Thanks for this, was just trying the tension method for 20 minutes without much luck, looked up your video and I had it open in 15 seconds! Bounce method :)
I can confirm this works with the newer "vulcan" squires. this method is so much better than the traditional tensioning decode of this lock I've seen elsewhere on youtube! Thanks!
Cheers @LockPickingCuber & David Miller, I was just about to buy one of these or the vulcan models but I'll keep looking. The warrior line costs a bit more but hopefully doesn't have the same vulnerability. Appreciate the info 👍
Hmmm... Sorry not sure what to do about that. Maybe close your eyes and really slowly and systematically feel each number on each dial in turn. Maybe that will help feel the difference?
Amazing. Saw BBill's 7+ minute brute force decoding and didnt even want to bother... Saw this and opened my lock right away. Subscribed for that alone. Only note is that digits one off can give a 'false bounce' so failure without reason is probably 90% success
My Squire CP50 refused to open and your technique absolutely worked! It decided to change on its own the 2nd digit to the next number from what I had orignally set!
Knew i should have looked on here first! Bought one these, and despite knowing nothing i was able to set and find an unknown code before the end of the video!
I have just 'acquired' one of these locks and proceeded to see if they are really this easy to open. The bottom 3 wheels were easy but the top wasn't giving much away. It was just a minor inconvenience and it was open first time in less than 60 seconds!
Thank you so much for this! I was fiddling around for 30 minutes before I came here. As I was turning the cogs to hide the numbers (with the screw tightened!) it dislodged one of the cogs and changed the code. I absolutely hate the CP40, I'll be picking up a new one ASAP. I'm getting one with a key, it's absolutely pointless.
Thanks. I have the CP60 it does it on all digits except the last one on the right. So someone just has to turn through the numbers on a single dial! As you said, pity, as it is a hefty feeling thing.
Whilst i appreciate that this video absolutely demonstrates a flaw, and I can attest to having performed it on multiple cp models. My cp60, received today, has firm and or bouncy wheels, but they are NOT an indicator of a true gate! When the correct combination is entered some are bouncy and others are firm. Not only this, but the button press and look for binders approach is also apparently solved in my lock! Maybe I got lucky?? Depressing the button firmly, as in Bosnial Bills video only serves to bind all the wheels. I am both very pleased and sad as I bought the lock to practice blindfolded wheel bounce opening of the cp range. 😂. Looks like I have a naughty bucket for a lock i thought would end up a breeze!
Blimey, thats worrying. Well spotted. I did notice the springyness, but I didnt notice it was different round the digits until I saw this video. Good to see there is a false gate at different positions on each wheel (unlike the previous model of this which had a false gate directly opposite the true gate on each wheel). Have you looked at the newer Warrior 55 and 65 combi padlocks yet? They are an absolute pain to set as you need a tool to lever the wheels round and that tool deforms the holes it fits into in the wheels. It can also be set half way between each digit as well as on the digit. Hence, very easy to 'brick'. Im still studying feedback/feel to decode it. I get more positive feel by removing the screw that holds the unlocking plate on and inserting a longer big flat head screw in the hole and pushing it in to tension the mechanism instead of pulling it, which is whats normally done to open this lock at the correct combo.
hi, I'm not English and I don't really understand English, but can someone explain to me how I can lock this lock without knowing the pin code? thanks in advance
I have decoded the first one you did a while back for work using same method as yourself, as they get bigger the spring feeling on wheels is very different, yes agree, springy but do not open as smaller one. Would have been interesting for you to show others out package. We all have done it in the past where we practice on a lock first and that is how we learn, but then to do two out of package openings in same video will confuse as you do not do anything other than push wheels to say they have the same issue. Not knocking your technique or video my friend as it was great, but when doing a fresh opening it really needs to be shown of opening too. Well that's my ramble buddy, but who am I to speak who gave up locksport a few years back LOL!!!! Rich (Wadda-C2)
Well, that isn't thrilling seeing as my workshop unit is locked with one of these outside.... 🙃 It's funny because the guy running the unit clearly bought two but lost the combination of his first one and had to buy a second one as there's one exactly the same just sat on the wall 😂

Saw two abandoned Squires attached to a fence; now have two servicable locks 😁. Amazing technique, thank you and add another subscriber!
I have a question all my numbers appear to be bouncy but I can’t distinguish which is the most please help

Cannot thank you enough for this video! Saved me sleeping in a mini cooper after the car got locked in a Curry's car park in Birmingham City centre 😅

..... aged parents locked with a Squire CSL1.. I hope your observations work for this too. Very thoughtful to post. Peaceful moments.
I don’t know what model lock I found, but the first method worked brilliantly

Perfect, much easier bouncing dials than the holding down release button, thanks.
Thank you, just feeling the bounce absolutely worked for my CP40! My horses were locked in the field so this was very handy!
Oh wow! Glad to have helped! Hope the horses are all ok...
I bought one of these two years ago to see if I could figure it out, I didnt. Thanks for the video!!
Brought a used squire lock same as yours and it worked using this method! Thank you
Thank you worked perfectly had the lock open in about 30 seconds after this video
Thanks. I have the CP60 it does it on all digits except the last one on the right. So someone just has to turn through the numbers on a single dial! As you said, pity, as it is a hefty feeling thing.
Ok, having opened, professionally, dozens of these by feel, I can't believe I never noticed this flaw! 😂

good companies like squire make changes to their locks it seems they watch these videos to address flaws
Worked first time, fantastic
excellent very concise Thank you
the Bounce and recoding worked a dream
Just bought a C50 and yes this still works. I'm unskilled and did this with my eyes closed (LITERALLY)
blindfolded lock picking! I like it! :-)
wow thiss bounce method very good managed to open after 20 secons after trying other ways rubbing my thumbs raw
This works 100% :) thank you
Scary but yep worked on every single squire padlock at work
Yeah -- since I got into lock picking, I keep noticing how the most insecure locks tend to be the ones you see all over the place...
got to buy new padlocks now thanks
Absolute hero!
U saved my ass with this vid

Thanks! I haven't tried out the Warriors -- I'll check them out!
been trying to open one here, 40 i think, no bounce to it, still trying. maybe they updated them.
you can literally press the button and watch the dials move slightly to the left, once the dial doesn't move, move on to the next dial and so on
Thank you
VERY GOOD 😅
Very secure!
So as a security device… it’s utterly useless
cheers mate 🤌🏼
You're welcome! Hope it helped.
@@LockPickingCuber trust me it helped lmao
How have people found this so easy. A couple of wheels are bouncy on more than 2 numbers
hi, I'm not English and I don't really understand English, but can someone explain to me how I can lock this lock without knowing the pin code? thanks in advance
Could you have not scrambled and decoded the second two locks you cut from package buddy to show the same issue as first unpackaged lock???
Fair point! I guess I just wanted to keep the video short. :-)

The benefit is that if you know a way to exploit it. You can always "save" you lock should you forget the code
Can't get into mine. No bounce on any number😢
Mine also
Bouncy where there is no bounce in my lock?plz help!
Hmm... What size lock is it?
Doesn't work for my CP60 :(
I've definitely found it hardest with the CP60, but with practice, it is possible, I think... It takes a bit of getting used to the feel...
@@LockPickingCuber Thank you for the reply!
