Not surprised the mother was apoplectic with anger at the announcement of the results. He admitted they were sleeping together between January and March; therefore the child could be born anywhere between September and November. By denying the mother's tears, the mother-in-law was completely offside. Either it was a lack empathy, or just a complete failure to understand human psychology. The pressure of being wrongfully-accused will take a toll on even the strongest of people. Good lucky to everybody involved, and God bless.

The purpose of a DNA is to establish paternity/maternity of the child in question, not an occasion to penalize and/or cast aspersion on anybody. These tests should be mandatory from Day 1 if not before.
