Denise Sykes Hi I hope that you enjoy your walk as much as we did and keep an eye out for those moments. There very easy to walk straight past. 👍 Regards WM
Yes it’s pretty spectacular, It’s a classic and I suspect I will go back one day with the drone and get an aerial view. I have subscribed back and look forward to taking a look at your videos. Thanks for the comment. All the best. Regards James
Cheers thanks for watching, hopefully I should have some more ridges coming up in the summer. I going to check your channel out, it's always nice to see like minded people channels. Regards James
Fantastic... Also love the vintage berghaus Mera Peak... One of the best jackets around even today..... Fantastic colourway as well.... How long a climb is it across hellvelyn please....
It's a steady couple of hours Bob but well worth the effort. Glad you liked the classic gear, I will pass it on to him he will be impressed. All the best.
@@wasdalemanexploringoutdoor5137 fantastic I need to do this in the summer hopefully... And yes of school berghaus is the best... Stay safe and have fun...
I have always wanted to venture further to striding edge but my legs kept turning to jelly. I saw a utube video of an old man walking it with a walking stick so I will now be doing it with my rambling scrambling dog, Koda. Thanks for inspiring me to do this one.
I have never been to the Lake District. I admire people as brave as yourself, Wasdale Man. The highest I have ever climbed is Cromer Church, which is 160ft high.
In the correct conditions this is a fairly straightforward walk, there just a couple of obstacles to navigate towards the end that I found. I think I will go back one day and see if I can see a more straight forward way around them. I think my wife would be more interested in coming with me on this one then. Thanks for the kind comment and all the best. Regards James
Thank you for the positive comment. I have often thought about going back and revisiting this as it seems to be a classic. It looks very exsposed but I think its not so bad in real life. All the best Regards James
Nicely put together James and looks great weather for it as well. I hope to do this with my son this year but I want to get over there at first light, so the challenge is getting him out for bed that early! Cheers Alan
Thanks Alan It's a cracking walk and that's why so many people do it, it would be great to start on striding edge just as the sun comes up the light would be amazing. Good luck ! You have given me an idea myself. Regards James
WhoDaresWalks I had the same thing happen to me and that's why I went back. It's a cracking walk when you get clear views. Thanks for commenting. Regards James
We done catbells a couple of weeks ago, hoping to do helvellyn via striding edge then back down over swirral edge next week. Any little tips we could use would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 😀
Hi Nat I’ve done it in different types of conditions and I would always say choose nice conditions, for example dry and not too windy. It doesn't have to be a really exposed walk as you can pick your routes around obstacles, don’t forget to look out for the memorials as you can walk straight past them. Above all take your time and enjoy it.. Hope that it goes well. All the best Regards James
Im watching the forcast, so far its going to be hot and dry all week so fingers crossed. Thank you for the advice and we will absolutely keep an eye out for the memorials. Love your videos, we are using them as a rough guide for our walks 😁 subbed and hope to see many more beautiful walks from you guys!
Nat Really glad that you like the videos, it’s nice to here that your getting something out of them. I use the free os locate application on my phone just to make sure I don’t miss interesting stuff, you may have already used it. We are putting a really nice video of Blea tarn up in the next week, it’s one of the beautiful walks we have done. Thanks for the positive comments. Regards James and Kirsteen
Hi James really enjoyed this video I’ve done Helvellyn a couple of times and was very lucky both times with the weather it’s a great ridge to walk across in good conditions thanks for sharing your adventures and subscribing to my channel atb Glenn
Cheers Glenn Its definitely a walk to be appreciated in good conditions, I took my mate once when it was really misty and it really freaked him out not seeing what was below us. All the best.
Hi Olly hope that you are well. The weather makes this one, I’ve done it a few times and once you couldn’t see five metres in any direction. After that I always said unless the conditions were spot on it’s just not worth it, purely because the views are just too goo to miss. But a great walk all in all. All the best regards. James
Just starting my way through your videos, a great start, some awesome scenery. Great video with some stunning photography. Thank you so much for the subscription, i have subbed back :-) on to the next video ATB Mark

Denise Sykes Its surprising how you can pick a nice route over to avoid feeling so exposed, pick a nice day and have a great time.

Nice one Wasdale Man, done this years ago in heavy cloud but need to do it in clearer weather to get those views you had.

Great views, James. I've seen many other videos of this walk or similar, where others have been far less fortunate with the weather. :-)
