This training, as presented by Illias and Cui is very useful, especially when it comes to fighting when sitting / generating forces without using feet
However, I believe that feet should be twisted, when it comes to fighting when standing
    1. It is natural for me to twist my feet
    2. Yiquan classic says 腰转似车轮 腿似钻 waist turns like car wheel feet like drills

I agree. But I also think, as my teacher used to say, 'no fixed way'. I think there is merit in both ways, in different situations. I know that there have to be rules to help people learn, but the sooner it's possible to break the rules when it's better do so, the better. Otherwise, I don't even see any point in yiquan. Who needs another ossified martial arts system?

that's true, whatever works it works, that's why I like about Yiquan.

You can see the back foot twist slightly at 5:40, it's not practical for fighting to try and keep them still

2:15 Ilias, you say that his hips aren't moving, that only his upper torso is moving... but bro, his hips ARE moving... I don't know why you say that his hips ARE NOT moving, when in fact they are moving... he is turning his hips...

I like the tiny bit I know of yiquan. But a lot of power can be generated using hips, legs and feet. Shifu Cui can be seen in this video using his hips. Turning the feet loses power if everything is perfect but seldom is perfect so foot turns can be helpful. (western boxers turn feet and hips) Many people do not know how to move from the waist. For this reason, I think this practice and focus is important.

Have been doing this exercise more often , while thinking about what Ilias says
It seems what i means by twisting feet and Ilias 's "the feet never move" are the same in action. Compared to western boxing, the feet indeed never move.
Compared to my standing and doing nothing, the feet do twist

Regarding rather the foot should twist in Yi Quan...isn't this a training excercise/form & not a actual fighting stance and/or technique? I ask in part because some responders seem to be answering from a the practicalities of the feet remaining planted while using this as a fighting form. Something I would question myself also.

Cet exercice n'est possible que si la coordination est transformée par le zhan zhuang. Si la masse viscérale n'est pas concentrée, que la coordination n'est modifiée alors c'est de l'imitation, inutile et vide.
