This is a really great video on a great plane. The FIAT G91 is one of my favorite aircraft. I especially like jets from 1945 to 1975. This plane was well designed and very rugged and used by Italy, Germany and Portugal for many years. It was a very capable aircraft.

This was indeed the biggest advantage. It could be used as a war horse in large numbers.

Because of the look of it I had thought it was designed in the 70s, suprised to learn it's a 50s design. The look of it had me build it as a model out of curiousity as a kid but I had never researched it's origin.

She saved the day for West Germany as she was very reliable, stable and ergonomically sound jet when West German airforce was suffering from crashes of Mach 2+ F-104 Starfighter.

The start of this video made me sad.
The song that was played on the start of the video reminded me of Chakri Naruebet.

My dear brother, thanks so much, I couldn't have dreamed, to see the G 91video that fast, and so well explained. My dear brother you are unbeatable in making great fighter jet videos. A very big thanks for making it very in depth. The made 3 bigger up-grades of the Jet, the last and best was called G 31 Y, from which nearly 50% accounts for the Y model, around 350 jets. Italy is a very long country and flying from North to South is over 1000 km, but Italy has by far the longest costal lines of entire EU, and with the 2 biggest islands in the "Middle Sea" or Mediterranean Sea, Sicilia and Sardegna, the 3 rd Island that is Corsica, belongs to France, because the then Italian King House sold it to France. A shame because till today like Malta in the South has a very similar language to Italian(in thus case Sicilian dialect. The European King Houses mostly(Spain, Italy)were family with the French King of the Bourbon, like the actual Spanish king House still is. Genua was the power house in this days and the Duke of Genua was s Bourbon, for this they made this deal. Which Corsica never accepted and till few decades ago they still fought indipendence. The French and Spanish got big important men from Italy - like Napoleon who was from Corsica and made France to a military power. Same Christoph Columbus7 and Amerigo(America) Vespucci, the first brought Spain and the ownership of Caribbean, South America etc., but US main land was first put feed on by AmerIgo Vespucci from there they gave America as name. Italy is today the 2nd producing country in EU, only behind Germany(I live in Germany actually in Berlin). One more time thanks so much my dear brother, I will not forget your kindness, I will follow all your videos like always. Good luck and good health to you and yours dear brother

The FIAT G91 was designed as a fighter bomber not as an interceptor like the F5. The G91 was destined to become one of the best selling planes of all time and would have probably sold over 2,000 aircraft had not the United States cheated the Italians by persuading other nations to buy the F5. The greed of the USA is amazing. They won't even let an ally sell planes to friendly nations. At least the G91 served in the Italian, West German, and Portuguese air forces with 690 machines produced although this video says even more were made.

The Greeks never used the Fiat G-91.They refused her. Only Italy, Germany and Portugal used the aircraft. The US evaluated her and showed no interest.
