The spinning room puzzle is the worst. When I first played this years ago I had to restart my game cause I got lost in the dark in there and couldnt get out. I will never not be annoyed by that.
Can we just talk about Jane and how savage she was in this game? And I don't just mean because she was the culprit. 21:18 - "Because he was stupid." If Milo was still alive, he'd need ice for that burn! 😂
The Wand puzzle exists in real life! I was just at MagiQuest and there is one puzzle where you have to activate a timer with your wand, then run to a different area and activate a different object in a short time, or it resets. I felt like I was living this game. Also, Jane probably threw the note down the drain in the conservatory.
I find this game incredibly frustrating. The amount of times I had to go back and forth. I always remembered this as one I did not enjoy. I recently replayed and ya, i had to go back and forth a bunch of times to find some info or try to do some puzzles. I had to check online hints a lot, and when trying to open the knight column I accidentally backed out while it was opening, my game glitched and the helmet key dissapeared. I had to redo about an hours work and even though I got the wand easily the first time, it wasnt working right when I tried to it a second time and I ended up taking an extra 20 minutes going back and forth to try and get the stupid guy to look up. Not one of my favorites at all. Theres a lot of really cool concepts and ideas but I just think it's frustrating in practice. Didnt realize I was so alone in this 😓
the entire house looks like a giant puzzle its visually overwhelming shapes runes astronomy numerals it all starts to blur together, with some unrelenting puzzles, ive played all the Nancy Drews, and if someone locked me in a room and told me couldn't leave until i finished this. i would probably be dead.
Ethal is the creepiest part of this game. She pops up randomly, threatens Nancy to stay away from Jane, and acts like she has some big secret suspicious plans for Jane.
Call me crazy but I would love to have a conversation with Nigel and read his book. However, I'm also a huge history lover, especially English history. And I love English mythology and folklore.
Love your reviews as always, Arglephumph! I like that this game is so intricate and detailed, I see and find new things even playing it all these years later. A few things I noticed from your comments: Alan’s motto is “garbage out” because he was a computer scientist. It’s a reference to a really common phrase in programming, “Garbage in, garbage out”, meaning that if you write bad code, you’re going to have a bad program. I think the paper ended up at the bottom of the well because Jane tried to hide the evidence by throwing it down the grate of the fountain in the conservatory. Thanks for making these videos, they’re always fun! :)
Regarding Bul in SSH, I think they made it that way so that you have the option of playing with a friend. This was the 4th game I played as a kid and I got so spooked by the tunnels that I never finished it 😂 i did it years later when it became available on steam
28:15 Why does nobody also question why Jane doesn't use her small amount of spare time running up and down them? She's a child surely running up and down the funny noises would entertain her until somebody told her off. xD 29:27 That is most likely. xD Also what you said about the statue rolling it's eyes, it was probably tired of constantly listening to Nigel wittering on about his memoirs. 33:11 Let's be honest, what did happen to her brother...
I find it ironic that you think watching somebody else play a single player game to be boring and you dont understand why people would want to do it :)
What's funny is that the last game Arglefumph dislikes a bit because of the puzzles, even though it's a fan favorite, and I love the game, but this game I dislike a bit because of the puzzles and this is also a fan favorite and he loves this game
Hey great video:) only criticism is maybe to show the parts of the game that you're talking about. Definitely eats up a lot of time though. Either way good stuff 🤠 I made a similar video on secrets can kill remastered if you're interested.
I actually like basically everything about this game except the ending. "Little girl misses her mom" just seemed anticlimactic and uninteresting to me. It fit the story well enough, but I was left with a feeling of "that's it?".
I didn't enjoy this game. I liked the set and the story but the puzzles and the way it all goes down was tedious for me. Love your vids and reviews of the series!
I genuinely dislike this game. I'm a character lover when it comes to Nancy. These characters do nothing for me. I think Jane is odd without being intriguingly interesting.
llrmegbenham I think she’s rather tragic. She feels stuck in the manor without any reason to interact with society since she’s tutored, and nobody will give her the time of day.
@@tomboyhns2643 and she has a fantasy of her mom coming home from france to get back with hugh... and she hates her new mom so much shed risk serious harm to her. I always loved jane, shes the best (and only) child culprit
@@tomboyhns2643 I thought that Nigel would have been A better Culprit instead of Jane yes I know that She's A Spoiled Brat but Her being The Culprit is way too obvious
"He and interesting aren't on speaking terms." LMFAO
This is one of the best games. It’s scary and it actually takes time to complete and Mrs Drake is hilarious. The penvellyn family tree is intriguing
Will always be my favorite of ND series. I love the mood, characters, and game flow

When I first played this game, I fully expect the ghost hunt ghouls to be scary, so I mentally prepared myself. And then they were so cute!
SAMEEE
I remember that too! As a kid I was bracing myself and then....
👻 🤣
Hugh can do it.@@Schwa_

The classic child way of getting rid of stuff

You're not alone. Just finished it yesterday. Had a laugh but oh my god so freaking frustrating.

If they remastered this game I'd bet ethels involvement would get more screen time. No way Jane did all of the heavy lifting in this curse business

It starts to make You wonder if Linda is Dead or A Zombie when She doesn't Say anything
I think this game is top three of my least favorite ND games. So many tedious puzzles. Not fun.
I found Petroglyph Punch A Puzzle that is A real Pain
You had me laughing though this review. 🙂 I disliked this game because it was so hard even on junior mode.
