You need to use one of those spray paint trigger gizmos to prevent the tip of your finger from matching the color of the tool box. It also reduces the fatigue on your finger with all that painting. Great job.
You just lick the paint off your finger afterwards, that’s the best part. And it’s nice to spray the paint into a baggy and smell it. I’ve been doing this for years. Never get much painting done and my wife left me
Great job man first time watching your videos I'm very impressed you took an old rusted tool box that most people would just throw away and you brought it back to life
@@funfixing7173 Why Not Spray Paint Drawer Interiors Red? Also Did You Know Which Company Manufactured That Toolbox? Maybe Making Copies of The Manufacture's Stickers/Graphics And Replacing Them Would Have Been Cool. Especially If That Company Is No Longer Around, (Out of Business) Otherwise Cool Restoration.
I did that to an old "bread box" SO box once. I painted insides and outsides of all drawers. It took 5 times the amount of paint than I expected it to.
This was going so well right up until you just painted right over the drawer pulls. That’s the lazy way to do a revamp, regardless of how the final thing looks.
I have done 2 old box restorations like this. One, I buffed/wire wheeled the pulls and handles, masked them off, etc and they look great. The other one the pulls looked like real garbage and so I made the conscious decision to paint over them because of that.
Do you by chance know the manufacturer of this? I have one very similar only red in need of some major TLC but who is still salvageable. This was extremely satisfying to watch also!
I just redid one just like this one I bought a garage sale for $5 and I painted it with VHT Buick Green Engine paint on the outside and Engine black inside. Engine paints are oil and grease resistant, it's a tool box, your going be around oil and grease.......
It looked great until you pulled the drawers open. Maybe budgeting enough resources to do the job, ie high build primer, enough red paint to do the job. Maybe you we’re getting it ready for the swap meet or a garage sale.
Micky Mouse” job. You went to all of trouble doing things like dent removal but you couldn’t be bothered to remove the drawer bobs or the carrying handles on the side or at least tape them up BEFORE painting this thing? As the old saying goes: The devil is in the details. Overall, you couldn’t pay me to take this thing.
Very satisfying to watch an old antique to look so new at the end! Looking for more videos in the future :D
Glad you enjoyed!
Any worry about over spray onto the bikes ??
That was my thought. Any overspray will show up on those black bikes in the back lol

Great job 👏👏👏
cool restoration

Great job.
Should try to paint in one sweeping motion, not 3 little one for something that size. Good job though it turned out really good!
Wish my drawers came out that easy. I've been fighting friction slides for weeks.
👏🥂🥇 Felicidades. Saludos desde Barcelona Catalonia
Keep it up 👍
Hi...What grid is the cutting disc?
When you were painting the drawers, I had to fast forward because the fumes were getting really bad.
This is awesome I just bought an old used toolbox from the pawnshop and wanted to restore it and TH-cam recommended this video! Creepy and cool LoL
Man that takes some time ... great job
Did you just slow down Scotty Kilmer’s theme music for that intro 😂😂
this -
All that work and you didn’t paint the main cavity or the drawers (other than the front face) 🙄
Enjoyed the video - thanks for getting right to it, without worthless chatter. Well done.
LOL! I use this music in my videos too. Good work. Too bad you can't restore the original stickers that were on it.

Love the music. Cool project. Cheers.

All brands if you got the time and ready to drum up some effort lol
Congrats 🥳 10th subscriber
Thanks for subbing
What liquid do you use to remove rust? Or you just sand it to bare metal?
The box looks halfway ok at best but was that worth all the over spray on all those bikes? Yikes man I was cringing!
