The BEST explanation of type Unite and type Nothing on the internet.
    Simple and crystal clear!

Great presentation even though she was little nervous. She was able to explain a lot of questions in my mind that I didn't find answers for prior to this video.

Question: Around 17:59 she explains that the fail() function will have the return type of Unit because one is not specified. Would/could not the compiler, in such a simple case where all paths throw an exception, infer the Nothing type?

I would be laughing at her jokes if I were in the audience.
She really makes the camera guy do some work!

She did great job. Is this stuff still relevant in 2021? Also unit over void ?? Why??

I can't concentrate because she sounds like a fat woman in Family Guy.

@@typingcat Yeah, came to this video to see if she was pretty (sue me) and found out she _definitely_ doesn't sound pretty 😂 (in english anyways).

more I am studying Kotlin, more I love Java + lombok. Kotlin is really ugly, 10 years ago I learned Scala and nowadays scala is almost dead. later I learned groovy - dead, ruby - dead. Now new project on Kotlin.... I don't know, but syntax is so ugly, who knows

Exactly! I started using Kotlin in android development because of features like null safety, extension methods, coroutines and the rest but it's syntax really started bugging me. I use java as much as I can because I'm way more comfortable with it.
Android team has just rolled out jetpack compose and it only supports kotlin. So bye bye java. I guess Imma have to make peace with this weird syntax.

Lol based on this you’re going to kill kotlin 😂
