I remember seeing this production when I was in elementary or middle school 🏫 and loved it! Did the movie justice. It was one of the most elaborate plays sunset 🌅 high school 🏫 has ever done. One of my favorites!

I have seen many productions of The Wizard of OZ, but this cast is the most well spoken, rehearsed (thus far the only production doing the Winkies correctly) and had the most adorably genuine, boundless enthusiasm.
@@wizardofoz93 Right, it was an attempt to make her look more like the literary Dorothy, and she really loved the wig and felt very glamorous in it. But after initial director Richard Thorpe was fired, George Cukor stepped in to keep things on track for the three days it took producer Mervyn LeRoy to secure Victor Fleming as director. Cukor objected not only to the wig, but the "baby doll" make-up job that had been done on Judy. His feeling was, and LeRoy agreed, that since this was to be Judy's breakout role, she ought to look like herself, so the blonde wig came off and more natural-looking make-up was used. Hmmm..I wonder if Tam's Witmark is aware of the song that the witch sings? It's not part of the RSC rental libretto or script and I know they frown on people adding things they don't endorse. further more, why is she purple?
Chocolatezeus I don't know exactly what year but at least older than 2012. I went to Sunset and was a part of the drama program. I think it's either 2009 or 2008. Before that I don't think Mr. Farmer taught at the school.

Most impressive for an amateur production. I appreciate the fact that the motion picture score was used for the overture.

I thought Dorothy's voice was good but she really should of stopped making somewhere over the rainbow, a riff song.
