  • A trip to the Bonneville dam fish hatchery in Northern Oregon on the banks of the great Columbia River. The dam hatches many rainbow trout, and houses many large north American white sturgeon, the largest freshwater fish in N America. The hatchery is so large it even has its own gift shop, water fountains, and lawn art (statues) If you ever are traveling on HW 84 in N Oregon, I recommend stopping here for a minute, it is a very nice place to stop. It is only a few miles to the east of Multnomah Falls.
Sturgeon have not changed much evolutionarily speaking for millions of years, so they are truly like dinosaur fish, that can reach up to 1000#!!!
