  • Hello family , welcome to Namibia and to my TH-cam channel iam_marwa In this video we shall be answering ; Is Namibia a rich or poor country?
    Why is Namibia famous?
What is the former name of Namibia?
Is Namibia a good country to live in ? . Namibia, a country in southwest Africa, is distinguished by the Namib Desert along its Atlantic Ocean coast. The country is home to diverse wildlife, including a significant cheetah population. The capital, Windhoek, and coastal town Swakopmund contain German colonial-era buildings such as Windhoek's Christuskirche, built in 1907. In the north, Etosha National Park’s salt pan draws game including rhinos and giraffes.

Economy of Coast is fisheries, Mining and tourism as well as service industry. Namibia main port is there at Walvis Bay City. It's a port used by Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Southern Congo for import and export to the Americas and Europe.

Zambia is too far away mate, they are better served by Far Es Salaam port and they have been relying heavily on it since independence. Don't be confused by the map about Zambezi river borders.

Whilst Namibia does have a huge coastline with the Atlantic Ocean, the coast is unsuitable for a vacation or holiday and the water rich in sea life but not ideal for swimming.. The cold currents which make the waters does not make for pleasant or safe swimming, and regularly create heavy and cold coastal fog. Water temperatures rarely rise above 19 degrees Celsius and there are often rough wave that can carry you out to sea. There is also a risk of shark attacks there are 52 shark species. Therefore it is strongly advised to only swim where lifeguards are operating, and to avoid desolate and unguarded beaches. Drowning or near drowning frequently happens.

Marwa here are the things you need to do in Swakopmund...
Go do quadbiking like driving in the desert,,it is not expensive. You can go do it at Dune 7 the tallest dune.
Visit the camels like riding Camels
    Visit Dolphin park
    Visit the snake park
    Visit the seals
Visit Walvis Bay where almost everything is happening like industrial places if you would like.
And one thing is that the city is always busy during week days, weekend most things are closed and people are grooving.

Dear Rosio and other white people. Black wealthy people are "flashy" for the same reason Marwa told that smart, capable tour guide to buy new clothes so he could make a good impression. Some black ppl are flashy for the same reason that a fellow black female staff member in the grocery store told Miles and Marwa that they are not allowed to sit in a particular section because those seats are for foreigners and directed him to sit in the local section. Why did she assume Marwa was a local? Would she have said that if you were seated there? don't think so. Black ppl are perceived a certain way, White ppl can wear shorts and Crocs all day and walk into a Fendi or Gucci store and get served unfortunately it is not the same for black ppl. The flashiest ppl I have ever seen is the British Royal Family they have a Golden horse-pulled chariot they use for special occasions. Black culture is also different and that's ok, we are louder in our expressions, our songs, our colors, our dance, and music and that's why we have added an amazing flavour to pop culture and the world that can never be erased.

Good observation by Rocio. South Africa has the highest obesity rates in Africa at around 36% with Ethiopia having the lowest around 7% as their diet is mostly plant based.
Unfortunately the richer a country is the more they tend to eat fast foods which is not healthy if consumed a lot.

You know what marwa, Nambia has different environmental conditions, on the southern side, the is locky mountainous areas, e.g in swakopmund and Walvis bay there is a more coastal sea areas, deserts, wind conditions and windy. At the Northern side of Namibia, that is where you find more population where you find subsistence and mixed farming( agricultural),as source of activities more forest areas and rainfall. In the eastern side thre is higher rainfall due to more vegetation with think forest.

The cleanliness and beauty and the vibe you are getting is because of those responsible for the architecture, cleanliness, designs etc ....those who can manage to build in the desert. You have your answer from the nature of the people you see on the streets . I won't point that out. So the places became cleaner and more organised based on who was responsible for designing and building the nation.

That monument is commemorating WORLD WARS 1 and 2 from 1914 to 1918
    Then 1939 to 1945
especially the 2nd WAR where Germany was regarded as an antagonist.

"Exclusivity spells conflict, inclusivity spells harmony" -- Namibian President Hage Geingob
Empirically true but also, to avert neo-colonialism we need an African state created ground up[on some new land mass bought by some Mansa Musa and appointing leaders who will build a nation planned by Africans, with African architecture. Basically a brainchild of Africans for Africans and an accurate pride. So later when people visit this nation they say "Hey I visited the German of Africa!" much like Japan is the German of the Far East].
European stewarding in the name of inclusivity spells Neo-colonialism and keeps African nations poor. They[so-called liberated African nations] need to wake up and smell the coffee. They can. Blacks are pushed to think after they leave the motherland. They invented music genres[, etc] in the Americas and the Caribbean. Diaspora Africans spell swagger, basketball, reggae, etc. Back home in the motherland they are too lax. And we know the effects of this. Pisses me off why they think they'd get or deserve an equal footing or respect at the G20 yet.
I wonder who needs the accolade for the beauty of Windhoek or Swakopmund. They'll impose apartheid today with undertones.
Earn the respect. Fix DR Congo for example. 40% of what is needed for a lower carbon footprint approaching net zero could be sitting in Africa. Every nation needs a higher environmental performance index (EPI) lest mother nature keeps reminding them with episodes of its fury.
Make Wakanda happen all ye Africanas. Then spread it[in a good way].

Marwa, for the guy to be a tour guide, he needs to be registered by some local body to avoid people with ill motives. I am sure there are such procedures.

Not everywhere you can swim at Swakopmund, where they prohibited those activities, they can also be done at other beaches at Swakopmund. If they indicated no swimming it means it's not safe for you to swim there at all and don't try it. Swakopmund ocean can be dangerous.

Those antennas are cell towers...they are camouflaged to blend in for the enemies satellite surveillance, to not be able to lock-in and knock out all your communications at once. lol

My dear young you are so interesting and very funny at the same time. Again, I am sorry to tell you that Swakopmund doesn't look the way you are explaining it under your camera. your camera has spoiled everything and Swakopmund doesn't look like anything beautiful under your camera, because you are not just serious about how you hold your camera. all images look not really and your coming to Namibia seems to be a waste. your camera did not bring out the beauty of Namibia but spoiled it. please watch out the way you hold your camera and the angle from where you are shooting from.
