  • Okay... I think this should be it for a while... I took some collections that I wasn't inspired to keep as such and made some page kits from them instead. I've got a little bit of many manufacturers... Simple Stories, Stampin' Up, Illustrated Faith, Kaisercraft, Bella Blvd, My Mind's Eye just to name a few.

This is exactly how I like to kit papers together! Enjoy your crafting.

Thanks so much Sharon! This style of combining cardstock into small page kits was a game changer for me. ~Melanie

These are gorgeous. I want to get better at mixing companies when I put my kits together so more of that would be great :)
I admit I rarely use Stampin' Up paper on scrapbook pages. I won't say I've never done it, but I find it really hard to do. It's not even always just the patterns; it's the weight of the paper. I've gotten spoiled by other companies like Carta Bella, Pink Fresh, and Simple Stories.

Yes paper weight does okay a role for me too but I’d I really love a pattern I can make a lower weight work. Mostly I just tell myself that once it’s adhered to a sturdier base I won’t even know the difference but it definitely isn’t as “nice” to work with. I’ve been focusing on breaking up my paper pads and collections and so it’s easier to just make kits with what is there but I’m sure I will try do more assorted kits once those are dealt with. ~Melanie

The reason I enjoy this type of video is that I’m learning color/pattern/scale of patterns combinations as you go through your stash. So it’s informative to me and am slowly building my confidence to start making page kits. It has got to be a start in knowing how to use them with journaling and photos. Thanks for sharing

LOVE LOVE LOVE watching you make page kits! Thank you! I still have a lot of SEI paper in my stash. I also would try and visit Scrapbook stores when I took business trips. Unfortunately over the years many brick and mortar scrapbook stores have closed. Could you remind me (us) how you store your page kits (maybe a video)? Thanks again!

It’s so sad isn’t it Kathleen? It made work travel so much more tolerable... something to look forward too. I’m needing to make a few tweaks to my system for storing the page kits. So once I have those sorted out I will do a video. Hang in there... it’s coming. ~Melanie

They changed the way I scrapbook. I love having them all ready to go. It’s so easy to pick paper for a layout. ~Melanie

I really liked how you did this video right to the point and explained why you picked that sheet. Love it please make more videos like this. Question do you pull papers from paper pads as well to add to your stash?

Thank you so much! While I love paper pads, I’ve actually discovered that I rarely pull out a pad...and so they often get forgotten in a shelf. So I’ve pretty much broken all the pads down... some into page kits like these and some end up in my stash of loose papers that I sort by color. Eventually they may be combined with other papers and make their way into a page kits. Hope that answers your question? ~Melanie

I will be at some point...either a layout or cards or sometimes both. No definite plan for them per se. I like to have these “premade” and when I go to say make a layout I search through these oremade kits and basically I have all the paper I’ll need. ~Melanie
