Would love to see it when it grow tall. Ik photographers going to want pay a visit for some Hmong photoshoot instead of having to travel so far out of state. You guys probably going to have to charge entrance fee for photographers like American people do. First time Fresno will have a hmong bamboo forest and not have to travel so far. Nice.

In North Carolina it only takes 3 to 4 years for it to mature and then there are plenty of bamboo shoots coming up from the ground, love to see them in Fresno, my home town

Would love to plant Bamboo...but the contract is not very good for the growers for the first 5yrs(from MOSO). In 5yrs, the average grower would not able to produce enough bamboo and make a profit at $20,000 per acre. Which mean that 10 acre would cost you $200,000 not including all your labor/resources/land/utilities/fees/insurance/unforeseen expenses for the next 5yrs. Since the bamboo takes 5yrs to mature and be harvest at perfect condition. Since the shoots are the most valuable at $3-$4 per lb, I estimate that an acre would yield 2500/3000lb of shoot per year. Thus it would give you $12,000 per acre times 10 and you get $120,000 after the 5th year. Now you subtract all the business cost for the 5yrs and I'll estimate that you would be roughly at -$145,000. It's a rough estimate, but it would be hard to swallow such a large debt for 5yrs.
Thank you for the analysis Kao. As in any business, investments involve risks. Investment is a long term strategy. Anyone who is interested in any business must have the operating fund to weather any unexpected situations and until the business produces income.
@@MeeLoNengStudio Yes, you are correct. This is a long term investment and you must have the capital to sustain the business for the first 5yrs. After that you can start making a profit...but everything has to be almost perfect to do so in this business. MOSO says they'll cover half of every $20,000 but the loan will need to be paid back before the 5th year. I can't see this being profitable unless the price or contract are adjusted to help the growers.
