Joni Mitchell still owns her Lookout Mountain house and today it’s a rental. She has said that she’ll never sell it. Across the hills in the Lake Hollywood area is also a lot of rock ‘n roll history, too. For instance, Ringo Starr lived there with his wife, Barbara Bach. In the 90’s I had the pleasure of chatting with him as he watered his front lawn (!) Such a delightful guy!

@@RockessentialTim Back in the 90's i worked with the Crosby Brothers on the Property... It was Tom Mixs' place you know, and the Birdman built the house with the redwood and sycamore going thru the roof, a mild nightmare as things grow but what a place with the natural spring with turtles and ducks! Down in what we call the Dungeon is a tunnel that goes underneath and comes up across laurel canyon blvd at Harry Houdinis' old place! Stories go how he would disappear from guest he didn't want to hang with and they thought it was magic!!! Lol, What a Great neighborhood indeed!
You have done a great service to this special place dear Beautifuls, keep up with your good selves:) YES!

Love the vids! I have never visited Laurel Cayon, but it is now on my bucket list... I worked with many of the artist that lived around there as a sound engineer - I used to tell people, I've worked with all my heros of the 60's except the Beatles. But later as a network producer in the 80's & 90's I did have the pleasure of meeting Paul & Linda and working with Ringo, and in 2007 I received this call on my cell from a sweet British accented woman asking me about getting into voiceovers - that woman was non-other than Louise Harrison (George Harrison's sister).
I would have loved to be around back in those days, my god the stories - outstanding!

I lived at 8330 Lookout Mtn. for 10 years in the 80's and knew it was magical. It's my favorite place I've ever lived. Weird Al visited. He lived over the hill. I didn't know I was across the street from where David Crosby lived. An older actress in bad health, from the Anne of Green Gables movie, lived there when I was there. I did not want to leave but did for love. Many times, I wish I would've stayed. Christine Taylor was in the hot tub next door one night when I was walking up my fifty steps to the front door. One time a policeman knocked on my door and said that they'd gotten a call from someone who was being held as a sex slave and all they could see was the street sign outside my window! It wasn't me!

Its still a pretty magical place --- a more expensive magical place but magical nonetheless. When I walk my dog people are still very friendly and want to shoot the breeze. BTW: Mark Volman from the Turtles used to live right there on Lookout near the intersection across from the Wonderland school.

I'm not convinced about Crosby and that house at Lookout Mountain and Horseshoe Canyon. He had already bought his place on Lisbon Ln (off Beverley Glen Dr) before he left the Byrds, and moved from there to Novato. Maybe he crashed there, but I don't believe he ever lived there.

In hindsight and after doing a dedicated video on Crosby where I visited Lisbon Ln, I agree with you. The house actually belonged to his manager and as you mentioned, Crosby was crashing there when he was down and out not long after splitting with the Byrds. Right on!

David Crosby did an interview, shortly before he died, while riding around in the backseat of a car, and he pointed out this house. Don't remember what he said exactly. I wonder why the Frank Zappa house didn't get rebuilt. Shame! Who owns it now, I wonder.

    Y'all need to WTHU...
Things happened there on Halloween for a reason.
We were all played... most of the musicians, like the actors, for example in Easy Rider, were the children of military personnel or Intel services...
440Hz standardized by The Rockefellers. Find a clue!
LSD, Timothy Leary, Terence McKenna, they were all psyop operatives. Manson was MK Ultra, too. Everyone in the US has been in MK'd. See; Operation Paperclip...
Read the book, "Weird Scenes Inside The Canyon". They use frequencies against us... like Tesla said, if you want to know the secrets of the universe think in terms of energy, vibration, and frequency...
Holly tree was used by The Druids to cast spells... words/etymology; "Spelling". Get it? WTHU!
They weren't all Bad actors but many of them were! With damn few exceptions, they aren't heroes to me, anymore. Musical, or cultural...

How do you know what they have accomplished on their own though? I'm just curious because that seems rather presumptuous. Is a person an unaccomplished nobody just because they are not a household name? I mean, shit, that would exclude, leave bereft 99.99996% of humanity. Is the guy who invented the microprocessor sad and lame, do you know his name? I know who Kim Kardashian is. Should I automatically admire her more than these two chill guys? I am pretty sure very, very few people under the age of 45 have a clue who Joni Mitchell is or was and yet she is an artistic genius, right up there with Jim and the Doors, (although I confess that, to me, no one is like Morrison). Also, they don't seem to be going gah gah over them, just kind of feeling the vibe and sharing it. But you know what tells me that these men are whole, real, and accomplished? They are graciously responding to people here and they were not triggered by your nasty comment. I doubt they would lower themselves and they probably read right over it and smiled. I really don't care if they clean the restrooms, I could respect that more than a snide comment like that.
EDIT: I think I thought of the Woodstock movie there with my restroom reference, both because it seemed useful to my point and the CSN, Joni discussion triggered Woodstock LOL.. A camera crew interviewed a man cleaning the port-a-johns and I had the impression they were kind of initially ridiculing him a tad. Like who would want that job at a festival of 100,000+ unwashed, stinky kids using a few dozen toilets. This man expressed pride in his work, indicated that he had a daughter somewhere in that crowd; that he wanted all the kids to enjoy themselves and have safe, clean, sanitary facilities. It turned right around on them and I remember welling up a little when I first saw that. That man cleaning toilets is known or been seen by millions more people than possibly you will ever be. That doesnt mean I look down on you necessarily, but your comment does dishonor you a little..unless you are truly saddened, but you should not be, I doubt they are!!!
