Yes, the Kiramann's helped the Undercity by locking the Grey away!! Caitlyn went against her mothers wishes and released/weaponized the Grey to enact chemical warfare against the Undercity in order to find Jinx. The opening animation is amazing but it is also straight up police brutality with a sprinkle of chemical-based war crimes.
@@chris14560 Thank you! Act 1 is just a really great example of how easy it is for people in power (Caitlyn) to slip into violent fascism the moment it affects them personally. How disappointed her mother would be if she were still alive...
@@inkfox4225 Her mother was outraged at the idea of independence for Zaun when the idea was proposed too, she did one good thing and that's it, she was a problem too.
@@wl4810 I meant in relation to the Grey specifically, since that was what my original comment was about ^^ in no way defending the Topsiders by any means haha
She knows Cait wants Vengeance and she also knows, thanks to Salo, that Caitlyns family name also "bewitches" people. Shes a perfect pick because she knows that Cait is in a really bad place what with her mother just being murdered and funeral attacked, so shes easier to manipulate and control (and we know Ambessa is probably the best at manipulation left in the city), and that her name alone is an easy way to manipulate all the important people into backing her choice.
can't wait for ur act2 reactions I just watched ep 4,5 and 6 and the unthinkable happened, the show got even better, how can they keep doing that!!!!???????
First reactors ive seen make the connection of the Shimmer tattoo on dudes busted legs. That purple color is so Shimmer coded i instantly suspected the same
Poor Vi, she just can’t catch a break especially when Cait tried to kill Jinx but a kid got in the way, luckily Vi stopped Cait from taking the shot and almost killing the kid if she moved at the last minute or second
Man it would have been a real shame if Vi just used those gauntlets that would let her lift a horse one handed to... pick up and move this 20 pound child out of the way lol. Instead she just goes back on her word to Cait immediately the second she had an excuse lol.
@@Orapac4142really? you think vi would want the cycle to continue, another child watching someone they clearly care about die in front of their eyes, like she had to, and jinx had to, twice each? this is SUCH a stupid argument. a child being there changes the ENTIRE situation and ripping the kid off of her would have changed nothing other than isha wouldn’t have died with jinx, she would have become another person seeking revenge for the death of a loved one. cait used to care about breaking that cycle, but she has lost herself. SHE was in the wrong there. not vi.
@@ranniwolves Notice Vi wasnt at all concerned about if the kid saw her get shot, because lets be honest she and Isha have definitely been seeing extreme violence their entire lives so it wouldnt even have crossed her mind at that point. No, she wasnt concerned with Isha SEEING violence, but was concerned if Cait hit Isha despite being able to shoot Jinxes finger off to stop her from hitting Vi and shoot the gun out of Ishas hand, and despite the fact she could have easily picked her up and move her and even held her so she couldnt see Jinx die. Lets also not forget that Isha was about to pull the trigger and send Vis face out through the back of her skull before Caitlyn shot the gun from her hand. She was about to kill Vi, and hanging out with Sevika and Jinx itd probably be a safe bet from Vis perspective that shes seen violence if shes somehow escaped seeing it just by virtue of living in underground Gotham. Vi didnt have any concern about tracking down Jinx, or killing anyone working for the Chem barons to do so or any of their tactics to accomplish this. But the moment an excuse is available for her to not let Caitlyn take the shot comes up, she grabs it. And im not even blaming her for that because no matter how much you say "ok lets kill my family member" youre never really going to be ready to do that. But the point is that she still chose to stop Cait, again, after making it clear to her she is 100% willing to help her - and its absolutely understandable why Cait feels utter betrayal from Vi. In the span of what, a couple weeks top, Caitlyn started with trying to do do the right thing and help people and having her efforts rewarded with: Being shot at multiple times, being kidnapped multiple times with one of those being naked in her own home during a home invasion, having a terrorist try to get her sister to execute you, and then having your crush talk you out of shooting her - causing the immediate effect of your own mother being murdered in front of you. Also of note is that Vi didnt even consider trying to arrest Jinx to offer as an alternative seeing as how she had her pinned and Jinx had effectively stopped fighting. Her only concern, even after that momentary hesitation, was "what if you hit the kid" despite the fact it was in her power to remove the kid from danger.
This season hasn't been as grounded or as meticulous in its storytelling as Season One. But hot damn, does it come through with cinematically stunning scenes and melodrama. The final sequence with Caitlyn assuming dictatorship is a masterclass in visual storytelling.
