How an employee can be treated not just a money printing machine but also human. Everybody has ups and downs and Bob’s first reaction to down was ‘are you ok? How can I help?’ This is fantastic!
Underrated comment. Huge companies need to learn from this, and how to treat an employee so that he's comfortable enough to come back without any ill will or resentment. GSW did a great job with this situation.
I work in Human Resouces and have so for large companies. It is in fact a standard practice to not divulge the reasons for a Leave of Absence to anyone. In fact there are privacy laws on the books that prohibit you from sharing information with others.

I think because most employees reach out to their direct supervisor, as is protocol, instead of reaching out to HR. Personally, I've always felt the need to share what's going on just so my supervisor knows when I need a leave of absence, it's for a legit reason. I think it's common courtesy, but I've never had a job that I was supposed to skip notifying anyone and just let HR know and that's it. That's like leaving your supervisor in a bad situation. I think the best way is to just let your boss know what's going on, and if they have a problem with you missing work.... then you bring it up to HR.
He has no choice. That's how the NBA is structured these days. A player can politically destroy a franchise on social media and demand whatever they want because crybabies run the world, as they spiral us into economic catastrophe.

But normal people don't get that fantasy. Only the ones with millions in the bank and/or priviledge cards through the roof get to live a life where the world around them has to hit the pause button, while they deal with "emotionally traumatic problems" that every one else calls "day-to-day life".

I would also love to work for an organization like the Warriors. To be able to recognize the sacrifices an employee makes and then reciprocate says a lot about the organization and management.
One thing I always admired about the warriors and the organization is the support they show for each other. Andrew has been thru some stuff he was able to take the time and he’s welcomed back with open arms.
