Big up Onlyroots for reissuing Augustus Pablo works! Always given the treatment it deserves. We appreciate it! Just received the Hugh Mundell 10" and it is off the hook!
apologies bro didn't mean to be so direct, didn't notice this is your label page. I bought it and the pressing felt lo-fi - it felt empty, lacking warmth and the higher frequencies felt fuzzy. It just does not seem likely that these were ripped from original tapes. I am just not a fan of poorly ripped reissues. maybe some don't notice but i care about the fidelity of a pressing, especially when it is a reissue/rip. it was a poor purchase on my behalf.
This is not a poorly ripped reissue as you say, and you are the only one from who I heard bad feedback. It's mastered in a professional studio with a lot of care as all of our works. You say you care about fidelity of pressing, does it mean you have the original one to compare ? I would be surprised as it was never release before... You should first check your system which is probably not good before to share wrong informations.
whether it was mastered at a studio tell's me little about the quality of the individual components of the track and nothing about where it was ripped/sourced from. I have only heard the releases on E Erim which have different components. But I do not doubt the vocals sound wider/fuller. As you know, music is partially subjective so please don't start telling me you think that pressing isn't good and yours is better. Going on to talk about whether my system is the problem is just silly talk, I've had this record since January. Anyhow, I do not wish to get in an endless discussion about this. I didn't enjoy the quality of this pressing, I've told you why and you have told why you think it isn't. conversation over. All the best
Best riddim ever❤

I just received 10 copies and they play fine, in fact the sound quality is excellent.
