    Dry install the Piston and Rings. Only lube the wrist pin and clips. Lubing the cylinder creates carbon right away and poss that the rings dont seat good.
    1- Clean the piston with contact cleaner
    2- Wash the cylinder with Hot Soapy Dawn water and rinse will then clean with contact cleaner
    3- Install the Piston to the Rod with Assembly Lube
    4- Clean the cylinder out with contact cleaner
    5- Install the Cylinder Dry taking your time to make sure the rings seat correctly
    6- Re-assemble everything
    7- Fire it up and let it run until it pukes coolant
    8- Shut it down and let it fully cool
    9- Repeat step # 7 & # 8
    10- Go to the track and rip it
    I can promise that at your next piston change that your piston will be a lot cleaner and carbon free then installing with lube in the cylinder. Rings seat 110% better without lube!

      @@braaapdaps6814 been doing top end this way for years and no failures. Do some research a lot of top road racing teams do this. Try it you will be surprised at how clean the piston is at the next piston change (40 hrs)

    This is like rocket science compared to top end job on a 2 stroke..... id still love to do one, but man, what a ton of work......but with a 4 stroke, id imagine u don’t really need to do these jobs very much..

    Questing, I noticed my bike has had a bad valve tick, my valves are always in spec, but I noticed that my rocker arm shafts had slid out and are rubbing against the valve cover. There is no retainer clip for my rocker arms, is this something anyone else has experienced, and how do I fix it?

    I am pretty sure you never hone nikasil coated cylinders. Just scotch bright. Correct me if I am wrong.

      Have always light honed my nikasil cylinders before I've done all my 2 strokes.

    Ci vorrebbe un motore un cilindro e un pistone di centraggio e che la catena con un coperchio della distribuzione si possa cambiare dall esterno e le valvole auto registrabili il silenziatore a due nello stesso lato con piccoli silenziatori le forcelle con la bombola dell aria o gas sotto doppio freno o singolo con pinza generosa e molla del prolongò più grossa telaio in titanico .

      Nikasil lined cylinder..... The ball hone is just to deglaze it. It is not for sizing. These guys know more about building bikes than you have forgotten. When the cylinder gets out of size spec, it goes to Millenium etc for a replate. It is simply not worth it for a local shop to have the sort of tooling to hone Nikasil to size.

      @@wedgecharger what are you talking about? He said a "nice light hone to clean up marks" and "provide lubrication". NO competent mechanic ever uses a ball hone for sizing. They are just for light surface finishing. Why don't your read BRM's own statements regarding ball hones: " Flex-Hone® tools are not designed for heavy-duty material removal, but they do work like an abrasive scrub brush that removes combustion by products and the "glaze" that forms on used cylinder walls." THEY ARE NOT FOR SIZING. That does not mean they are cheap. They are a tool for a specific job.

Its like some sort of space machine engine, yeah it makes alot of power, but you need the backing of NASA to fund it. Oh scary, I would be up worrying about my cams, valve adjustments, AHHHHHHH!       You are a dolt. The 19/20 KX 450 is one of the finest MX bikes ever made. It feels lighter when riding than my 250 two stroke. It is an amazing bike.
