In her quiet dignity, her complete sincerity and selfless service to her country and its interests and wellbeing, she far surpassed all other leaders. Those countries which have chosen to cut their ties with such a fount of kindness, goodness and genuine concern for them are clearly incapable of any sensible judgement, but that is their loss and it is for them to suffer the unfortunate consequences of likely inferior, corrupt government and chronic instability. Just to correct James Heale, Her late Majesty was in her 97th year when she died; she was 96 years old. It is 2023 and we are in the 21st century.

You know, since February 6th 1952 when her father King George VI died, she had been the monarch of the United kingdom. As at her death over 80% of Britons were born during her very long reign. Over 90% of people here in Nigeria and across Africa, the sub Indian continent and the Caribbean were not kind in their remarks, because of the slave trade and colonialism. Those of us who know history are aware that Britain was the first European country to end slavery back in 1833 and even sent the royal navy ships to the coast of West Africa to stop slave ships from leaving. As for British colonialism independence was achieved through the negotiating table and was largely peaceful, except in Kenya where they had the Mau Mau uprising. God bless the soul of her late majesty Queen Elizabeth II and God save King Charles III.
