Another thing that needs pointing out, when the controller is trying to pair with the Mini 2, it says "push the pairing button on the bottom of the drone," where there ISN'T a "pairing button." You long press on the POWER BUTTON on the bottom of the Mini.

If the video is jittery or lagging, I would definitely not want to use the smart controller to fly it… most newer drone like the AIR 2S is having issue with the SC..

Hello, a little off topic, I will be in the Adirondack Mountains this week using my Mini 2 and IPad, can I fly it in Airplane mode as the IPad has no cellular capabilities? Airplane mode will help conserve battery as there is no power where we are going. Thank you!
Can the smart controller control two drones at once? Let the air 2/2s or any mavic drone that can fly in follow mode while another is manually controlled.
George the SC is really quick and easy to use to fly - no wires to connect, no phone battery to worry about, super bright screen. Just makes it that much easier to get flying and great view when you do - sounds silly until you try it and not having to connect wires, etc.
great video brother. a friend of mine gave me his old RC controller and it doesnt seem to connect with my mini 2. doesnt even have the option to (+) other drones. it only shows mini 3, and mavic pro drone. any recommendation?
@@FlytPath i just finished updating the firmware "your firmware is up to date", it added Mini 3, mavic 3 classic, mini3 pro, Mavic 3, Air2S in that order. no (+) button after. Im assuming its because im based in the Philippines? anyone else having the same issue. If anyone does let me know how you resolved it. thank you

@@FlytPath thank you, I have the mini 3 Pro with the RCN1 as I personally didn't believe it was worth the extra for a screen on the remote as the phone I use provides a better viewing experience, however if they do allow compatibility with the Original smart controller then I feel with the extra features it brings it will be worth it.
I have the first version SC, and it badly needs an upgrade. The touch sensitivity of the screen is horrible. I sent it back and they said there's nothing wrong with it, yet my iPhone has NO problems with touch controls. The SC has problems manipulating the photo controls, it wont recognize my fingers half the time, so I have a stylus tethered to the controller. DJI wouldn't admit there's a problem, and many of us older people with dry hands have this problem.
I love your videos I’m wondering if you can help me out. I purchased the Air 2 a month ago and I can’t get it to zoom when I’m in video or picture mode. I sent the drone and remote back to DJI and they returned it back to me yesterday and still no option to zoom and charge my phone while flying. I have an iPhone 12 and everything is updated. I’m very frustrated because DJI’S support is horrible.

I've just bought this controller, and no way will it connect to my Mini 2, I've tried EVERYTHING and it just will not connect at all, just beep beep beep beep. So annoyed that I wasted my money. *UPDATE* I had to update the aircraft firmware using the old controller, then do a Smart controller system firmware update (it took ages), then after multiple reboots I could add my Mini 2 in 'Aircraft Management', and eventually it linked (paired) straight away. It now works just fine, all I have left to do is bind it to my newly made DJI account.
How is the screen brightness on the smart controller? That's my biggest issue when flying my mini 2; the screens on any of my smart devices just aren't bright enough for some daylight conditions.
it's a great update .. SC compatibility is huge. and the other updates in that release are great too - overall really nice job by DJI. So glad to fly the mini 2 with the SC. I did the mini 2 update and battery update using the supplied controller, then did the SC update and linked the mini 2 to the SC. Also bound the mini 2 to the SC for flyaway coverage purposes.
Hello I'm a beginner. I own the Mavic air 2. I have a quick question that completely off subject. Let's say I record a 20 min. Video. Cache to my phone is fine. That same video when I go to download from the drone comes out 4 to 5 clips. 4min 50sec a piece. Is thus a easy fix? Am I doing something wrong? Please help. Thanks in advance, Sylvester

DJI support just told me that the mini 2 flight controller no longer charges your iPhone connected to it. This was a great feature publicised before as it ensured your iPhone does not run out of battery power. DISAPPOINTING!

Aldryn, don't you lose the "flyaway" protection when not using the original cpntroller that came with the Mini and also the 2S?
Mine always prompts me to bind the controller prior to takeoff so that attaches the controller to the drone for the flight for refresh protection.

I think it will shorten the time it takes to get in the air. There's nothing worse than extensive set ups to get a shot before the moment passes.
