I rented the Toyota 86 and stayed at the Apex hotel a few years ago! I’m from Colorado and play in a heavy metal band and our tour ended in Frankfurt. It was one of the best experiences of my life as I grew up playing the Nurburgring on video games. Misha was my co driver and did an excellent job helping me around the track! Can’t wait to do it again someday! 🎉
Tip 1: Just a few kilometers more distance from the Nord u will find very nice hotels at a way lesser price. Ur wallet says thank u, but also ur car, as u warm it up propper on ur way to the track, n cool it down propper when leaving the track. Tip 2: Take some time for a cruise in the Eifel. There are nice roads around the Nord: U can drive a day without driving a road twice in a radius of maybe 50km around Nord. Tip 3: Plan ur trip so u don´t have to refill on the Autobahn. Prices are 60 to 70 cent higher per liter.
I came a few days last summer. I was with a friend, at 1200km of the Ring, we were drinking a beer. It was a Friday evening, and I said to my friend "ok, now, go to Germany!". I drived all the night, we were in Luxembourg at 5am and we arrived at the Nurb at 7am, with the firsts cars. Absolutely no preparation, and with a low budget we bought our food at Lidl and camp at Brunnchen parking. One of my favorite memory. I'll come again this summer.
As i went in nurburg 4 times, maybe my own experience will help, and add interesting things more than this very complete video. I would suggest people to avoid summer time. First, as it is holiday time, lot of people come there and track is very busy. Second, there might be very hot temperatures which isn't good for engines and tyres (lot of misha's summer laps ended with "cooling breaks" because of way too high engine temp) or storms. Third, hotels and restaurants prices are higher. I suggest like may or september/october to come to get optimal weather conditions (not guaranted tho), better prices and less traffic on the track. I went both on week end and during week, i had the luck to get good weather and no too long track closure each time i came. So, maybe if you come from very far, it should be advised to stay there for a week or at least 3/4 days to have the chance to have good weather and some clear laps without trouble. Made my laps with my own car, a Fiesta ST which is a very fun and easy-to-drive sport car, i'd say almost perfect to learn the track and have good sensations. My advice is to know the track before driving it for real, racing sims are very helpful for this, like Assetto Corsa or GT7 who have a very accurate version of the track. Make a lot of laps with a car who has nearly the same specs than your own car, so that you will know every corners, every braking points, and where to be careful (i've had many crashes on schwedenkreuz on sim :) ). When on track, be very focused, check on mirrors very often as there are very fast cars and experienced drivers, be respectful with others, never over estimate your skills, this track is long, narrow, hard to learn, and have lot of very sketchy corners, lot of elevation changes... so be humble, and everything will go well! To be honest, if you're a car/racing lover, there's no equal to riding the nurburgring. An unforgettable experience.
brings back good memories..i sneaked to nurburgring during a business trip ~8 years ago... left munich in a rental after work on friday, drove to stuttgart and slept friday night there, wake up and went to porsche and mercedes benz meseum, drove to nurburgring (8ish hours), slept saturday night, woke up a 7ish, picked up my track rental, drove 6 laps, at lunch and drove back to munich...arrived at 9pm and returned my rental...
As someone who turned up at the ring and found it was very wet, then closed the next day for private use until the evening TF session and the weather showed no sign of improvement for the 3rd day of my visit, get in your car or on your bike & go drive/ ride the local roads, they are gorgeous and you can have several hours of fun while staying in the close vicinity of the track and return there later. It may not be the ring but it is a close 2nd best and still makes excellent use of your time there
Having rode the whole west side of Germany north to south, travelling from Assen to Zurich, 90% of this time sticking to minor roads, the whole experience was beautiful. Every mile travelled on every road I found to be super enjoyable, the roads & their condition, the pre corner signage working like rally pace notes, German drivers standards, the views (especially the Rhine valley), even the people I meet made the experience a lifetime memory, 1 I tell every biker to try 1 day. I only left the Ring to find the sunshine which I knew was to be found further south in Switzerland, so I went to play in the Alps for 4 days before hitting Italy
@@garymcbrearty5845 Parts of the public roads (south of the ring) used to be the Südschleife (can search it on youtube or google), they closed it 1974 and some parts are now public roads.
I did 10 laps in late september the weekend after a VLN/SLN. Be aware that in the mornings when the track is not yet fully dry, it is like driving on ice because of the rubber from the slick tires. So for any new drivers, please be very very carefull when the track is damp and its after a race. Also as someone else mentioned, get a cheap wheel and play assetto corsa, with a car similar to what you rent or drive, knowing the track is a must. Going 60 KM/h and sliding sideways in corners that you should be able to take at double the speed is very very sketchy.
Making my first trip to the 'ring this April. It's been a lifetime of planning. Hopefully not a once in a lifetime experience but rather the first of many. Long LONG time subscriber. I did know a bit of this already but still good to go over the details again.
Girl who likes cars chiming in: There's so much cool stuff around the Nürburgring that isn't car-related, too. I keep wanting to do a wine tour given that the Ahr is one of the best pinot noir regions in the world, but that doesn't play too well with wanting to do car stuff more, haha. Castles, hiking/biking trails, all kinds of rad stuff. Take a day and go explore, even if you're there for the track yourself. (Same advice applies to other tracks, too. Holy crap, there are some cool parks next to Watkins Glen, for example.)
Last year I was lucky enough to finally get to Nurburging. We went in May and the weather was perfect (we were really lucky that the whole weekend was sunny). We rented from Apex and the experience was really nice. The instruction lap was really useful and I highly recommended it. In terms of accommodation, we stayed at a guest house that was around 20km away from the track. Even though I didn't plan on taking the Apex Taxi, they found an empty slot, and damn it was a really nice experience. I would 100% recommend going for a Taxi lap. It was amazing. The atmosphere around Nurburg is awesome. People are just happy to share their passion with you. Can't wait to come back to Nurburgring 😃
@@Dathumm It was a bit crowded but I didn't stay in line at the exit for more than 10 minutes. I remember that 1 week before, there was some kind of event and I saw some pictures running around in social media with the huge queues. So, as Misha said, try to avoid going when there are big events planned for that weekend.
Appreciate this video for own planning. Planning my first trip out of the states to visit Europe and were planning everything around visiting the Nurburging in September or so. Super excited!!
One important advice I think you missed. Take the opportunity to learn the track before you go! Games, track guides, videos, whatever. A lot of corners are blind, and it sucks braking way to early or late just because you don't know what comes next. If you are unable to do it before hand, there is a simulation zone by the GP track. It's not cheap, but cheaper than the track itself. Going there on the night of your arrival, after track closure is IMO good invested money if you don't already know the track.
Nice thumbnail and clip Misha, haha! Looking forward to visit the track again when it opens! Good all-in guide, also/especially for new people living far away!
Last summer (22) I was there on my motorbike, but was too scared to ride the ring(shame on me). Just watched fast cars riding, eat some meal and go for a walk a bit. Even without riding the ring it is nice place to visit!
I loved the sunday morning tf's.... leave home at 5, eat around 270kms on a near empty autobahn, blast the FastbackN straight to ED ,get nearly 1 full tank, be one of the 1st to get on track at opening with a warm engine and tires. Easy warmup lap, keep lapping until refuel /feel sick or get a code brown. refuel, chill at brunchen for a bit, drive the ''fun'' route back home to belgium . Used to do these daytrips at least once a month. Except July and August. Would also avoid the easter weekend "Terroristenfahrten" if you are taking your first steps, but its nice to spot cars then... If you are lucky u might actualy see one moving . I went the day before and in the 2 hours the track was open, I only got 2laps because of the traffic jams, without any track closure. I can still smell the rubbery brakes and clutches infused with the uncatalisted fumes when I think about the exit jam. Right after N24 was a very nice suprise with the the large lay out. Biggest bang for the buck ! Could not manage get there for 3years now 😥😥 Hoping to get back at it this year.
I think staying in Adenau is the best and possibly most affordable option for accommodation. It has a few bars and restaurants and a great viewing point (Breidscheid) walking distance from the village if u want to sit and watch with a few beers
The Eifel is one of my favourite parts of Germany. There is so much to do and to see in the area it’s a great place for a holiday. With my motorcycle crash hat on I would add that I would always prefer riding my motorcycle on the public roads in the area than on the track itself. The track is great fun in a car. For days out you can visit towns like Köln, Aachen, Cochem, Ahrweiler or Monschau and if you are really into race tracks Spa Francorchamps is a short drive away.
Container shipping is really not THAT bad. Depending on the side of US too of course. Back in 2021 I paid around 1200$ I believe one way from Baltimore.
Thanks misha for the advice. I love your on bord videos when you drive peoples cars. Lot of interesting people and interesting car builds. You videos contradicts with the regulations stated on Nürburgring homepage. In last video you mentioned that 4/5 point harnesses are not allowed on TF. I couldn't find that in the Driving Regulations. In this video about filming - 3:57, but: § 7 - MISCELLANEOUS 3. Photographs, filming and video recordings are banned during ongoing tourist rides as a matter of principle. Exceptions from this rule shall require the explicit approval of NG.
It's not about being allowed in TF, but by TÜV in general most of the tines depending on your side/feet airbag configuration. 4 point has ABE, 5 point needs extra inspection and depending on your TÜV guy it may or may not get in the papers. As for the media, what I said is what the Nürburgring told me. But to avoid the discussions they have one general rule. Just like they would tell you that you have to drive 50 in Breidscheid.
@@mgcharoudin O.K., in the video it came across like 4/5 point harnesses were generally banned by the Nürburgring. And what I know there isn't a TÜV checkpoint at the gate of TF. Yet.
Probably an unusual question but may be important: best way to avoid hail (garages/tents around Nürburg) and which season is most risky in terms of hails in the Eifel.
I've booked a trip for July 2025, the official site doesn't tell me if its open or closed? Can you advise? Will it be open in the evenings between 17:00/19:30? Thanks
I am planning with a group of friends to visit the Nürburgring for a weekend early May. Unfortunately we can only do it at the weekend. What do you think, is it so overcrowded that there is no pleasure at all driving at the weekend? I am taking my 981 Spyder and since I am traveling a longer distance I would hope that it's still enjoyable.
Hey, just a question. I'm 17 and I'm planning to come this year for a couple of laps, will any hire car companies allow me to drive, I have a full UK license bit not sure if I'm alowed to drive on the track. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You forgot the MOST IMPORTANT THING! The Nürburgring is NOT located in or at Nürnberg! Don't go there if you are looking for the Nordschleife. Some people realy made that mistake. In Nürnberg there is the "Norsiring" though. The Area around the Norisring is also "nice" to watch, but for more historic (WW2) reasons. 🙂
Great videos, recently they have convinced me to rent a car when I come over. Is there still a bar and night club at the ring? It’s 13 years since my last trip, I used to go a lot and am hoping to come again this year.
@@mgcharoudin thanks for getting back to be. I think it was called Eifel Stadl its a shame it’s gone it was fun on the night. Can’t wait to get back to the ring either way 👍
Do you recommend a dkg or manual transmission for the E92 M3, which one is more enjoyable, which one would you choose, you will use it for a long time?
2 years ago, I visited the Ring in the Weekend in summer. It was almost 6 PM when I started my lap, still quite busy in my opinion, might had to do with my choice of car. But still very enjoyable, I also managed to view the track from one of many visiting points. I think what I would recommend doing is handling your entry ticket before you drive all the way to the ring, that way you won't have to handle it just before you enter the track.
Dumb question edition 5 billionth - How high is the chance for someone to take a stranger for a lap in their car? Sure, Misha goes on plenty of fun laps in fun cars, but if I asked online beforehand and/or turned up to the tracked and asked around, how high is the chance that I could get a ride in someone's car? What's the culture around this?
Been going for 3 years now and would say the chance is quite high. I have never asked but have been offered a passenger lap twice just by talking to people about their cars and asking them questions. I have never excepted though as I am a nervous passenger. Even got offered a lap in a fast M2 which is my favourite car by an English lad but just couldn't do it. Good luck. Actually go on the 26th and 27th of August and I'll take u a lap in my rental car
@@neilturner4346 Hey, thanks for the answer! Unfortunately, by the time August comes I will likely be back in Latvia. but hey - never know what life is going to bring and maybe I will be able to accept this generous offer. ;)
Not sure about the culture of it, but if someone asks me nicely I'd usually gladly take them for a lap or two. So if you see a grey widebody M140i from Stuttgart at the Ring, feel free to chat me up ;) I'll be there for season opening and last weekend of april.

About staff to do with girlfriend: Mosel is one of the top 5 wine regions in the world. Mosel riesling is probably the most famous white wine in the world. Plenty of old villages, river nad hills views, wineries with tours and tastings around the region. ;) Also nice hotel in old castle: Schloss Lieser.
Good one!
Calmest day in the year is usually the Friday before Easter. It's a silent holiday in Germany and car enthusiasts are all at church 😂
I'm the madman at 12:48. Unfortunately this track day was one of the "messed up" ones with the wheels in the air. If there's any more footage of this car going around, please let me know!
Thank you!!! I am planning to head over soon! If it all works out hopefully Ill get to say hi… to Pancake
I'm going to be making my way from the uk to the nurburgring for my birthday on june 1st. I can't wait going to bring my daily mondeo st tdci estate. If you fancy a drive in a standed st tdci estate, hit me up. I would love to see what it could do in your hands.. I also love the videos you do so helpful. Keep up the good work. Darren
You videos contradicts with the regulations stated on Nürburgring homepage. In last video you mentioned that 4/5 point harnesses are not allowed on TF. I couldn't find that in the Driving Regulations.
In this video about filming - 3:57, but:
§ 7 - MISCELLANEOUS
Yet.
Class. Very nice. Excellent video. Take care. ✌
misha is a really good guy
Probably an unusual question but may be important: best way to avoid hail (garages/tents around Nürburg) and which season is most risky in terms of hails in the Eifel.
Impossible to predict, luckily doesn't happen too often
I am about to go there today 🤟🔥
Holly shit, already at 450k subs.. I’ve been here since like 100k 😅 It went fast
I've booked a trip for July 2025, the official site doesn't tell me if its open or closed? Can you advise? Will it be open in the evenings between 17:00/19:30? Thanks
So drones are acceptable around the ring as long as they do not go over the track or public obviously??
I am planning with a group of friends to visit the Nürburgring for a weekend early May. Unfortunately we can only do it at the weekend. What do you think, is it so overcrowded that there is no pleasure at all driving at the weekend? I am taking my 981 Spyder and since I am traveling a longer distance I would hope that it's still enjoyable.
Hey, just a question. I'm 17 and I'm planning to come this year for a couple of laps, will any hire car companies allow me to drive, I have a full UK license bit not sure if I'm alowed to drive on the track. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Want to visit Florida?
Don't go on the summer, there's a lot of rain compared to other seasons, there are more when and dryer seasons... Thanks
An idea to put on next times car... Alfa Romeo, Abarth or Alpine 🙂
There is plenty of things you can do with your girlfriend, visit the Eifel région, all the castle around, like Cochem or Burg Eltz for exemple ! 😁
Good video
i'll be over from 7th till 10th of april!
Cu!
Some people just stay awake... Hahaha
👋 oh wait that would be me
Great videos, recently they have convinced me to rent a car when I come over. Is there still a bar and night club at the ring? It’s 13 years since my last trip, I used to go a lot and am hoping to come again this year.
No night clubs, the Lindner Bar is the closest you may get to nightlife experience
@@mgcharoudin thanks for getting back to be. I think it was called Eifel Stadl its a shame it’s gone it was fun on the night. Can’t wait to get back to the ring either way 👍
@@wexxexbest it is still there, but it's only open like 5-7 times/year🤦🏻♂️
@@mgcharoudin oh 😂
Is there any regulations about how loud can the car be
Yes but higher than most tracks and there are drive by checks, too loud and you will be banned but I've heard some very loud things be fine
@@Richard_Turner I am with fender exit header N/A ..
@@rulemakerR do you know what it's dB is?
Think it'd generally 130 which is more than usual tracks
95dB for tourists days (nordschleife is classified as a public toll road during these times so must comply with German road laws)
130dB for trackdays
Do you recommend a dkg or manual transmission for the E92 M3, which one is more enjoyable, which one would you choose, you will use it for a long time?
DCT for me, manual is super long
@@mgcharoudin thanks for dear comment
Most enjoyable
2 years ago, I visited the Ring in the Weekend in summer. It was almost 6 PM when I started my lap, still quite busy in my opinion, might had to do with my choice of car. But still very enjoyable, I also managed to view the track from one of many visiting points.
I think what I would recommend doing is handling your entry ticket before you drive all the way to the ring, that way you won't have to handle it just before you enter the track.
Unexpected dating advice by Misha Charoudin
Step 1: Get George to drive
Watching from Bumfuck. America. You're hands down the best Nürburgring channel.🤙Keep it up, comrade.
Dumb question edition 5 billionth -
How high is the chance for someone to take a stranger for a lap in their car?
So if you see a grey widebody M140i from Stuttgart at the Ring, feel free to chat me up ;)
I'll be there for season opening and last weekend of april.
@@Ultrabenbooyah I want a lap! 🤣 just don't kill us pls
But to answer the question: pretty much everyone (regular) is super chill about taking ppl with them

Voor de echte Nordschleife beleving: boek een ronde met de APEX TAXI, deze snelheid ga je zelf nooit halen met je eigen auto.
For the real Nordschleife experience: book a round with the APEX TAXI, you will never reach this speed with your own car.
