Hello from Germany - Have you both thought about using a wind generator? In times of storms it can provide you with the electricity that you lack due to the lack of sun.
When ya'll finally go for the final install I would suggest raising them up to 7 or 8 feet thus allowing for a dual purpose use as a covered/shaded area for outside activities and/or carport. Yes, it would require more structural support and engineering but the pay off due to the dual use would offset that. An additional benefit would be less mess from mowing on the panels or issues with damage from errant cows or other clumsy critters (feel free to include yourselves and the pups in that ). Great video as always.
I agree, cement you in two 5" or 6" pieces of steel well casing so they protrude about 4' or 5' out of ground about 12' apart with line running to house in center. Build your uni brace grid off top of well casing able to hold 6 panels (2×3) each, giving you two arrays and install combiner box in center where battery feed line located. Panels up off ground in safer position yet still accessible for maintenance or cleaning
Spencer, I've been watching these videos for awhile now and I can safely say you guys aren't stupid. You're doing something that 99% of the world popular doesn't do building a home yourselves from shipping containers. That takes brain, initiative, and hard work. You're doing a great job keep it up.

James Dindino that’s so crazy because they are doing so many things that can easily wait. They painted the outside of the house twice already. We lived in our house for two years before we painted it at all. They just like to work outside. They have no clue what they are doing. They spend so much time doing everything twice. I get so frustrated that they don’t speak to professionals and learn the right way to do things.
Spencer don't call yourself stupid you've inspired alot of people including me brother, you all have came a long way since you first started. One thing you might check on, i don't know about Texas but in NC. Where we live if you make more power that you are using the power Co. Will buy your excess power back. Check with your local power Co. And see. Give Beau a hug for me and tell Io and Bear i said Hi. Love you all and look forward to the next video.

Also if thosehogs or the bull get inside your fence they will not be able to mess with the panels. You are doing a great job. Keep upthe good work and enjoy life.

This is a God thing and thanks you both for having this show. Thank you oh so much, CHRIS
You guys are doing things right. We are also off grid in north central Texas. We were using window units and now have installed a couple of Minni split heat pumps. They very efficient and work great with solar. They soft start units and we can one off if we are low on solar. We plane on installing one more in the near future.
Been watching your channel for a year now. Looking forward to watch every weeks episode. so inspired by your journey. watching from the Philippines 12:46am .
Hey Kenz! Play pens are great for babies when they fall asleep outdoors so they can stretch out with a mosquito net thrown over the top. I love your family!!!💗😎🌴
That's ok for those initial plan for the solar panel..it was a learning process for you the entire build.. And you've actually done well..i've been following you since day one.
Suggestion: Make a pavilion between the house and pond, right where the solar currently is, and put the panels on its roof. Include a staircase for maintenance. Run 2" conduits for the cabling and pull a rope with the cables so that future upgrades are a breeze. You'll have a nice shady place for the little one(s) to play and whatnot.
Congrats on the upgrade to your solar power system, totally agree it needed to get done now. One less thing to worry about when you're trying to focus on other things and needing energy! I don't think your first version was a mistake in any way - it was a great learning experience, gave you the power you needed at the time to get done what you had to get done, and now gives you excess capacity to build on as desired later. Win - win in my world!
You know, I live in Oregon and we used to have a Mimosa Tree in our old yard. It was the most beautiful tree ever. The Hummingbirds and Bees just LOVED it. However I never once noticed the leaves opening and closing. I may have to plant one in my new yard now. That's like the evening tree version of Morning Glory flowers.
NOT Stupid! You are doing, trying, experimenting and reworking. Most humans will never even try some of the projects you have taken on. No need to be tough on yourself. It can be frustrating, but take pride in your perseverance . . . it is inspiring and admirable. You folks are remarkable. Stay Strong! Keep Rockin!
Hello, it is so impressive what you have achieved and I look forward to seeing the way you both relate to each other. It's really inspiring. Best wishes from germany.
I am glad your off grid projects are moving you closer to move in to your new home. Your banter with each other is so entertaining. Keep up the good work!
Learning a lot from you guys just since the beginning. Please keep doing what you are doing according to what you want because after all, it's your LIFE BEING UNCONTAINED.

I watched one of your videos several weeks ago and it was so interesting that I went back to your beginning and watched ALL of your videos. You two are amazing and you have done a fantastic job!! You will love yourselves in years to come for building your house.
I Hello, I’m your friend from Ponce, Puerto Rico, I don’t miss any of your programs. Maybe you remember me when you started with the Conext SW, I ask you were to get the batteries. I’m updating my system too, with more 380 watts mono. God bless you and your baby 👶. Good luck. Please be careful. Take care.
I just found your channel today and I can’t stop watching your videos. I was researching my own house build with containers and I’ve learned a lot just from watching you guys
Best thing to ever learn is how to improvise. My late father was a cabinet maker/carpenter, and he drilled that into me over the years and it has served me time and time again to get me out of tight spots and to use what I have on hand.
👍👌🇨🇦❤, lived off grid since 2000, solar panels on roofs or anywhwere too high make it difficult to clean them, dirt klings like road dirt on your vehicle,
Pocket Change I don’t mean 20’ in the air, just high enough for animals and themselves to sit under or store stuff, 8-10’ is easily washed down and accessed. Also the higher they are the less dust gets on them. Install solar 👍
@@jamest5149 yes possibly, put most installs will have them low enough not to use a step ladder, as for the dust, dust is everywhere, the worse is the film left by rain, as rain contains all kinds of contaminants, and as for the roof installs, they are a pain to work on or replace, if one has the space, best to keep them low and protected from animals using the support posts for rubbing on, big panels are a pain to work on if there is much wind and and my 430 watt panels weigh more than I want on a step or extention ladder
With the cost of solar panels being quite a bit still, don’t forget to add them on to your homeowners insurance because although it’s not often, but when a really good storm goes through Texas it also believes in the saying that “everything is bigger in Texas” and that includes destruction such as bad hail or tornadoes. Always better to be safe than sorry! I love all the things y’all have done so far and am always amazed how much y’all have accomplished! ❤️❤️❤️
I have seen on 2 offgrid living and they used solar power one was on a tower that had a GPS tracker on it that turned with the sun that would be on the high end of the money scale. The second one that toke giant wire reel that that would roll it so that it would get the sun from sun up to sun down . So you will charge your batteries all day basically you get more power for less money. Just something that you guys might look into doing to save you money by not having to buy more panels. You guys are doing a great job with what you have
Thanks for sharing your amazing journey. Being off the grid really looking forward to seeing your “Eatable Garden”. growing your own Fruit and Vegetables is so rewarding - having seen the pigs running through the bush on this video, guessing raised beds, vertical gardens inside a mesh walk-in Green House will be your best option. Just a thought.
MORE POWER! 😁 Congrats on the new solar panels! Have you thought of putting a wood stove for heat in your place as a backup? They have really good ones that are efficient and safe for children. Also a backup power source could be from the water flow near by if it has a good current.
Taking issue here with calling yourselves stupid, for the earlier design. If you’d know then what you know now, you’d have done it different. But you did the best you could with what you knew and what skills you had at the time. So, what I’m saying is, you’re not really any s,after, but you ARE more experienced. You got here by going through all that stuff in between. Wonderful progress and personal growth! Best to celebrate the growth when you can stop a moment and look back, rather than defame yourselves for what you didn’t know and didn’t have back when. This is life at its best! Learning and growing as we move though time to our eventual end. I say make the best of each day you can and live each like it was your last. Then stop once in awhile and celebrate the fruits of your pursuits. I so admire what you two have accomplished and have enjoyed this journey you’ve been sharing with me. Oh, and the baby in the sun was golden!
Ok, here is what I would do! I would eventually install the rest of the new panels as you probably will do! The 12 old panels I would actually safe for another project... if Spence ever decides on a break first! Gee man, take a breath! So I think knowing Spence by now, maybe you all could use them for a shop for Spence down the line! Seems like he is having a lot of fun building things. I can truly see him building a beautiful playhouse for your little love bug! Also a nice gazebo in front with lights... So many things! Or if you ever decide to build a small maids quarter or something. Whatever you guys decide to do, I am positive it will be awesome! Love you guys! ;D

When ya'll finally go for the final install I would suggest raising them up to 7 or 8 feet thus allowing for a dual purpose use as a covered/shaded area for outside activities and/or carport. An additional benefit would be less mess from mowing on the panels or issues with damage from errant cows or other clumsy critters (feel free to include yourselves and the pups in that ). Hello, it is so impressive what you have achieved and I look forward to seeing the way you both relate to each other. It's really inspiring. Best wishes from germany.
I am glad your off grid projects are moving you closer to move in to your new home. Your banter with each other is so entertaining. Keep up the good work!
It is so much fun watching you guys grow in knowledge and capabilities, as well as seeing your dreams come to fruition through all your work!
Keep living the dream you three and let no one take it away from you.
Im an old geezer and I love watching you two "youngins" learning and loving. 🧡
I’m so excited!!! I’ve been waiting for this all morning
Learning a lot from you guys just since the beginning. Please keep doing what you are doing according to what you want because after all, it's your LIFE BEING UNCONTAINED.
I am so impressed with everything you both are doing. Its amazing to watch the transformation. And also seeing your adorable daughter grow!! Can't wait to see the finished product! 👍
Super positive couples ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I don't know why I feel satisfied and stressed relief while watching your video 😘😍
The hat reminds me of Dudley Do Right, the Canadian mounty cartoon!!!
Rick Harper 😁 can’t believe they don’t even have a cowboy or cowboy hat pic.❣️
Pp00ppp
@@susanlee9532 I agree. I'd love to see Spencer in a good Stetson with the mustache! Kenzie would look great, too, with her hair all the way down and some boots. Stay safe and healthy. :o) Donna Blackman, Missouri, USA
@@donnablackman9167 😁👍
Nevermind the project... right here these 2 are couple goals for everyone... love the chemistry... i'm always left smiling after watching your videos...
I watched one of your videos several weeks ago and it was so interesting that I went back to your beginning and watched ALL of your videos.

Hello, I’m your friend from Ponce, Puerto Rico, I don’t miss any of your programs. Maybe you remember me when you started with the Conext SW, I ask you were to get the batteries. I’m updating my system too, with more 380 watts mono. God bless you and your baby 👶. Good luck. Please be careful. Take care.
Its all about Power!! and Congrats on the upcoming Air system step by step you are building a home that will not only last but looks amazing !
I just found your channel today and I can’t stop watching your videos. I was researching my own house build with containers and I’ve learned a lot just from watching you guys

He puts on the cap over the wig and I say “Party on Garth” and he says “Excellent”, cracked me up!!!
lol
I did too! I was waiting for a "schwing!" Too lol
THAT's who I couldn't recall.TY.
15:02 Spencer holding back his excitement is hilarious 😆
Best thing to ever learn is how to improvise. My late father was a cabinet maker/carpenter, and he drilled that into me over the years and it has served me time and time again to get me out of tight spots and to use what I have on hand.
Amazing what the power of TH-cam can allow you to do in all the upgrades and redo’s. Congratulations on making dreams come true.
Love the bloopers at the end. You guys are awesome!
I just love watching You two❤️
When you re do your solar array mount them higher, you can use them as a roof and shade 👍
@@pocketchange1951 a squeegee on a pole absolves all of those issues. And putting them higher will allow them to be adjusted to get more sunlight
My brain vacation 💖 thank you as always💜 the house looks incredible. Kenz!!! Your such a light, your a beautiful person inside and out my dear💖
You guys are doing great zip always love the pictures of sceneries
I started watching these videos yesterday and I am addicted. Can't wait to see more.
Excited to watch another program!
You guys work Really Really hard and you're so dedicated and consistent. Consistency is what brings success👌👌👌🏆
God Bless🙏
Love you guys! ;D
Sorry you just answered my question...btw you're not stupid. I and many others are in awe of what you guys are achieving...live and learn.🥰
Great watch, thanks. I am glad you showed the animals at nite again. Do you see the donkey anymore? Love you decorating ir looked nice. Baby is so cute sleeping in the stroller, what a good girl.

I did also but I live in Milwaukee so I had too! 🧀🍻
I did but in my 40's
Definitely did, but I'm getting old, so.
As an old fart I laughed
I go back and look at your home from the different angles and it amazes me how far you two have come from bare land to what you have now. Your home is beautiful, unique and amazing!!! I still can't believe you both didn't have any education or experience before starting this epic journey. You are such an inspiration to those who follow you.
Watching you learn lessons is part of the appeal. You are both amazing.....don’t forget that.
