Awesome. I read an article that said the 3 series can do 42mpg w eco mode so I believe these numbers you have.
I on a 2014 328 diesel and I average 45 miles per gallon

Was that claim in British gallons or US gallons?
My 2017 540xi with the B58 Motor averaged 34/35 MPG on the HWY with 75-80 mph avg speed, in Comfort Mode. EPA rated it at 29MPG HWY...
I have driven it for 668 miles with a full tank, which is 18.5 gallons, so avg about 36MPG on that trip.
I have a 2017 BMW X1 front wheel drive and got 37mpg driving on the freeway for 100 miles with AC on the whole time. Using Ecoboost, I get almost 40mpg.
That’s super efficient.
@@mohammadrizwan4251 They were made for Europe were this is barely acceptable today. Most people buy diesel so they get 40-50 or hybrids.

Never fails when I visit a fueling station. Some loud, clanky diesel always pulls up, idles while fueling.
With AWD!!! Will RWD get 40mpg with almost 400hp?
I'm not sure this is available in RWD.

For 60K, I want my vehicle to have lane centering, even if I'm not going to use it. Doubly so considering BMW's lackluster steering feel. It's amazing to me that these companies are still omitting or charging for these things while Tesla gives you them for free.

I owned the exact same car in the 2017 version...fantastic performer, and docile when you want it....still miss it.

I took a 300 mile road trip (mostly highway) to pick up my new mini clubman in my 2020 Bmw 330i xdrive and was getting 44 MPG.
My 20yo E38 makes 41mpg.
Modern direct injected turbo cars get amazing highway fuel efficiency provided the aero isn’t too bad. Hardly takes any energy to keep a car rolling on the highway. It’s when you drive aggressively and change up the speeds where consumption is high.
The Jetta 1.4 turbo that I got as a loaner will do close to 50 mpg at 70 mph, but it drops to the 20s in pure city stop-and-go driving.

See, the thing is…This isn’t an E36 or E46.
_Nobody_ would drive this in Eco Pro mode which reduces throttle response, cuts AC consumption and disengages the transmission when the car detects the ability to coast. Not a real world test..
Once learning it was an ice vehicle and not an EV, I stopped the video.
That must have been quite disorienting for you. Did you make it all the way until the end when they stopped at the gas station?
