4k ASMR | Walking in the Rain at Honen Dam, Kagawa, Japan | Binaural Rain and Waterfalls Sounds

Kagawa Prefecture is the smallest prefecture in Japan, yet it is famous throughout the country for having 12,269 ponds within its small area. This is because Kagawa Prefecture has long ago suffered from a lack of rainfall, and farmers were unable to grow crops due to water shortages, which led to the construction of many ponds. This is why there are still many ponds scattered throughout modern Kagawa Prefecture.
In 821 A.D., the monk Kūkai directed the creation of Mannoike, the most famous pond in Kagawa Prefecture. Kūkai, a famous monk not only in Japan but also in Changan, China, was born in Zentsuji City, Kagawa Prefecture, and after undergoing certain training as a monk in China, he returned to Kagawa Prefecture to spread Buddhism and also to create a pond.
Honenike, which can be seen in this video, is also a pond that stores water for agricultural use, and Honenike Dam is the dam that holds back the water. Construction of the Honenike Dam began in 1926 and was completed in 1930.
Constructed using a technique known as multiple arch construction, the dam is now designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. The only other dam built using the same technique in Japan is the Okura Dam in Miyagi Prefecture.
I attempted to photograph this Honenike Dam on a day when it rained heavily, which is rare in Kagawa Prefecture. The day I shot this video was also early April, when the cherry blossoms were in bloom, so I am confident that I was able to capture some very beautiful images.
