Mostly disappointed! You want to see a man can fly...not filmed with a shaky camera all the time , with super fast editing and hyper realistic , hyper kinetic BS! A real waste of time...They did the same with the chinese martial arts performers like Jackie Chan, jet Li, and Tony Jaa! Very bad directing can spoil all the fun!

The only two things I didn't like were the color and the execution of how Jonathan Kent died. That scene could have presented Clark using super speed to save JK. JK would only have died afterwards, like Zod killing him. It would have been awesomer if it had been done that way.

Upa It was it's own thing, not a Nolan version of Superman. Nolan just produced it. The whole dark and gritty aspect is kind of a need when it comes to EVERY CHARACTER in DC Comics

The fighting scenes are really good in this movie. Especially Faora's fight scenes . Which is rare for comic book movies that have characters with superman's power levels.
I'm a big fan of Superman, been that way since I was in my teens. 30 years later, that feeling is stronger than ever and this movie ranks way up there to me along with the 1978 one, TDK and the SW first trilogy. The flying fight scenes were everything I envisioned. They finally were able to depict the power he holds in one single fist. I felt the violence, the speed and the intensity when he would hit Zod in mid-air. Absolutely fantastic movie.

His not perfect Superman. He doesn't has Artic breath and super human breath maybe because they didn't gave that to him. Superman in comic books, Superman's Adventure, cartoons in Justice League cartoons and in other Superman movies he has Artic breath and super human breath. This one don't. The original Superman movie the best it shows the story properly plus Lois Lane make that Superman name not the General call call him Superman like in this movie. They should make at least belt on him and whole Supermans one bits of hair curly on his forehead but this one don't. Not showing how that two farmers found him. Suit and cape too dark and another thing doesn't have have belt.
***** They only did one movie so far, they aren't going to make Superman use every power right out of the gate, and who cares if he has no belt? He doesn't have underpants on his suit either and nobody minds. Henry did an amazing job as Superman and it's way better than what Bale's adaptation for Batman was. He has the look, the voice, and the acting skills to be the man of steel.

***** It was very corny. The dialogue on MOS was much better was they actually spoke like real people. The biggest plot hole was the fact that Lois couldn't recognise him if he had glasses on which is beyond stupid.
After Zod was depowered, he broke his hand and though him over the ice cliff to his death. And if he survived that long drop, thats another plot hole because it should have killed him.
W-James Superman II is far superior to Man of Steel. It was supposed to be corny. That was literally SUPERMAN. I don’t remember Superman killing anyone so can you please specify so I can defend that claim? There was no charcater development in Man of Steel. Reeves Superman is overrated and people really only like him through nostalgia, and that’s okay. But to say that his movies are superior than Man of Steel is just wrong. Cavills superman has undeniably much more depth to the character and is far superior than reeves. From the physical traits, acting, physique, to the character appreciation. And I disagree that Superman is supposed to be corny like you said, very much. Did you say no character development?

1. He learns to hone and control his powers.
2. He shouldn’t show off his powers.
Things we learn from the present:
1. He is a good person trying to help out.
2. He would risk his life to save Earth, which isn’t even his true planet.
3. He trusts in mankind.
And many more hints can be seen...
I think you really need to rewatch man of steel a few more times if you really think there was no character development. And that’s not a bad thing, because MoS gets better with each and every viewing experience.
We appreciate the classics for what they are. But just because they are classics doesn’t mean they are the best of all time. The Donner films surely had a lot of flaws in it and Reeves Superman may be iconic, but not a pure goodness of heart such as Cavills Superman nor as relatable. Don’t get me wrong though, they’re both outstanding as Superman and Clark Kent.

People disliked this movie because they love marvel so much that when Zack Snyder created the perfect superman..they couldnt contain their hate when they know deep down inside it had the best storyline,action sequence, related super man movie ever made....Marvel movies are great...but they never got me thinking the way Man of Steel and BVS did...its pure artistry.

I can't understand why people don't get hyped up over this movie as much as they do over the Marvel ones.... like seriously the whole fight sequence, sroryline, and meaning behind it are all amazing (better than the Avengers ones in my opinion) and idkkkk this really bothers me

Kiko Li I like both film i watched this film 3/4 times and specially the action scene are the best my favorite scene is when the general zod throws the truck at superman and then superman dodge that and then they start fighting. can't say which one is better avengers or man of steel.......
I'm still, two years on, so pissed at the reception of this movie. It was exciting, well acted and it properly fulfilled the criteria for being a modern reboot, so when everybody started whining about how dark and boring it was i just got really pissed off. :(

I disagree. I like Hans Zimmer, but nothing about the soundtrack is memorable or iconic. Mozart's music is remarkable, unforgettable and never fades into the unmemorable. John Williams' score is far better, more iconic and entirely unforgettable. It is, and always will be identified with Superman. I can't even recall one theme from Man of Steel, musically speaking. Utterly forgotten.
@@jongoff7829 Yeah, hell no. Williams version may be iconic but not the best. Zimmer’s score beats Williams Superman score by a LONG SHOT. MoS is truly one of the best soundtracks ever made.

My favorite superhero movies so far! In my opinion, MoS is better than BvS for it story, plot. For me, the only good things about BvS is the final battle, especially the entrance of WW. Other things before that seen, well, seem passable. Unlike BvS, MoS capture my attention from the beginning, and it was really awesome for all the Krypton scene. The story, yeah maybe for most people in the first half of this movie. they might think it slow and can be boring, but for me it just ok. The fight scene in this movie.... EPIC!

Henry Cavill is the ONLY other actor (besides Christopher Reeve obviously) who actually looks legit and believable in the suit. It looks like a "costume" on anyone else as far as I'm concerned.

This Man OF Steel film, is telling the audience that our SUPERMAN is an alien. What will people reaction when they knew there is some kind alien that look like us?? It take 30 years CLARK KENT try to find the answer WHO IN THE HELL HE IS ON THIS PLANET?? He only knows that when he discovered his alien ship assistance by human of earth that have this technology to help him.
The flashback tells us how CLARK KENT struggle to keep his secret from society and what cost him for keeping his secret (JONATHAN KENT die). When he accept his origin that he was an alien, he try to help humanity with his power but only works under yellow suns. That why his first flight straight up to atmosphere so he can feels his power come from yellow suns.
In young age, CLARK KENT learn how to control his abilities from his mother, MARTHA KENT. In one day, he has active 4 of his power accidentally such as HEAT VISION, SUPER HEARING, X RAY VISION and SONAR HEARING.
His suit is not like from his mother ( reference such as SMALLVILLE and comic books) but logically it's a suit that come from his PLANET and have this "S" that means for JOR-EL family symbol.
His power come from KRYPTONIAN dna. JOR-EL steal it from Kryptonian science department. How did he knew this VORTEX?? Because JOR-EL is Director of Science Department. Superman kills ZOD but at the same time, USA Government didn't trust him as an ally so that's why they put him under surveillance camera but he destroy it. The reason is SUPERMAN live for 33 years and become one of the people.

Most people assume Superman, aquama, wonder woman dont kill because Batman doesnt kill, but thats just not true read action comics #779 where superman kills Zod. Wonder woman is an Amazon with a sword SHE KILLS, aquaman also kills BUT THEY DO IT LAST RESORT. Not like Marvel were every character kills goons just because theyre in the way. I mean look at burtons batman, BATMAN KILLS PEOPLE IN THAT MOVIE, but batman does have a no kill set in stone, the Justice leauge has no kill policy thats more like a guideline, which is why batman is omly a part timer.
Snyder has already set up a world of consequences, cities are destroyed, people die, superman is under government surveillance.
Marvel has no consequences, no one dies, NYC was invaded by beings of anotber dimension and the city only suffered minor cosmetic damage.
