You can tell that he knew that this was his last moments on twitch. He told his viewers to play with eachother if they get lonely and I feel as though he didn't want this to happen to anybody else. What a kind man. Rest in Peace Reckful.
As heartbreaking as this is, I dont think he knew in this moment. He suffered from Bipolar II which causes increased mania and depressive episodes. He may have been feeling down and lonely for the past weeks caused by depressive episodes. But i think it was the mania to act out that suicide, meaning it could have been totally spur of the moment. There was no "planning" like people who dont suffer mental illness. He jumped from the balcony in the back video, with his tweets from that day and how he was acting online leans me more towards a manic episode and acting on manic impulses, and that to me is even more heartbreaking and sad. In the end it doesnt matter RIP BYRON

They then deleted their comment as i see now. Those that care the most, usually are the ones that hurt the most. They know how it feels to feel hurt and they don't want anyone to feel the way they feel.
No he couldn't save himself. His fanabse was so grateful to have him and were supporting him to no end. But because he had some hardships in life he had to end his life and cause the sadness and heartbreak of millions of those who loved him

Watching this as someone who overcame suicidal thoughts hurts me so much, man, he sounds gone, like his soul has been completely lost in the horrid feeling of being alone, and that's sadly just how it works with this, not many pick up the signs until it's too late, I hope he finds peace wherever he is

I have never known if this man until now but I really can’t fathom how heartbreaking that was to watch. It’s sad that this man was trying to help others and telling them to look on the bright side, make friends with others in the chat, reach out to family and friends, all the while he couldn’t help himself with that same advice. A lot of times in life, we have a tendency to want to help others so much that we forget to help ourselves. He seemed like an amazing person. And it saddens me greatly to know of his death. If i had to guess he had a lot on his mind he wanted to vent about but didn't want to be direct about it so he projected. If i had to guess thats what that friend comment was about. I know he had it tough even though he had a decent group trying to help him.

When someone writes you something, telling you to "go commit" you have a very clear expectation of what the next word will be. The "unsad" turns that expectation on its head, because you're essentially saying "try to be happy" instead of... that first thing people would have expected. It's done that way to draw your gaze - you think this person wrote something rude or bad, but then you read the actual message and are comforted by it. That's the entire purpose of the "commit" in that sentence. It's specifically phrased as "unsad" because there's an unspoken understanding that "not being sad" and "being happy" aren't the same thing. Sometimes, to people, it might feel impossible to be happy. So when others wish them that or ask them to be happy, it feels more like a taunt or empty words than... anything useful or meaningful at all. So "unsad" became a thing, because then you are just saying "i hope you won't be sad for much longer" which feels more achievable and so it also feels more meaningful for people to hear oftentimes. In summary, this person actually made a very carefully worded, positive, lighthearted joke that can be best translated as "remember to not stay sad, please, because i would love it if you wouldn't have to feel sad anymore" so.... actually, there's many people that would respond to a comment like that with appreciation and feel comforted by it. It's just a different culture. Don't judge them for saying something sweet, just because it doesn't sound that way to you, a complete stranger to that culture.

i think he means that him saying "boop" was his last way of showing how he really was. Someone that could still in his last hours online with many people could say a cute and fond "boop" to everyone. Still, its a boop that breaks your heart.

@@Dhzury He is a pretty well known streamer that was suffering from depression so much so, that he decided to take his own life. It's very sad as this could have been prevented if he had spoken out and been more open about it. 😞

Its because he was talking with Dr. K who's a therapist/psychologist helping him get through things for weeks leading up to this. Reckful was very open about what he was going through.

With hindsight, you can feel it’s going to happen. Even in his darkest moment, he was trying to bring happiness to his fans. I’ve never seen his content before, but from this one viewing, I can tell he was a great guy who will be missed dearly. Rest in piece, friend.
Honestly that's the same for alot people myself included. We never saw any of his content but this minute and a half has shown us all we needed to know about him as a man.
Scary thing is being like him. The sad clown. All we want is to make you smile, but all we do is cry. I've been hiding my depression and thoughts for years. When I've tried to talk about it, people get upset and weird. They feel like I'm attacking them or making a threat or something. It's often better to just tuck it away and pretend it isn't there so that other people don't get upset. We know our limits and always have a plan though. Take care of those around you and seek help if you need it.
I see someone commented "Why have you been streaming so much lately". Reminds me of when i was thinking of committing s*icide and a few days before i planned on hanging out with as much people i could. I even called in sick at work so i can have a beach day with my closest friend and she was surprised bc i was always careful not to miss work. she said "You skipped work twice now, you've never done that" and i just laughed thinking about how she would look back on that conversation later. Later that night I attempted but failed. My body rejected the pills and i ended up waking in the middle of the night puking all over the side of my bed. The only person who knows about my attempt is my mom because I broke down in front of her the next day. (And i guess now including whoever is reading this comment) So just take this as advice, when you see a loved one acting out of the ordinary, check on them. They might just be acting that way because they want to but it never hurts to ask.
I hope you'll get help and continue to live. Your suicide failed, a second chance is given to you. Don't squander it, stranger. Sounds cliché but you are not alone. I, and others like us continue to fight the demons inside our heads. I am dealing with my own mental health struggles too. Treat yourself with love, you too are worthy of love and compassion.
not really when someone has made up their mind to do something that drastic, very very rarily can someone stop it especially in this case with no one knowing what was going through his mind after saying he would stream the following day or so so there was no real clue or hint, so may had been a trigger later on in the day after the stream.

This is exactly the same for me. I had no idea who this guy was until this came into my recommended and I watched like 10 news articles about him. Still, watching his last moments on twitch feels terrible.
This came into my recommended, never seen this streamer once in my life but honestly in that 1 minute and 30s I could see the pain and true sadness emitting from him but still having a loving community backing him up. I hope he rests peacefully now.

This is so sad man. The worst part about stuff like this is that lots of the time it’s so easily avoidable. If you have anyone in your life who seems off or is showing signs of feeling depressed at all, please talk to them. It can make such a huge difference.

Knowing he commit suicide, The way he carried out the length of saying his goodbyes to his chat was way longer than any usual “oh I’m ending the stream peace out chat” indicating that he knew this would be his last encounter with chat which makes this hard to watch
That's not at all what was happening. He had an episode later that day around 2 AM. He proposed to his ex GF on twitter and people started making fun at him and telling him to kill himself.
Jesus, I didn't know of him, but this is so heartbreaking. The way he was sort of trying to "look on the bright side", saying maybe it'd be uphill from here on, also looking out for his fans and telling them to be friends with each other were all really touching. All that makes me think he was a good person. Rest in peace...

He didn't know what to do or say. So he kinda slipped up and said what he needed deep down, and was really hoping for someone just anyone to reach out to him on a personal level. The steps to stopping suicide starts at affordable care. Depression doesn't go away and sometimes helping someone can feel impossible because they end up right back at square one in such a short time... I lost my bestfriend and he seeked help and got it but still took his life in 2015. Our problems are everywhere. Government, high class individuals invading taxes by loopholes, school systems either not helping or not having the funding to correctly help someone, parents not being aware at all, abuse, loss of money, loss of self identity. It's a whole list that goes on and on. Loving each other is the key. Helping others can go a long way. Why is the world in a universe but yet so divided? We should able to get essentials to live at no cost or the very least very little. Money money money money and more god damn money. That's all we talk about. I'm broke because.... it's a on going issue and its a fend for yourself world we've been cultured to. Sorry for the rant but I myself deal with depression heavy. Since Christmas it's been downhill then down into a thorn ridden field. I need a hug and to release on someone. The world sucks right now and I'm just existing daily. Me personally, I dont open up because I feel like I'm whining and complaining and when I do I get oh it's the mindset and you gotta just have a dont give a fuck attitude. That doesn't work for me. It feels like a lazy way to deal and a way for me to fall deeper. I feel alive in nature because I do give a fuck and I want everything to thrive greatly. Another reason I hate opening is because I cant stay on subject (as you see). I end up explaining something and get an all around confused look. It sure is but a lot of people just look the other way. Some people will admit they are struggling and need help and don’t get it and the ones who don’t people say if they would have said something then they would have helped but it’s hard to see it that way when so many people are ignored who do speak up about it. It’s easier to just stay quiet and leave without letting anyone know anything
Not always some people just want to die some do it because other reasons and those are the one that can be stopped possibly ... its easier to die than to face life not everyone was build for it ....
But he did because be was too weak to handle the hardships of this world even when he had what billions wanted as a dream. Guess having such a great lovable fanbase made him ungrateful
You can tell he wanted to just let everything out and tell his chat about everything he was experiencing, but even then he held it in and spoke of advice he should have used himself. It’s heartbreaking that we feel the need to hold in things like this, because some people truly care, and will do everything they can to be there for you and support you. Often times they are only aware after it’s too late, and that’s the saddest thing of all.
It's a common thing with people who are depressed/suicidal to live by the "do as I say not as I do" mentality as a way of subtle warning others to not live like how they do to deal with their pain even though they are to afraid to take their own advice
If you're interested, there's a documentary about Byron (Reckful) on TH-cam made 4 month before his suicide that pretty much details his whole life. I recommend it, it's really well done.

This is honestly what depression does to you. It makes you feel like you have nobody despite having people in your life who care about you, and hearing him tell his chat to get together and play games together really shows that he doesn't want anybody else to feel this way. As somebody who is going through depression myself I wouldn't wish this kind of feeling on my worse enemy.
For people who are going through depression repeat 5 times out loud: "I have the conviction that good things will come in my life" and then "I like myself". This helped me a lot.

this just came up on my home page but it is heartbreaking and i didn’t know of him. he gave away the advice he knew he should’ve taken whilst having the intention to do what he did 💙
Don't know him, but that's hard to see how he hides his pain, anyways when he is feeling so shitty he just struggles to smile and give some good advices to his subscribers to not repeat his mistakes probably. What an absolute legend.
Push through it, guys. Life gets difficult, sometimes it all just feels too overwhelming. Debt, loneliness, overwhelming pressure to succeed, whatever is bothering you, don't be afraid to talk to people. People come and go. Friends move on, lovers lose interest, loved ones pass away, but don't let loneliness take control. I wish Reckful would have followed his advice. Go meet new people. There's always like-minded people out there. Whatever you do, just don't give up. Depression doesn't last forever. Fight against it. Don't let it win. Suicide might be your way out of a tough spot, but it also takes away every hope you'll ever have of improving. Don't take that away from yourself.

As heartbreaking as this is, I dont think he knew in this moment. He suffered from Bipolar II which causes increased mania and depressive episodes. He may have been feeling down and lonely for the past weeks caused by depressive episodes. But i think it was the mania to act out that suicide, meaning it could have been totally spur of the moment. There was no "planning" like people who dont suffer mental illness. He jumped from the balcony in the back video, with his tweets from that day and how he was acting online leans me more towards a manic episode and acting on manic impulses, and that to me is even more heartbreaking and sad. In the end it doesnt matter RIP BYRON

I have never known if this man until now but I really can’t fathom how heartbreaking that was to watch. It's just a different culture. Don't judge them for saying something sweet, just because it doesn't sound that way to you, a complete stranger to that culture.

Honestly that's the same for alot people myself included. We never saw any of his content but this minute and a half has shown us all we needed to know about him as a man.
Scary thing is being like him. The sad clown. All we want is to make you smile, but all we do is cry. I've been hiding my depression and thoughts for years. When I've tried to talk about it, people get upset and weird. They feel like I'm attacking them or making a threat or something. It's often better to just tuck it away and pretend it isn't there so that other people don't get upset. We know our limits and always have a plan though.

I see someone commented "Why have you been streaming so much lately". Reminds me of when i was thinking of committing s*icide and a few days before i planned on hanging out with as much people i could. I even called in sick at work so i can have a beach day with my closest friend and she was surprised bc i was always careful not to miss work. she said "You skipped work twice now, you've never done that" and i just laughed thinking about how she would look back on that conversation later. Later that night I attempted but failed. My body rejected the pills and i ended up waking in the middle of the night puking all over the side of my bed. The only person who knows about my attempt is my mom because I broke down in front of her the next day. (And i guess now including whoever is reading this comment) So just take this as advice, when you see a loved one acting out of the ordinary, check on them. They might just be acting that way because they want to but it never hurts to ask.

Idk, people with a normally developed sense of empathy care. But hurting people is fine too I guess if that's what you want to do. It's not like I can moralize you if you don't care, so you do you.

Knowing he commit suicide, The way he carried out the length of saying his goodbyes to his chat was way longer than any usual “oh I’m ending the stream peace out chat” indicating that he knew this would be his last encounter with chat which makes this hard to watch

Jesus, I didn't know of him, but this is so heartbreaking. The way he was sort of trying to "look on the bright side", saying maybe it'd be uphill from here on, also looking out for his fans and telling them to be friends with each other were all really touching. It just seems like he was asking for people to message him and talk to him but he couldn't bare the potential embarrassment of asking for help😕. At least thats how it seems too me. Rest in peace

Недавно узнал что его уже 5 лет как нет с нами, жаль, очень жаль что ему никто не помог, в последних стримах и видео было видно что он разбит и нуждается в поддержке, он предлагал людям пожить с ним в квартире в свободных комнатах, сделал предложение своей бывшей, он был очень одинок в последние свои дни, и никто ему не помог, это ужасно...
Как сказал Tyler1, эти фейковые друзья которые с ним тусили, с которыми он зависал на буткемпе, путешествовал, они, будь они настоящими друзьями , сделали бы всё, но не допустили бы случившегося, окружайте себя достойными людьми, которые разделяет с вами и ваши проблемы, а не только минуты радости и достатка
Многие скажут, что сделать суицид это проявление слабости, лёгкий выход, но я считаю что на это нужно иметь смелость, сделать шаг в вечность, пустоту, кишка у него явно была не тонка

This is so tragic. This needs to be a front and center issue. Suicide is preventable.
The steps to stopping suicide starts at affordable care. Depression doesn't go away and sometimes helping someone can feel impossible because they end up right back at square one in such a short time... I lost my bestfriend and he seeked help and got it but still took his life in 2015. Our problems are everywhere. Government, high class individuals invading taxes by loopholes, school systems either not helping or not having the funding to correctly help someone, parents not being aware at all, abuse, loss of money, loss of self identity. It's a whole list that goes on and on. Loving each other is the key. Helping others can go a long way. Why is the world in a universe but yet so divided? We should able to get essentials to live at no cost or the very least very little. Money money money money and more god damn money. That's all we talk about. I'm broke because.... it's a on going issue and its a fend for yourself world we've been cultured to. Sorry for the rant but I myself deal with depression heavy. Since Christmas it's been downhill then down into a thorn ridden field. I need a hug and to release on someone. The world sucks right now and I'm just existing daily. Me personally, I dont open up because I feel like I'm whining and complaining and when I do I get oh it's the mindset and you gotta just have a dont give a fuck attitude. That doesn't work for me. It feels like a lazy way to deal and a way for me to fall deeper. I feel alive in nature because I do give a fuck and I want everything to thrive greatly. Another reason I hate opening is because I cant stay on subject (as you see). I end up explaining something and get an all around confused look. I dont feel understood because I cant Express what I'm thinking properly. Anyways that's all my opinion and my sob story.

It sure is but a lot of people just look the other way. Some people will admit they are struggling and need help and don’t get it and the ones who don’t people say if they would have said something then they would have helped but it’s hard to see it that way when so many people are ignored who do speak up about it. It’s easier to just stay quiet and leave without letting anyone know anything

You can tell he wanted to just let everything out and tell his chat about everything he was experiencing, but even then he held it in and spoke of advice he should have used himself. It’s heartbreaking that we feel the need to hold in things like this, because some people truly care, and will do everything they can to be there for you and support you. Often times they are only aware after it’s too late, and that’s the saddest thing of all.
It's a common thing with people who are depressed/suicidal to live by the "do as I say not as I do" mentality as a way of subtle warning others to not live like how they do to deal with their pain even though they are to afraid to take their own advice

This is honestly what depression does to you. It makes you feel like you have nobody despite having people in your life who care about you, and hearing him tell his chat to get together and play games together really shows that he doesn't want anybody else to feel this way. As somebody who is going through depression myself I wouldn't wish this kind of feeling on my worse enemy.

Push through it, guys. Life gets difficult, sometimes it all just feels too overwhelming. Debt, loneliness, overwhelming pressure to succeed, whatever is bothering you, don't be afraid to talk to people. People come and go. Friends move on, lovers lose interest, loved ones pass away, but don't let loneliness take control. I wish Reckful would have followed his advice. Go meet new people. There's always like-minded people out there.
Whatever you do, just don't give up. Depression doesn't last forever. Fight against it. Don't let it win. Suicide might be your way out of a tough spot, but it also takes away every hope you'll ever have of improving. Don't take that away from yourself.
