    I dont think people realize how significant this is in a scientifically historic nature. We have pictures of the surface of another planet. ANOTHER PLANET! It's amazing how the last 4 or 5 years have been a boom of information about the cosmos. Just wish I could be around to see the future of it.

      Probably not. The one problem we can't really solve is that of gravity. We are not built for 1/3 of Earth's gravity, and that is what we would get on Mars. For instance, there is some evidence a successful pregnancy might require gravity close to what we find on Earth. We could fake gravity by having something like trains moving in circles at very high speed and banked over almost on their sides, but (1) should the train derail for any reason at any time, it would kill everyone on board, (2) getting things and people on and off the trains would be a hassle, and (3) what's the point of being on a planet if you're stuck in an artificial device like a train -- not even able to appreciate the horizon?

      For all we know we could have lived on mars once and already made these same mistakes and it would have cost us all our advancements and reset us so far back that any knowledge of the past would have been lost. Really makes you think even if it is just a crazy theory. Also makes you wonder how the Mayans were able to know so much about the stars and planets. Or how the Egyptians were able to finely craft their sarcophagus' with millimeter precision.

    Outstanding footage! Don't know if anyone noticed but near the end of the video Perserverance was panning across what looked like a ridge of rocks. It gave me goosebumps because it looked like the remnants of a stone wall that may have been part of an ancient city. With so many rocks scattered about, and half buried in the sand, How did they all get there? Glacial activity, wind storms? And how did they fragment into what we see now? So many questions and so few answers. Lets hope we find out more about our terrestrial neighbor. Wish I was young enough and strong enough to qualify for the first Martian Colony. I would go in a heartbeat.

      Space exploration helps to address fundamental questions about our place in the Universe and the history of our solar system, and the Perseverance rover is attempting to find signs of ancient life on Mars. Mars is an excellent place to investigate this question because it is the most similar planet to Earth in the Solar System. Evidence suggests that Mars was once full of water, warmer and had a thicker atmosphere, offering a potentially habitable environment. It is not just hd rocks. It is a world that can tell us a lot about our planet, ourselves and whether we are alone.

      @@denissemedina6023 It works the same way as a satellite sending signals from orbit to Earth. Radio waves don't get disrupted as easily as other information transfer methods, which allows us to receive information from long distances, hence how we are able to get images from devices like the hubble space telescope and other telescopes in space. With a mission to Mars, Nasa had to likely run many simulations using everything we know about the orbits of the Earth and Mars, and based on the limitations of our propulsion technology, plot a trajectory that can get our spacecraft to the other planet. Pictures are just data, and the cameras on the new rover are from the past decade so it makes sense that they have top-notch quality as our camera technology has been getting pretty good. And since the rover is so far and the images are so high definition, it takes a long amount of time to send the signal back to Earth with all of the data. Hence why this happened in February and we have really only started seeing images and whatnot in the past couple of weeks or so.

    • @doc-nobody-glider
      @doc-nobody-glider 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CMONCMON007 I suppose it was caused by wind erosion. Although the density of Martian atmosphere ammounts only to about 1% of earth´s atmosphere density, the wind patterns are quite stable over aeons in time and strong with high velocities.Another hint in this direction might be the orientation of erosive forms. A lot of them are orientated in the same direction.
