Because we live in a narcissistic society - and the only way to approach mental health issues is from a place of empathy. Treating people with mental health issues with empathy means we would have to go somewhere conversationally as a culture before we go ahead and 'cancel' people. It would mean we would have to start listening and understanding before jumping to conclusions or assassinating people's characters. There are a lot of smart people out here but emotional intelligence is rare. As someone who been through abuse and have CPTSD, on days where I can't manage my mental illness, if I were to go out in public I would be targeted and mocked and called crazy and I'm just a regular person. Symptoms of mental illness are not pretty, they're scary and deeply uncomfortable. We aren't willing to have deeper discussions as a society right now but maybe this interview will help people start thinking
