Settling in to watch this and listen. I am Looking forward to it. I hit the like button even before venturing in because just the subject is nothing but ❤. At this point in my life I need the intellectual stimulation of Catholics such as St. Thomas Aquinas, G.K. Chesterton, Dorothy Day and Russell Kirk. This grasp of our Catholic past urges me on to seeking out now “newer” Catholics whose world perspectives, life story, and expertise challenges me to be unafraid about speaking about the Catholic Church, by finally knowing what to say. Knowing which materials, people websites and podcasts to point those seeking people toward.
God Bless you Tammy 🙏! God loves us and the more we open up to God’s Grace, the more our lives become beautiful full of meaning and purpose, testify the truth and reflect goodness. There is indeed something that is practically indescribable when we have a relationship with our Almighty God through the presence of Christ in the Church, the Sacraments, worship and prayers; it is magical! God’s people are light that shines over mountains and salt that gives flavors to the earth. Please Papa, don’t cease to gather people to Yourself 🙏. May our sacrifices be acceptable to You with humble and grateful heart I pray 🙏.
Having the 'Humility' to 'surrender' to the 'Holy' Spirit sounds nice but it could very well mean 'Having been crushed by the powers that be to the point of surrendering to the Spirit of the Age (Zeitgeist)'. Unfortunately, this is oftentimes what 'Converting to the (woke) Catholic church' actually means nowadays... The Holy Spirit bears fruits of His own which are unmistakable - one of which being the ability to yield to the Truth and live by it. Time will tell. Hopefully, this is a real conversion to the ACTUAL Holy Spirit - and thank God if it is! Addendum: The strength of real Catholics is not in admitting their weaknesses - that's just the beginning. Their true strength - and it is real - is in accepting the Grace of God which makes them able to OVERCOME sin and lead TRULY SAINTLY LIVES. Instead of dwelling on our weaknesses, perhaps we would do well to reflect upon the liberating words of saint Paul to the Philippians (4:13): “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.”
How is the Vatican (or any church) woke? Because they don't all follow conservative extremist ideology, which goes against everything Jesus taught? And regarding the Pope, he's decidedly not progressive, not by U.S. standards. But really, labeling any arm of the Catholic church as being 'woke' without taking its entire history into account, is incredibly ironic.
