to the harness and chassis ground it?

Is there a Maestro modual to retain factory USB in a 2016 1500 sierra? I see its built right into the camaro one, the sierra they are in the consol, I lost my 12v as well when I has the kenwood excelon installed. Also wondering if I can retain the factory microphone instead of using the one supplied?
I am interested in the eXcelon double din HU's but I haven't seen you test them like you have tested other head units. Fining the max volume before distortion specifically. The 996XR, 906S, 905S, DNX696S... Or.... what is your best guess or safest guess based on your knowledge of previous eXcelon head units?

Will all Kenwood revievers have all these vehicle features like 0-60 and all the other cool stuff or do I need to get one with navigation? Also does it need to be an XR model to have these features? Or are all those features in the maestro itself and I will have them with any of the newer Kenwood Receviers? Thank you!!
i just bought a kenwood excelon car stereo. is this something thats a requirement to install?my stereo comes with the plug in on the back of the deck. but is this required for install?
Dumb question. Looking to install an Android head unit in a Camaro 2012 however the RR doesn't support Android anyway around this? What are the wires coming into the loom that control key one and key to that I could just hook directly to the Android? Not looking to retain OnStar or door chime

Super disappointed that Kenwood decided to remove HDMI from their head units and keep it that way. I would have preferred a Kenwood as the performance of the OS seems to be better. I know they likely did it because they didn’t want to pay for the licensing. But what could have done in exchange was placed a DisplayPort on them as that doesn’t have to be licensed, and the customer would have to purchase a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter or cable instead. If you know anyone at Kenwood, please pitch that idea to them

I have the same question as Bill C below, can a person add the Maestro with T harness using the PAC kit? If so, any idea where can one could get the harness without purchasing the entire Cam1 kit?
How many amps can be wired to the amp turn on on these model (and its non-nav sister model) before having to relay it? Can it handle 2 amps or should I just go ahead and figure a mount for a relay?
If just amps, 3 or 4. If there is an antenna wire connected also add relay or move antenna to Acc power.
Just wondering. You have installed a few radios so far in the Camaro. Why does the factory unit keeps ending up in it again?

What did you do for the antenna adapter? I installed this kit with the ddx9705s 2 weeks ago and I used the powered metra 40eu55 adapter connected to the blue wire on the kenwood harness. I get much better fm reception with it powered. But you didn't mention which adapter you used but you said you weren't using the blue wire
You used the right one. We did not realize until we were putting it in we forgot the antenna adapter. The PAC kit comes with one. The store was closed so it did not get one. There will be a part 2 or more coming out, we will definitely bring that up. More cool stuff coming from idatalink.

Harry it’s actually dnx996xr this is the top of the line head unit not the ddx models . He made a mistake and put ddx so please don’t be confused. If you do get ddx model you will be disappointed since it will not have built in navigation and other features. So just remember dnx996xr is the one on this video

I used a Maestro RR for a 2011 Yukon XL and I can't hear the turn signals what do you think is the problem
Did it have the little speaker we used in this install? If not that would be why. It used to be sold separately

@@ibrheemmikbel8131 You either need to adjust the volume in the menu. We have two menus, one for chime volume and one for turn signals. OR, you are listening to the factory satellite radio tuner. When you are listening to the factory sat tuner, we are not able to generate the clicks in the speaker. However, the warning chime and message will happen if you leave your signal on for 1/4 of driving (factory feature). Hope this helps. This info is in the Owners Guide for the RR and your car that you got when you programmed it.

Maestro kit has option for parking sensor. My 2010 SS doesn't have them so I didn't select it in options, but I see it grayed out.
I have a 2010 Camaro with the PAC kit, I like it. But can I add the maestro with T harness when using the pac kit? I don't see a part number anywhere that shows the T harness for the 2010 Camaro unless I buy the entire Cam1 kit.
I ended up buying the entire kit, instructions are sure limited but after watching this explained a lot. I also bought a Kenwood ddx 9905s. Will just go with this kit, will fit in dash better. Now trying to figure out what the 3.5 jack with blue wire is for. Getting the web link to work was a few hours of trying, installed the desktop version of app and finally worked. Kept saying no active x installed etc. Way I got it to work, web link would throw a under maintenance, if i used windows. I went on my phone, registered for web link no prob, then it allowed me to go online to get into weblink. Restarted pc a few times and finally recognized the maestro rr. Once in the settings, was very simple setup.
Been using the maestro kit for awhile now and is great. I can see the lower gauges better than with the oem and pac kit, looks sleek, I do admit I liked the pac kit knobs, but couldn't hardly see the lower gauges. Only issue is I can't open the face to use CD, hangs up on the kit. I may be able to use thin plastic under or over stereo to give clearance. Is such a tight fit with the full size Kenwood 9905s, if I did it again would get the non cd version.
your problem lies in your transmission that's what a p0 700 is something's been detected as going on in your transmission
This kit isn’t aging well, especially with all the new tablet radios coming out. The PAC kit always looked better and with the PAC you still have access to the physical HVAC controls. Hopefully PAC will do an update with maestro-like functionality.
Did you plug the 3.5mm into the aux port on the aftermarket radio or the swc/rc port?
