This was the first of its kind in the history of Uganda. Appreciate efforts by inter-religious council to bring candidates together for the sake of harmony and not divisive politics. As we understand religion and politics are inseparable. But, let's take this new development to another level instead of taking them for granted as Makerere discussions as alleged by some candidate. united we stand and divided we fall. lets exercise politics for development, not disunity but we believe before God we are one. would suggest that next time round, you schedule for two sessions , one at the beginning of election campaigns and another one at the end, summing up the election campaigns. we are facing a leadership challenge associated with overstaying in power bse now that the litmus has been tested, i do believe term limits can be re-instated because human beings can not control themselves naturally and more bound to be more corrupt as long as one stays in power. Respect the rule of law for corporate governance to take root. succession planning is not an easy joke and thats why we have never had an answer from the Incumbent. Its u and I to bring the change we need for the sake of peace and tranquility.
As we drill the oil, we need to bear in mind that such natural resources need to be conserved for the present and future generation. Its the mandate of the President once put in office to ensure such resources are put to optimal use for the maximum benefit of the citizens of the country..
We should build a culture whereby past leaders should stay in their home country Uganda instead of waiting to be ousted with the use of the gun, only to die in exile. overstaying brings instability which would otherwise be not called for; and this can be taken from the disagreement on the succession process.
