We have two imported 100 series Hiaces, a SC and an SCL. Front washer fluid reservoir is by the ingress/egress step on the passenger front (visible at 13:22, you almost touched it), what you showed was the rear washer reservoir at 5:28. Where you said the footrest is on the passenger side for the 2nd row is where the battery resides. These will cruise interstate speeds all day long.
This was a very detailed and helpful review, so thanks! I’m looking at potentially buying one, but the one I’m looking at is a few hours away. I’m wondering how the fit was with the drivers seat for a taller person? I’m 6’ 1” tall and sometimes the older Tacomas seem a bit cramped for taller drivers. Any feedback on that would be much appreciated!
Thanks, really appreciate it! From what I remember when driving it, I didn't have any height issues, and I'm 6' 1" myself. That said, I feel like I do sit closer to the steering wheel than most people though.
I’ve been trying so hard to find info comparing the RWD models to the 4WD models. Do you have any insight there? What would I be missing without 4WD (other than off roading )
It seems that didn't make the last cut for the video! That said, you can watch for it's location near the beginning of this short on my channel: th-cam.com/users/shortsbg7XknHmx_A
'Rain Gutters' i.e. 'Rust Gutters'. As good as these are for directing rain, which isnt really good at all. They were good for catching dirt and grime where it would lay and ultimately, cause rust.
Very true! I just saw another one that other day, same color! If I remember right, the Toyota Previa that we got in the USA from this generation was also this color.
Did they actually crash test them or chose just to keep them for elsewhere? I used to drive Astro Vans, when crash testing occurred they stopped making them
Only a few changes would be needed to make it legal in the US. This vehicle would absolutely dominate the US market for van lifers and those who want a small reliable RV conversion. The Previa is too small. I will NOT buy a piece of trash Dodge based van. Or Ford. Or Mercedes. This is the only option, which is why I do not currently own a camper van. Toyota seems absolutely clueless as to what the American market wants. Proof of this is that it took 20 years to bring back the Land Cruiser. How can a company this successful be so ridiculously blind?

Interesting! Thanks for the additional input on this!
The windshield washer fluid goes in the passenger door jam at the step to get in, the one your showed was for the rear washer only.
Thanks! Yes, I did say the wrong thing on that!
Wow thanks for the .03 sec view of the engine. Such insightful, much wow
Welcome!
Hi, what is Lift kit you used, and your tire size and rims?
Just bought HiAce 1999 with nearly 117.000Km in Canada, really cool Car
That would be absolutely sick for a cross country road trip
Yes it would! These would be perfect for overlanding.
@@readysetrevI’m currently in a 1996 manual that is a overlander/Camper!!
Nice rig.... I was surprised to learn that it has airbags. SUPER good since you have zero buffer from a head on collision.
No kidding!

That's a great question! I unfortunately don't have a ton of experience on that end.
Great review, but where is the fridge you mentioned?

That is a great point!
my family has one However. Due to it's long use for Hauling things The condition deteriorated. It's a good Vehicle somehow.
That stinks its deteriorating! However glad to hear they are getting used!
Its a reliable work horse 🐎🐎❤
Would have been great to get a review of driving.
Yeah, this was an older review where I hadn't figured that out quite yet!
we in southeast asia have many of these HIACE vans
I'm sure!
That color is hi Ace till the end of time. When I see that color it's hi Ace .

we have in USA seattle in stock 250 rhd jdm, they are not a popular in USA!!!
nice car...
It was a blast to review!
These were never sold in the US because they didn’t pass our crash test standards.
You are exactly right!
Did they actually crash test them or chose just to keep them for elsewhere?

It is quite the bummer that we never got the HiAce in the USA! This was one of my favorite reviews last year.
