In today's industry where we have bespoke tools and require a heavy level of professional services to accompany those tools, Dan presents the ideas of what a SAE J3016 equivalent automation level for cybersecurity would look like.
This is a critical area as the ratio of most asset owner internal security teams to number of sites they are responsible for is a very skewed ratio. Even with outside professional services, a sizable catastrophic cyber event faces real "run on the bank" issues for incident response providers that a theoretical level 3-5 automation approach with less of a dependence on human led, professional services could help asset owners scale with.
