  • Aussie racing legend, Kevin Bartlett, was reunited with a Lola T330 F5000 racer that when he last saw it, was broken in two and left him hospitalised following a massive crash at Pukekohe during the Tasman series, in the early 1970s.
KB fondly recalls that era of the sport as wel as looking forward to the new S5000 class that launches in Australia soon.

I'm Dan, Martha's my wife. I worked for a company in Dallas, TX, Hutchison Racing Engines, in the late 60s and early 70s. Worked for Gus Hutchison, who was the driver. We raced a T300 in 1973, then Gus bought a March 73A, which we raced in 1973, all our racing was in America. Too, I was able to go to several of the Vintage F5000 races which is still going on. Eric Haga had Gus's March with the side draft motor that he raced until he died in 2021. Had lots of fun doing that. Great video, you go Kevin, neat T330.

Go on Kevin, you really want too!
Though I suspect just at a practice day or displays.
I think you are too bent to risk racing it again.

Well the alloy heads weren't around when they raced either. They all went after 292 chev production iron heads as a starting point. I had one of these 26 / 28 years go and was surprised they had already allowed brodix and brownfield heads.
