Hello everyone, I hope that you have had a great week so far! As the weekend is approaching, I have just published a video that speaks a little bit more about Vietnamese history in the Imperial City of Hue. I found that this is an important aspect to understand a certain country, and I hope you will think the same way too.
Let me know what you think and which one is your favorite part of the video?

There is a part that I found inaccurate on your video. That is where you mentioned about the Nguyen Dynasty was at the period of the Ming Dynasty. That’s not true... The Nguyen Dynasty was from the period of the Qing Dynasty. However, they kept some customs related more to the Ming Dynasty, as well as incorporating the Qing Dynasty patterns on their clothing. By the time of the French colonization, most of their imperial court dresses were shorten possibly mimicking the West.

@Maika : The fact could be fake. Me as a vietnamese i don't take this fact whole heartly either. But let me tell you a story, the viet might be backward and poor but dont underestimate a whole population like that. Back in the day When the vietnamese fought the french in Dien Bien Phu in 1954, they (the french) used to mock and underestimate us because our generals were only famers and teachers with no certificate of military tactics knowledge or training what so ever while their generals all graduated from elite military school saint cyr in metropolitan France. The french generals are undoubtedly talented and well trained and the french have the right to be proud of their generals and their dominating weapons at that time (plus american support) but you know the rest is history hahaha

Lol dude... Everyone on earth know how bad chinese tactics is. They lost against the japanese and later 1 million chinese soldiers died in korea war against the usa. They dont want us to reunite, they want vietnam to be divided like the two koreas. As a nation in war, lacking almost everything, we had no choice but to pretend to listen to them(chinese) because they supplied us weapons but in the battle front we have to fight with our own tatics because again deep down inside we dont trust them and we knew that they are not that bright either.

Looks like the Walmart version of the real Forbidden City in China.
The Clothes That You Saw Online (Forbidden City)
    VS
The Clothes When It Actually Arrives At Your Doorstep (Forbidden Purple City)
And before anyone gets all up in my face about how there was ONE Vietnamese architect (Nguyen An), the Forbidden City in China was still designed by mainly Chinese architects (because there were multiple architects) in the traditional architectural style of the Ming Dynasty. ONE Vietnamese architect (out of many Chinese architects) that contributed to the construction of the Forbidden City does not make it “Vietnamese.”

Not just the architect but a large number of laborers were also Vietnamese, captured by the Ming during their invasions. So, basically the Vietnamese built China’s Forbidden City.

If you compare the "traditional" architecture in Hue to the traditional architecture in the Red River Delta (such as those in Hanoi), you'll realize that Hue architecture is very Frenchy. However, if you compare it to the very few Vietnamese style architecture in the Mekong Delta (most buildings in the Mekong Delta is plain French style and I am not talking about that) you'll find the Hue one is not Frenchy enough.

    GREAT VIDEO.
Syifa Adriana is the best. Syifa Adriana, you know that a Vietnamese (Nguyễn An) build the Forbidden City, China. ==========>Nguyễn An (Sino-Vietnamese 阮安; died 1453), known in Chinese as Ruan An (pinyin) or Juan An (Wade-Giles), was a Ming dynasty eunuch, architect, and hydraulics specialist between the first and fifth decades of the 15th century.
Born in Vietnam, he was taken as tribute from Vietnam to China and later became a eunuch and architect in service to the Chinese emperors. He, along with numerous architects, such as master designers and planners Cai Xin (蔡信), Chen Gui (陳珪), and Wu Zhong (吳中), master carpenter Kuai Xiang (蒯祥), and master mason Lu Xiang (陸祥), was an important builder of the Forbidden City in Beijing.
Under the reign of the Zhengtong Emperor, Nguyen An had a role in the reconstruction of the wall of Beijing. He was also a hydraulics specialist, and was involved in at least three hydraulic projects and had a flawless record.

Syifa one of Vietnam engineer was famous in firearms in ancient time too and he was also capture and send back to china to work for the Ming like Nguyen an , the diffirent is he built firearms and weapon , tks to his design the gun was much better and help the Ming defeat the mongol in the north , help them putting down rebellion in the south ( zhuang/hmong vv ) firearms is what made Vietnam so strong in 1400s and creat the way for Vietnam to shape like it to day ( defeat the cham , Khmer , tai ethnic and other mountain minority in northern Vietnam , lao ) heck we even reach to Myanmar border ( and there is evident of Vietnam gun /canon from that period found I northern Thailand near Myanmar that belong to one of the army that send west ) firearms also one of the reason for the Ho dynasty fall and Vietnam fall to Ming rule ( they collect all coin to made firearms , collect all bronze to made gun ) and issue money which made people angry ( people don't like changing in they life aka human nature ) didn't help that they overthrew the Tran to take over the throne , some westerner think that Vietnam was so strong in 1400 is dual to Ming firearms that we capture not really , Vietnam have been buying Ming firearms ( illegal way :) ) befor the Ming invade us and have been copy and then improve the firearms ( that why the Ho engineering was send to china and made head of the firearms development department and record in history book )
