Sony/Naughty Dog released both franchises of Uncharted and The Last of Us that we're strictly exclusivites for only Playstation but then brought those games to Microsoft. Have you seen the spike in sales for microsoft after that came out to the public? Several reputable sources say it's a chance (emphasis on chance) as "confirmed" by Microsoft itself. Obviously, a handful of salt is to be taken, as even if they aren't bullshitting, I doubt Microsoft would actually go through with giving Sony any Ws.

The thing is, Ms released 4 nothing games on the ps5 to experiment and those nothing games made a HUGE jump on the sales chart. So Ms is now thinking “imagine what’s going to happen if we released the real games”. They’re all coming for sure and they’re all going to sell BIG on the PlayStation
Microsoft want more halo players. Spread halo around, and then release the latest halo on gamepass. The plan is simple. Xbox's physical presence will dissolve into the digital realm entirely. That said, I'm not sure about Halo moving unless Sony allow Gamepass on there... but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. Gears is moving 100%
I'd love to see Halo on Playstation. I was raised in an Xbox home since the original and Halo is my favorite game. I don't play games anymore but when I do it's always MCC. I want others to experience Halo and love it
@@Arander92 I personally love infinite. The story is not the greatest but the gameplay is wonderful. I love the art style and music. Im excited for the halo CE remake and halo 7. The harbinger from halo infinite seems like a prelude to the bigger figure coming in halo 7. You can be as negative as you want I enjoyed playing infinite. I think “the weapon” is a good way of correcting the disaster that Cortana was in halo 5.

Horizon doesn't carry the weight nor the sales halo does/should, halo is the game that jump started Xbox and has always been Xbox's flagship franchise. Master chief is the face of Xbox, you cannot compare the same. An equal situation would be god of war going to Xbox which will never happen

It's not really a surprise when Microsoft has been moving further away from selling their xbox consoles for the last decade. The fact xbox fans still ignore this is what baffles me, especially when Microsoft has been so hard on pushing Gamepass that they don't even try to make the Xbox something to buy. Only reason Series X even came out is because Microsoft didn't have the means to get their software onto other consoles, but that's quickly no longer becoming the case. So yeah, I can honestly see either the Series X or the next console be the last Xbox as Xbox goes the same route Sega did.

I'm not denying nor admitting anything because i don't work for MS. At the same time, all we got was some cheap cartoons that had a small dedicated fambase. We never got any M rated games. I play on PC we basically get both Xbox and PS games already so it's the best of both worlds and Nintendo I can just emulate it so I don't mind if more people play games I like let's fill up more lobbies! (This is my take) Also Xbox series consoles are basically smaller PC like the steam machines used to be also with cross play I don't mind !
i think xbox should keep the campaigns on there console for halo and gears of war but put the multiplayer on every console. i think this would be best for any of xboxs games that have both campaign and mulitplayer. having multiplayer tied to one platform is never a good idea

There have been multiple times throughout the years where people have said things like "this is gonna kill Microsoft," or Nintendo, or Sony, insert whatever gaming giant. Guess what - they're all still here. That said, if a 20+ year old Xbox game goes to another platform, it wouldn't hurt its parent platform. It would gain interest from people who didn't play it before, and would lead to more people buying Xbox to be able to play the rest of the series on its home consoles. It would be a smart business move in the long run. This exact thing has happened with other IPs in the past, and it did nothing but good for them. The biggest example of that is Final Fantasy.
I think you’re way behind on the news Xbox has been done, it’s been sold by PlayStation and Nintendo probably two to one if not worse for the last 10+ years this is the best move. Microsoft could make maybe just maybe some PlayStation friends will enjoy the game and decide they need to buy an Xbox to play part 2-3-4- unfortunately, 5 and infinite.
I'm convinced the only way forward for Microsoft is to release a "gamer's variant" of Windows to compete directly with Steam OS (but with better compatability, being a variant of Windows), making Xbox consoles effectively a *baseline* PC standard for developers to aim for. Anything less than that, such as this half-hearted approach to a console ecosystem where Microsoft's IP are still released on the PS5 or Switch, is quite simply going to drive away Xbox fans and kill the brand overall.
Microsoft caring about the players is the best thing. Exclusivity is the worst thing in gaming and for players. Microsoft doesn’t care about their identity as they ain’t greedy like Sony(still delaying PC ports). I am totally in for this as everyone will be play the games no one will be left out and hence increase player count too.
Not only is Exclusivity archaic, the industry cannot sustain the model anymore. If players continually want bigger and better games there’s no possible way there’s enough players to sustain it without releasing on multiple platforms. The budgets to make AAA games is too high and aren’t selling enough to make up for it. Sony is trouble too. They know it.
Also, the "just get a PC" argument is a lazy copout. Even a half-decent gaming computer costs more than getting 2 consoles at once, so likely people will still just get the console, even IF what you're speculating comes to pass, and that's still a very big if at this point.
I think that the idea of specific games going multiplat - games where it benefits itself and Xbox, should be the approach they take; they get to still have the Xbox platform but maximize specific game's success which would in turn bolster people's sentiment with the brand, especially people who haven't really tried the platform. That could lead to them trying out the ecosystem with GP, Cloud, new Handheld?, Lower-tier console like Series S, or even through a PC or TV! I feel like Xbox currently is over compensating by looking at the increased game sales on other platforms. To me from a perspective as just an observer, it probably is the best business move to put your games everywhere and relinquish the brand by becoming essentially a publisher who sells a machine. Keep and improve the best parts of the business and then cut your losses as much as you can overtime i.e selling a machine that won't be competitive to 1st place and 2nd, gamepass, etc. They haven't been able to fufill what they did in previous generations with console sales and games but, I don't want that to happen and don't think they should do that. I broadly believe that what can make a business/brand great is what could be, which is derived from what is. From my memory, there was an Xbox employee who said that Xbox now is "Microsoft Gaming" and honestly if they go fully multiplat, I truly do think that "Xbox" is gone and what-is, is "Microsoft gaming", but as of me writing this comment nothing is confirmed and the reporting is about their internal discussion. Without assuming anything "Xbox" still remains in some capacity off of what we know. Key word "know". Personally, a lot of Xbox for me is embodied in Phil, which I understand that other people hold him responsible for the recent shakeups with Xbox but as I see it, Xbox really should've died after the One release. When they revealed that console they literally shed their skin of what they used to look like (Xbox), and adopted a hybrid position that fundamentally wasn't "Xbox". I believe they are facing this type of decision again today. But, Phil and his direction revitalized Xbox at that time and I think that effort speaks more than what happened recently with studio closures and the other mistakes they've made, because all those questions floating around about why Tango and Arkane Austin got closed were never offically got answered to the public like with their other mistakes so we don't truly know - just speculation. As for the internal memo, the reason they stated for the closure was for "reinvestment in other parts of their portfolio" and being "spread out too thin" but I don't see this as the same as Xbox leadership coming out and basically answering to gamers about studio closures. Looking at the memo in good faith which is how I think it should be understood, I think that was a temporary communication internally following studio closures meant to address employees, their job security, and keep their teams in the loop with leadership rather than actually provide insight on why those studios were closed to a transparent degree. "Xbox" tries to be upfront, honest, passionate and genuine about their business to the public but isn't consistent with their own rhetoric, which is the biggest frustration because if it was the other way around with no communication, they would be seen more as a business or more "microsoft" and people wouldn't invest so much into them nor would they be dissapointed as much (kinda like Sony with Playstation). They really suck at being "Xbox". They really really do. They try sometimes and have succeed but in history, their failures always have more gravity and outnumber their sucesses. But like I said earlier "Xbox" to me is about what can be based on what we have had (the greatest parts/times im talking about) and they should literally just say f it and be consistent in that direction. For me as a fan, I care more about what Phil and the Xbox team are going to say at the IGN panel more than the games showcase although I still do want to see cool games. That is the moment, personally, that will decide if they are Xbox or microsoft gaming. And if they proclaim they are still Xbox, the scrutiny they will get is deserved and they must not prove it like it has been said before but actually be Xbox, that brand that has so much potential. I believe this is the real last chance they will get, out of the so many they have gotten, to be Xbox because if they fail I think many fans - not all - but many will declare and pronounce Xbox truly dead and there won't be a postmortem. Keep in mind I am 32 years old and halo combat evolved was like the most epic video game when I was 10. I loved the new halo but I wouldn't be upset if it came to ps5. It would at least make sense to not put a new halo right away on playstation. Let's say they out the old halos on ps5 then released a new halo on xbox. People might buy a xbox to play the new one if they just became a fan and became obsessed with halo. Honestly I only have an xbox series x and a ps4. I wouldnt be upset if most games were only timed exclusives. When I was a only ps4 user I didn't like most of the ps4 exclusives so that's why I switched back to xbox. Halo combat evolved is a really outdated game. The only way it would make sense to purchase it is if they completely remade it. Or it was much cheaper.
Am I crazy to think that Microsoft maybe went a step too far with integrating their software with you at home Microsoft systems? Since they made it possible to play on my Xbox live account on my PC, I’ve never felt the need to own an Xbox. The PlayStation has always covered everything else. In my opinion the end started there. @@M8xGerth if we consider being on PC to be what rids a title of "console exclusive" than Xbox has very few exclusives over its entire lifespan thanks to gamepass. Which sucks because Gears and Halo solidified the Xbox outright and now they aren't exclusive to the console. Xboxes in the current state of things are just a cheaper way to play games that would run, look, and feel significantly better on a PC which is possible thanks to gamepass. Only reason Microsoft hasn't cut the Xbox production line is because not everyone will by a PC. If everyone bought a PC making Xbox consoles would be a waste of money. The next system is confirmed to be all digital. So any physical media will be useless next gen. Making more users buy gamepass which will lower people buying full price $70 games which in the long run means those games make even less money. Instead of buying an Xbox and copy of Starfield my dad bought gamepass for a month on PC and canceled his subscription after he was done. Essentially meaning he got the game for $10 and most of that will never see Bethesda. The climate Microsoft are pushing is what is harming their console and game market. Monster Hunter Stories Remaster isn't coming to the system mostly because Capcom couldn't get it on Gamepass.
Xbox as a console will probably not be around within the next 10-15 years, but that's not to say their games will go away, they have too many brands under their belt and it's FAR too big a money maker for them to ever cut ties with all of that truly. It's like they themselves said, more platforms=more money. Competition will exist, I can't really ever see Nintendo going down this same road. PlayStation will open up more with their exclusives coming to PC but there's really no way Xbox can continue to thrive in this same way. No one is buying an Xbox anymore, and it's not really fair to punish the consumer for not wanting a platform with no games.

I agree, and I do think Xbox is unfortunately dying in the same way as Disney right now is (bad decisions), I hope Xbox will change but so far it keeps getting worse. I got a really good pc instead of Xbox series x because PS5 had the games I wanted and the few that Microsoft had were also on pc. (side note. The Xbox/pc games I liked did badly and Microsoft has abandoned them anyway.)

The issue with Microsoft for me is all the double speak, i just don't trust them anymore, so when these rumours come out i believe them because MS does nothing to quell them. Boohoo. I hate exclusivity so this is a good thing in my opinion. I won't be surprised if Xbox is transitioning to a non-exclusive game publisher like EA. Really, why limit your player base at all? It used to be that consoles had special hardware that wasn't available to general purpose PCs, but now that a lot of PCs, and even phones, are getting even better than any dedicated console, tying yourself to specific hardware is a losing proposition. Heck, i can't even see how Switch 2 can have a lengthy life when even the most basic phones will be superior to it. Xbox saw the writing on the wall and are transitioning as required.

It's not really a surprise when Microsoft has been moving further away from selling their xbox consoles for the last decade. The fact xbox fans still ignore this is what baffles me, especially when Microsoft has been so hard on pushing Gamepass that they don't even try to make the Xbox something to buy. Only reason Series X even came out is because Microsoft didn't have the means to get their software onto other consoles, but that's quickly no longer becoming the case. So yeah, I can honestly see either the Series X or the next console be the last Xbox as Xbox goes the same route Sega did.
So a 23 year old game going to PS means Xbox is done? Yeah...I don't think so.
If it does go on the PlayStation, it just would mean more people get to play Halo.

I also didnt know that Miles Morales, Spiderman 2, Forbidden West, Rise of the Ronin, Helldivers 2, Final Fantasy 16, were no games.....in contrast all Xbox has is Halo, Redfall, Starfield, & Hellblade.......if you're going to nuh uh me with racing and last gen 2019 games, nobody cares, same as you don't care about me mentioning Bloodborne and Days Gone. Now I think Hellblade & Stalker 2 look beyond amazing, I'm not a console warrior, but what I speak here can't be disputed. I'm not denying nor admitting anything because i don't work for MS. At the same time, all we got was some cheap cartoons that had a small dedicated fambase. We never got any M rated games. These consoles are nearly 4 years old. Will we continue this convo at year 5, if there isn't anything else besides indie and cartoon games ported over?

I play on PC we basically get both Xbox and PS games already so it's the best of both worlds and Nintendo I can just emulate it so I don't mind if more people play games I like let's fill up more lobbies! (This is my take) Also Xbox series consoles are basically smaller PC like the steam machines used to be also with cross play I don't mind !

i think xbox should keep the campaigns on there console for halo and gears of war but put the multiplayer on every console. i think this would be best for any of xboxs games that have both campaign and mulitplayer. having multiplayer tied to one platform is never a good idea

There have been multiple times throughout the years where people have said things like "this is gonna kill Microsoft," or Nintendo, or Sony, insert whatever gaming giant. Guess what - they're all still here.
That said, if a 20+ year old Xbox game goes to another platform, it wouldn't hurt its parent platform. It would gain interest from people who didn't play it before, and would lead to more people buying Xbox to be able to play the rest of the series on its home consoles. It would be a smart business move in the long run.
This exact thing has happened with other IPs in the past, and it did nothing but good for them. The biggest example of that is Final Fantasy.

I think you’re way behind on the news Xbox has been done, it’s been sold by PlayStation and Nintendo probably two to one if not worse for the last 10+ years this is the best move. Microsoft could make maybe just maybe some PlayStation friends will enjoy the game and decide they need to buy an Xbox to play part 2-3-4- unfortunately, 5 and infinite.
I'm convinced the only way forward for Microsoft is to release a "gamer's variant" of Windows to compete directly with Steam OS (but with better compatability, being a variant of Windows), making Xbox consoles effectively a *baseline* PC standard for developers to aim for.
Anything less than that, such as this half-hearted approach to a console ecosystem where Microsoft's IP are still released on the PS5 or Switch, is quite simply going to drive away Xbox fans and kill the brand overall.
Microsoft caring about the players is the best thing. Exclusivity is the worst thing in gaming and for players. Microsoft doesn’t care about their identity as they ain’t greedy like Sony(still delaying PC ports). I am totally in for this as everyone will be play the games no one will be left out and hence increase player count too.
Not only is Exclusivity archaic, the industry cannot sustain the model anymore.
If players continually want bigger and better games there’s no possible way there’s enough players to sustain it without releasing on multiple platforms.
The budgets to make AAA games is too high and aren’t selling enough to make up for it. Sony is trouble too. They know it.

I think that the idea of specific games going multiplat - games where it benefits itself and Xbox, should be the approach they take; they get to still have the Xbox platform but maximize specific game's success which would in turn bolster people's sentiment with the brand, especially people who haven't really tried the platform. That could lead to them trying out the ecosystem with GP, Cloud, new Handheld?, Lower-tier console like Series S, or even through a PC or TV! I feel like Xbox currently is over compensating by looking at the increased game sales on other platforms.
To me from a perspective as just an observer, it probably is the best business move to put your games everywhere and relinquish the brand by becoming essentially a publisher who sells a machine. Keep and improve the best parts of the business and then cut your losses as much as you can overtime i.e selling a machine that won't be competitive to 1st place and 2nd, gamepass, etc. They haven't been able to fufill what they did in previous generations with console sales and games but, I don't want that to happen and don't think they should do that. I broadly believe that what can make a business/brand great is what could be, which is derived from what is.
From my memory, there was an Xbox employee who said that Xbox now is "Microsoft Gaming" and honestly if they go fully multiplat, I truly do think that "Xbox" is gone and what-is, is "Microsoft gaming", but as of me writing this comment nothing is confirmed and the reporting is about their internal discussion. Without assuming anything "Xbox" still remains in some capacity off of what we know. Key word "know".
Personally, a lot of Xbox for me is embodied in Phil, which I understand that other people hold him responsible for the recent shakeups with Xbox but as I see it, Xbox really should've died after the One release. When they revealed that console they literally shed their skin of what they used to look like (Xbox), and adopted a hybrid position that fundamentally wasn't "Xbox". I believe they are facing this type of decision again today. But, Phil and his direction revitalized Xbox at that time and I think that effort speaks more than what happened recently with studio closures and the other mistakes they've made, because all those questions floating around about why Tango and Arkane Austin got closed were never offically got answered to the public like with their other mistakes so we don't truly know - just speculation. As for the internal memo, the reason they stated for the closure was for "reinvestment in other parts of their portfolio" and being "spread out too thin" but I don't see this as the same as Xbox leadership coming out and basically answering to gamers about studio closures. Looking at the memo in good faith which is how I think it should be understood, I think that was a temporary communication internally following studio closures meant to address employees, their job security, and keep their teams in the loop with leadership rather than actually provide insight on why those studios were closed to a transparent degree.
"Xbox" tries to be upfront, honest, passionate and genuine about their business to the public but isn't consistent with their own rhetoric, which is the biggest frustration because if it was the other way around with no communication, they would be seen more as a business or more "microsoft" and people wouldn't invest so much into them nor would they be dissapointed as much (kinda like Sony with Playstation). They really suck at being "Xbox". They really really do. They try sometimes and have succeed but in history, their failures always have more gravity and outnumber their sucesses. But like I said earlier "Xbox" to me is about what can be based on what we have had (the greatest parts/times im talking about) and they should literally just say f it and be consistent in that direction. For me as a fan, I care more about what Phil and the Xbox team are going to say at the IGN panel more than the games showcase although I still do want to see cool games. That is the moment, personally, that will decide if they are Xbox or microsoft gaming. And if they proclaim they are still Xbox, the scrutiny they will get is deserved and they must not prove it like it has been said before but actually be Xbox, that brand that has so much potential. I believe this is the real last chance they will get, out of the so many they have gotten, to be Xbox because if they fail I think many fans - not all - but many will declare and pronounce Xbox truly dead and there won't be a postmortem.
So yeah basically Halo don't leave!

When I was a only ps4 user I didn't like most of the ps4 exclusives so that's why I switched back to xbox.

Am I crazy to think that Microsoft maybe went a step too far with integrating their software with you at home Microsoft systems? Since they made it possible to play on my Xbox live account on my PC, I’ve never felt the need to own an Xbox. The PlayStation has always covered everything else. In my opinion the end started there. @@M8xGerth if we consider being on PC to be what rids a title of "console exclusive" than Xbox has very few exclusives over its entire lifespan thanks to gamepass. Which sucks because Gears and Halo solidified the Xbox outright and now they aren't exclusive to the console. Xboxes in the current state of things are just a cheaper way to play games that would run, look, and feel significantly better on a PC which is possible thanks to gamepass. Only reason Microsoft hasn't cut the Xbox production line is because not everyone will by a PC. If everyone bought a PC making Xbox consoles would be a waste of money. The next system is confirmed to be all digital. So any physical media will be useless next gen. Making more users buy gamepass which will lower people buying full price $70 games which in the long run means those games make even less money. Instead of buying an Xbox and copy of Starfield my dad bought gamepass for a month on PC and canceled his subscription after he was done. Essentially meaning he got the game for $10 and most of that will never see Bethesda. The climate Microsoft are pushing is what is harming their console and game market. Monster Hunter Stories Remaster isn't coming to the system mostly because Capcom couldn't get it on Gamepass.
Xbox as a console will probably not be around within the next 10-15 years, but that's not to say their games will go away, they have too many brands under their belt and it's FAR too big a money maker for them to ever cut ties with all of that truly.
It's like they themselves said, more platforms=more money. Competition will exist, I can't really ever see Nintendo going down this same road. PlayStation will open up more with their exclusives coming to PC but there's really no way Xbox can continue to thrive in this same way. No one is buying an Xbox anymore, and it's not really fair to punish the consumer for not wanting a platform with no games.

I got a really good pc instead of Xbox series x because PS5 had the games I wanted and the few that Microsoft had were also on pc. (side note. The Xbox/pc games I liked did badly and Microsoft has abandoned them anyway.)

The issue with Microsoft for me is all the double speak, i just don't trust them anymore, so when these rumours come out i believe them because MS does nothing to quell them. Best thing i did was go to PS5 for my console gaming, a lesser evil. Even though PS5 isn't much better. I am just sick of MS's bullshit if i'm honest. I don't want to be part of an ecosystem that the creators themselves have no faith in. PC will be the future when PlayStation and Xbox finally die(which i believe they will with this direction of diluting their consoles.

Boohoo. I hate exclusivity so this is a good thing in my opinion. I won't be surprised if Xbox is transitioning to a non-exclusive game publisher like EA. Really, why limit your player base at all? It used to be that consoles had special hardware that wasn't available to general purpose PCs, but now that a lot of PCs, and even phones, are getting even better than any dedicated console, tying yourself to specific hardware is a losing proposition. Heck, i can't even see how Switch 2 can have a lengthy life when even the most basic phones will be superior to it. Xbox saw the writing on the wall and are transitioning as required.
