    Your videos are so informative. As a chameleon owner I have been given so much misinformation but since finding your channel, I don't worry anymore about the information I received and so far, from going off your info, I have had an amazing experience with my chams.

    Thank you so much for posting this video. I've wanted a chameleon for yrs. I finally got one but I didn't do enough research to know that it was already dying. I was confused about why my new pet died and now I know why.

    • @ChameleonAcademy
      @ChameleonAcademy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stevenschultz9966 i have not purchased a chameleon from Petco. I have seen some very healthy ones there and some on death’s door. So, as long as you know the signs of a healthy chameleon, you can find a good one there. But the care the chameleons get are very much dependent on the competence of the reptile department manager. So just go in knowing what to look for!

      The females are a little smaller than the males in the Machakos Hills Jackson’s Chameleon.

    Hi, I'm from Indonesia, can you explain the gender difference of baby jacksoni chameleon

  • @tattd_snw_wht
    @tattd_snw_wht 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    My first chameleon was a Jackson’s. I got a panther chameleon afterwards and realized Jackson’s are a bit more tricky to care for at least with my experience. My Igor is showing signs of illness even though I have brought him to the vet a few times. When one issue resolved, another pops up. I need to reevaluate my husbandry. ☹️ I have followed the husbandry guide from the facebook group. Idk what I’m doing wrong. 🥺

    So I’m getting a wild caught chameleon pair should I have them separate and what should I look out for

    • @ChameleonAcademy
      @ChameleonAcademy  ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, keep them separate. Chameleons should not. be housed together. Here s a link to a more comprehensive care video that may help. th-cam.com/video/9d9WPvR7Y_E/w-d-xo.html

    Can't adult pair live together in properly made enclosure though?

    • @ChameleonAcademy
      @ChameleonAcademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There will be a point where the enclosure will be big enough and set up well enough to allow cohabitation to be stress free. But that point is way beyond the size of standard commercially available enclosures or even hand built cages.

    Can u mate a boy rainbow boy with a regular Jackson female?

    • @ChameleonAcademy
      @ChameleonAcademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not know how closely related they are. It is possible it could work though. That said this is not something we should do. While imports are available we should keep them separate and leave hybridization only for the day in the future when we have no choice. It will happen soon enough. If we hybridize now then we reduce the amount of time we have with them after imports stop.

    Hello. Let me introduce myself. Im Daniel, from Serbia. I currently have a tarantula collection with 48 spiders from 38 different species and i want to keep a few reptiles. I can not find a Jacksons chameleon in my country. If you know a breeder in europe, i politely ask for theyre email or some sort of contact. Thank you.
