I have the 2022 Crafty R (Alloy) and I LOVE that bike. It's such a capable and well rounded machine. You can take it anywhere from windy singletrack to steep, gnarly terrain and it always feels confident and capable. It is a fantastically well rounded bike. I especially like the relatively steep head angle which keeps the handling nimble and sporty and then the long reach/wheelbase gives you good stability on steeper terrain. The frame feels very stiff and strong unlike some other bikes I have ridden that feel like the rear is held on with rubber bands (I am 100kg and ride pretty hard) and the Bosch system with the 750Wh battery is the best system I have ridden to date. I HIGHLY recommend this bike to anyone looking for a full power ebike that doesn't mind spending a bit more for quality. Bit dissapointed to see that they moved the charge port to the side where it's visible and messes with the clean lines. I think it was better hidden under the down tube where you couldn't see it although the new flap is a welcome change.
Indeed a wonderful bike! I’ve had it for 400 funn miles now (RR). I just changed the brakes to Trick-stuff’s and I’ve swopped the bar for a carbon Renthal fatbar. For me the bike is absolutely perfect now. 🎉
Very nice to see a review about Mondraker that is not that common in the woods. Will the 2023 spec carry over into 2024 or is it worth awaiting the 2024 models?
Glad you enjoyed the review! The 2023 Crafty is indeed the same bike in 2024. The same colour ways will be available in addition to new colours across all crafty models. More choice than ever before!

@@thecyclehub976 ok! So unless I want another colour or paint job, a MY 2023 will do 👏
@ The R models remain the same spec, there are a few spec differences on the RR models and above to account for newly released components this year; for example the new Carbon RR will come with T-Type GX AXS drivetrain, and all the RR Models and above will feature the updated design SRAM Code Bronze/Silver brakes. The frames all remain the same, as do the suspension specs and Bosch Componentry

@@chrishorsley9541 tanks! So the aluminium Crafty R that I aim for will be the same then...
If you're planning to mainly ride steep, technical terrain then I'd recommend the level. It's bigger, longer travel, heavier and more of a bruiser. If you want a better allrounder that can still hold its own on tough trails, the crafty is the one 🙌
On the new 750wH battery bikes the battery is fully enclosed, so can't be removed for remote charging. It can be taken out with a motor drop for servicing purposes if needs be 👍

Was it too complicated swaping brakes?

I'm hesitating between the crafty and the level, always had dh bikes before 150mm on the rear seems very short🤔

How tall are you and what size did you test ride.
5ft 11 and we had the size large for testing which was ideal!
@@thecyclehub976hi, I’m 5.9 and just between sizes of m and l, is it better to size up with these bikes?
@@thecyclehub976 OMG, that's crazy, u must been having extreme long arms :))
Is the battery removable on the RR? Can you charge it off the bike?

What size did you have and how tall are you?
Nick's riding the large here and is 5'11 👍
