- Konark Sun Temple is a 13th-century CE Sun Temple at Konark in Orissa, India. The temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984. The entire temple is made in the form of a huge chariot of Sun God with 24 wheels (12 pairs) and pulled by 7 horses. This tmeple has 3 main strutures. The Dance Hall, Prayer Hall and Main Temple. The Dance Hall wall and pillars are carved with 277 Devadasi dance poses which is considered as the first form of Indian Classical Dance. The wall of the Prayer Hall showcases the famous love making sculptures and for this reason Konark Sun Temple is also called second Khajuraho Temple of India. The Main temple has already collapsed 80%. At western side of Sun Temple there is Temple of Chaya - the wife of Sun God. Another scientific marvel of the Konark Sun Temple is Sun-Dial which tells time accurately during day.

they renovate this temple very carefully... copy every mold and make a nicely every mold and replaced ... but due to global warming we lost many antiques now a days...that sad
Exactly, Archaeological Survey of India does a great job. And in case of Konark Sun Temple the erosion issue is further complicated by the salinity of sea breeze.
proud to be born in this type of state full of architectures.
🙏
I first visited the temple in 1977 with my parents. Then I saw the statue of Sun God in the temple. It was unique. It had hunting shoes on. That's astonishing
Yes there are many surprising figures on the walls of Konark Sun Temple. The figure that makes me wonder is the "Lady with High Hill". The modern day High Hill fashion were there 800 years ago!
Wow! a wonderful documentary. I was in Konark Sun temple during 2017 December and I am now preparing that video.
It is a wonderful to visit.

95% people don't know that the picture they see in books as Sun temple is not the temple , it's the " Jagamohana" of the temple ....Jagamohana is the middle pagoda like structure situated just in front of main temple and first part of the 3 parts of whole structure is called Natamandir or Dancing temple .....The tallest and main temple is ruined before 100s of years ....If u hv seen Jagannath temple then u can guess this Kalinga Utkala style temple design
Yes... Dancing Hall, Prayer Hall and Main Temple
Wow..indeed awesome documentry !!
Beautiful Temple Architecture..!!
Yes, it is a UNESCO World Heritage and one of the best temple architecture in India.
Exactly!
one can just imagine how grand it would have looked when it was not ruined.
I have provided a conjectural view of the temple at the very beginning of the movie

I just can't believe how terrible your captions are. The "imaginary snakes" are called Nagas and Nagis or Naginis....the lions are called yalis /yazhis and the "crocodile" as you called it on minute 15:11 is called a Makara...because it has the trunk of an elephant, the body of a crocodile and fish ears. I am not Indian and I know these terms, it would be fantastic it you would use the proper terminology, it's not that hard. You also mention at one point while describing a carving that "a man controls four women". Seriously???? Control??? What are we us women beasts for a man to control us? Omg! Unacceptable
Well I admit English is poor... He is a local guide.. He wanted to say "engaged with 4 women"... Sorry it hurt you... I apologize on his behalf...
